Personal Note: Another rigged awards show.... Also, even more pork awards were distributed this year! o_O

Surprised that Michael Tse was left out...would have expected to see Laughing Gor as a favourite character instead of Sunny's emperor role. However, Sunny just signed a per series contract with TVB, so his win may be related to his loyalty.

Ruco, who has been in the industry for 18 years, is still considered a 'newcomer'?!

Surprised that Moses and Linda won the 'Couple' award for "Sir", as their pairing was probably one of the least liked ones of the nominations.

Like Selena's dress the most! :)

  2. Yay, Sunny! I'm happy to see him again.

I don't understand why Linda was nominated for her role in L'Escargot instead of Yes Sir, Sorry Sir.

I actually don't mind pork chop awards. haha. I just prefer if they were given to non-lead actors/actresses. Like, I'm happy that Kenny got a "pork chop" award but why not give those other pork chop awards to someone who didn't already get an award?

  6. OMG love Sunny so touched haven't seen him in so long! I really miss him! I also wondered why he got an award I guess in the end it's all politics.

Back to Ruco, Realy?! Best Male Newcomer? He should be getting most favorite character! Oh well something better than nothing.

  7. Tavia has gotten so skinny lately. Wish she would gain a little more weight, I liked her chubby face more. She looked more youthful, hahaha.

As for the awards, I never expect much of these awards shows, they're always if not 90% rigged half the time. Even the TVB Anniversary Awards are not worth watching anymore.

  8. I generally don't mind pork chop awards, only when they're really blatant, but some of these awards really make me go "huh" like Moses and Linda as Favourite Couple for YSSS, and Ruco and Aimee as Best Newcomers. Ruco has been around forever, and even Aimee has been acting for four years now! Does TVB think that the audience has amnesia?

I watched the ceremony on StarHub last Saturday, and I feel like it's not really worth watching. It's nice to see all these TVB stars come to Singapore and have some light-hearted moments on stage, but aside from that there's not much to enjoy about the show. The rigged nature of the awards makes it rather unsatisfying to watch, plus the (non-TVB) musical acts that StarHub invited were nothing to write home about either. Also the production values of the show left much to be desired -- the stage lighting and audio were kinda bad (don't know whether StarHub or TVB is responsible for that). Marina Bay Sands is actually a very glitzy venue but the organisers managed to make it look plain.
