I am a loyal Ming Pao Weekly reader and they have just revealed the nominees for this year's awards. The awards have always been called 'Most Outstanding TV Male/Female Artiste'. Notice the 'Outstanding' part; the nominees who make it into the top five actually had a breakthrough performance. Unlike TVB, the Ming Pao Awards are not rigged. The results are fair and non-discriminating. Ming Pao doesn't have 'sons' and 'daughters' to please by 'giving' them awards.
Holy! Take a look at the top five for 'Most Outstanding TV Female Artiste'; they are all from "Moonlight Resonance". I haven't seen that happen before. (Again, very fair because there is no 'New Rule: Limitation of nominations per category from the same series'.) It makes perfect sense why all five of the females are from the same series. It is because TVB aired nothing good this year, and/or aired good series at the wrong time. TVB is even cutting an episode of "The Four" to make way for the grand production series "The Gem of Life".
Anyway, Tavia has a chance at winning 'Most Outstanding TV Female Artiste'. Any one of the top five deserves to win because of her 'breakthrough' performance. However, I will still show my support for Tavia. Go, Tavia!
