Nicky Lee 《Perfect, Not》

Nicky Lee, the Korean-American Mando-pop singer, returns with his newest album, 《Perfect, Not》. The title track, "Perfect, Not" (track 1), is composed by Nicky, and he uses a simple melody to contrast the sad moving song. Nicky's good personal connections allowed him to add new musical elements and try new attempts for this new album. "Heaven" (track 1) is an energetic song full of Chinese traditional music. It is also the theme song for an online game. He invited Khalil Fong, Real@F.I.R., and Kenji Wu to help him write songs. "Not Just a Dream" (track 4) was composed by Khalil and written by Xiao Cui. The lyrics for this song were inspired by a nightmare. Xiao Cui dreamed about a world without any flowers, plants, animals, or any human being. He hopes that everyone can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide that is in the air and conserve more energy to help make this planet a healthier and happier environment to live in. "Dead Lock" (track 6) was composed by Real, while "Bad Habit" (track 5) was composed by Kenji. Both of these tracks are new attempts for Nicky because they are mixed with R&B elements. These two love songs happen to be Nicky's favourites on this album. "You Do Not Know My Understanding" (track 8) is also worth a listen.

You Do Not Know My Understanding

My rating: 9/10
I love this album a lot! The love songs are very soothing and calm. I like tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 8. My favourite tracks would have to be 1, 2, and 8. The only bad thing I would say about this album would be the lyrics. It may be the fact that he is Korean, but the lyrics are a bit simple.
