Fala Chen's Name Comes from 'Music Notes'

Many people have asked Fala, why is her name "陳法拉"? The name "法拉" was given to her by her mischievous grandfather. Her grandfather said that, according to their Chen ancestor spectrum, "法" is the character for Fala's generation. On top of that, he is a musician, so he was inspired by the musical notes, "do re mi fa so la". In the end, he decided to go with "fa la".

Fala said that she is the only child in the family and, if she had a younger brother, he would possibly be named after the music notes "mi so", just like the Japanese miso soup.

Ever since Fala was young, classmates would tease her because of her name. However, her father found out that the grandfather had made a mistake. The character for Fala's generation is supposed to be "鳴" (Ming). Originally, he wanted to change her name to "陳鳴拉", but it did not sound nice. Thus , he decided to "make the best of a bad situation" by keeping the name 陳法拉.
