Personal Note: I saw this clip a while back now, and I was pretty excited to watch the clip then and now. Ha ha.... A modern version of "The Four" would be promising if TVB would ever cast the four siu sangs in the same series again, but I don't think TVB is planning that any time soon.

The clip was put together nicely but the quality sucks. The music made me laugh more than feel intense, haha. It would be awesome though if TVB did a modern The Four, lol. I'm sure lots of people would go crazy over it and now that a clip's up, maybe we'll see some petitions starting soon. ;)

No, I watched it 2 motnhs ago on HD DVD but still be addicted to it, haha! Especially Cold Blood, I got a huge collection of pics, MVs, infos about him and trying to read all the original "men-it's-long" novel of Sei Tai Ming Bo! :))

ReplyDelete"The Four" is supposed to be 25 episodes long. When it was aired in HK, TVB cut one episode to accommodate the airing of "The Gem of Life".
It will be very difficult for them four to film in the same series again. The chances of that happening is very slim.
The Four original version was 30-ep. But because for some stupid reasons that TVB made up so they just cut into 25(DVD version). And then because of The Gem Of Life, then they cut into 24(TV version). Especially, Cold Blood and Life Chaser's scenes was cut most! God Damn, it sucks!

Yeah ya right! A whole novel full with unknown character definitely will get on ya nerve haha! But if there is English-translated novel so it would be great! :D
ReplyDeleteHaiz, if the director had invested and concentrated in this film, The Four would has won TVB Best Drama and Ron would has won My Most Fav Male Character for Cold Blood! :))
I don't think Cold-Blooded would win fav. character even if the storyline was better written. The others would be nominated, too. So, I think Iron Fist or Chasing Life would have a better chance. I am only referring to their characters and not them in real life. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, Ron did a very good job in illustrating Cold Blood and make viewers understand clearly the coldness and coolness this character orginally is in the novel! [illustrating a person who is cold outside but very sensitive inside is hard, but he did it] Besides, this role is his best act ever since he's acted a the same kind of boring character before. So I think he should have win if the storyline had been better and the script had concentrated more in his background [especially the scene when Chu Kot saw his jade when he was injured, and instead of killing him, Chu Kot just made him one of the constables, and after that, no explanation what was their relationship anyway and why?]==> cheesy script.
ReplyDeleteAbout Life Chaser and Iron Fist, they are very interesting too. In fact, they are the ones make this serie funny haha. But for winning, I don't think so because besides the other 3, Life Chaser is unoriginal compared with the novel. Life Chaser is supposed to be a drinking person and wine is the main factor that make his martial art stronger and better. And Iron Fist, he is kind and sweet, a powerful-hand person, illustrating this character is the easiest in all 4. But ya are right, Kenneth did a great job though and they should nominate him in the list instead of another roles. :D
The promo was a little amateur but I love the concept. I would love a modern drama with the cast from The Four. Raymond, Ron, Sammul and Kenneth for the guys. As for girls: Selena, Fala, Nancy and maybe Tavia would be totally awesome.
ReplyDeleteI can't decide if I want Selena to pair up with Ray or Kenneth because she has so great chemistry with them both. Ron should definitely be paired up with Tavia! Or Nancy actually, since I thought they were cute too in TOB. But could you imagine the possibilities? Instead of Tavia, I could also see Bernice. She would also make a good match for Kenneth, because she's so tall too. But whom should be paired up with Sammul? I can't really recall any great TVB past pairings for him and I'm so in love with his pairing with Ruby in "Schemes of a Beauty", I can't imagine anyone better for him.
I'm sure someone can do a fanfic for the modern version. I'd love to read it if one exist or will be made.
