"The audience knows!" (Fictional Dialogue)
"I'm the male lead!" (Fictional Dialogue)
Originally, Kenneth Ma was supposed to be the second male lead. Whether it is liking from the audience or acting ability, Kenneth Ma exceeds Kevin Cheng by a mile. Logically, he moved from second lead to first lead.
The ratings of "A Fistful of Stances" have been steadily increasing. TVB has arranged for the finale (two episodes) of the series to air (April 18th @ 8:30pm) after "Super Trio Game Master" to go up against the Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation, which will be airing on ATV.
The writer has been watching this series every night. The partnership of producer Lee Tim Sing and screenwriter Cheung Wah Biu didn't disappoint, as the plot is well-paced. On the contrary, as the male lead, Kevin Cheng's screen time and limelight are inferior to Kenneth's. It seems as though he had been moved from a leading role to a supporting role. Why is that so? A TVB snitch revealed that someone was always sick, and would only do three moves at most while filming fight scenes. [This person] would not be able to remember long lines of dialogue. Thus, action choreographers gave [this person] the nickname 'Three Moves'. Screenwriters gave his screen time to Kenneth Ma.
Kevin Cheng's smoothest fight scenes were with Yuen Chau and Ram Chiang.
Netizens Greatly Criticize Kevin Cheng
It was rumoured that Kevin Cheng obtained his leading role from complaining to executives, but what about it? He can't fight, he can't speak, and he is greatly criticized by netizens.
The writer asked the crew of "A Fistful of Stances", but they were unwilling to respond to the rumours. However, the truth is in front of us!
"A Fistful of Stances" on "Scoop" Part 2
Personal Note: Ha ha.... Gossip article with some truth! ;) In this article, it also revealed some of the endings for some of the characters. As some people have not watched the series yet, I will not translate that part. ;)
TVBE Clip
Also, Angel Chiang's TVB blog updated with pictures from last night's dinner with the cast of "Fistful" (Ma Ming and Natalie treated). Even though there weren't many people present (Ma Ming and Selena were filming "Can't Buy Me Love", Dominic is in Canada, Jacky Heung and others were also not present), Angel had a great time.
Angel also had these questions in her blog:
How will the ending for Yau Yau (herself) and Ah Yan (Stephen Wong Ka Lok) turn out?
What will be the ending for Daddy (Dominic Lam) and Older Brother (Jacky Heung)?
You must watch for Kara's acting! That scene was absolutely phenomenal!
Also, my most favourite couple: Older Sister (Selena Li) and Tong Gor Jai (Kenneth Ma). Ha ha....
When I was reading the script, I had already imagined how that scene was going to be filmed. :D
He he.... It sounds like a happy ending for Ma Ming and Selena! *Fingers crossed! ;)
The clips on "Scoop" are just too short! I want longer and more in-depth interviews of the cast! :D

Kenneth has done a great show in this series!!!
ReplyDeleteKenneth treated for dinner, even though he didn't go??
Whooo seems to be negative news about Kevin Cheng, no wonder why it really seemed like he wasn't the lead actor at all.
ReplyDeleteBut GOOD NEWS for Kenneth!!
To carmen:
ReplyDeleteYes, Ma Ming and Natalie both treated, but Ma Ming didn't go because he's filming "Can't Buy Me Love".
Tavia treated the cast of "Beyond" to dinner, but she didn't attend, as she was filming "The Flying Fish of Winter".
Ma Ming's Tong Goh Jai is the best character in AFOS! I love him.. he's intelligent, funny, cute, kind of romantic, handsome, caring... OMG, he really impressed me!! If there was such person in real life... hahahas
ReplyDeleteHis chemistry with Tze Ching is so lovely to watch :) He definitely outshines Kevin, you can see that Ma Ming more screentime and his character is well-written and developed, whereas Kevin's Ah Cheung is quite of weak, especially in the scenes where they have troubles. It's always Tong who solves it with an intelligent idea.. Cheung is sometimes annoying with his stupid actions
Also, it's stupid to list Shirley as female lead after Yuen Chau, her role is so small, just a supporting role like Jazz Lam. Natalie's and Selena's roles are so much bigger, and Nancy's just a guestrole as her screen-time is even less than Angela.
I see how many grammatical errors I made... because I changed some words in the sentences later, but forget to remove some words..
ReplyDeleteLike this: "Whereas Kevin's Ah Cheung is kind of weak" I changed to "Whereas Kevin's Ah Cheung is quite weak" but forget to remove "of".. well I think you understands what I've written haha
I think TVB listed Shirley right after Yuen Chao because shes quite popular? I think...

Agree 100% with you! Ku Yue Tong is the best character in "A Fistful of Stances". He is definitely the first male lead. It is always good to hear other people praise Ma Ming other than myself. You know, some people may think I'm biased towards a certain somebody. But, in reality, the truth is in front of us. ;)
Don't worry about typos! I know what you mean. :)
To Lizzy & Anonymous:
Shirley still has status in TVB. Also, don't forget that Selena is on the wrong side here. ;)
The audience knows who is really main. :)
Ya, i REALLY love kenneth ma ( ma ming)'s character ku yu tong, and i LOVE calling him tong goh jai myself! and he is definitely better than Kevin Cheung, whether its his acting or his actual personality outshines kevin cheungs. he's such a kid he still likes donald duck and sleeps woth them at night! :)
ReplyDeletei really think that Shirley Yueng is like over acting and she is like the most unreal character and most least line. The same little lines as Yau Yau. -tvb fan
