- Filming starts on Monday, May 11th.
- Tavia Yeung will play the young version of Yuen Chau, and Kevin Cheng will play the young version of his dad.
- Tavia will be guest-appearing for six episodes.
- Yuen Wah was supposed to be in the series, but due to schedule conflicts, he is unable to film. He will be replaced by Dominic Lam (who was not present at the costume fitting).
- Wing Chun vs. Hung Fist = Kevin vs. Jacky Heung.
- Martial arts will not be the basic focus of the series.
- The series is now classified as a family matters show.
- Stephen Wong will play Ku Yue Yan (顧汝仁), who is not book smart or good at martial arts.
- The costumes used at this fitting will not be the official costumes used in the series. Most of the clothes worn at the fitting were borrowed from other series. Natalie's look is exactly Shirley's look from "The Silver Chamber of Sorrows". Kenneth's clothes look like Raymond Lam's from "The Master of Tai Chi".

- Dominic and Selena = father and daughter
- Jacky Heung should be Dominic's son and Selena's brother.
- Dominic is married to Kara Hui (Kara is the mother of Selena, Jacky Heung, and Angel Chiang).
- Kenneth and Selena will be paired up.
- Selena will be playing a Western doctor.
- Although Kenneth's character will have asthma, he is still interested in learning martial arts.
- There will be a love triangle between Kevin, Nancy Wu, and Natalie Tong.
- Nancy will use love to cheat Kevin. She will use him.

Personal Note: The series makes me think of Donnie Yen's movie, "Ip Man".
Ma Ming looks like a fighter in here! How is Kevin Cheng the fighter and tall Ma Ming is the one with asthma? I mean, Kevin Cheng is 斯文 looking. For some reason, his image is not fitted to be a fighter.
Nancy's role has to be small in here. She is so typecast to play small roles.
Stephen Wong Ka Lok posted an entry in his blog regarding the series. If I'm reading this right, the three brothers might not even have many scenes with each other.

This series turned to a tragedy show :(. I did hope tat they dun change the kungfu - comedy theme of it.

ReplyDeleteAnyway I'm glad that Stephen got a good role here. I mean there's plenty of character development for him. The only series where he got a sizable role in (apart from Brink of Law) is The Greatness of a Hero, but it was warehoused.

And I read in news article that Heung Joh signed contract with TVB for two years (no per series contract), which means that we'll see him more.
ReplyDeleteIn the article, the reporters also said that they saw he didn't know his colleagues (the other TVB artistes whom he'll work with). After having to read the cast list with the reporters, he got to know he'll play a family with Selena, Dominic and Kara.

ReplyDeleteGoo family has three sons, that time they encountered a big calamity, 彪 (Biu) and 花 (Fa) died sadly, 章 (Cheung) got kidnapped, 仁 (Yan) was only 2 years old, which is the period he needs to be taken care of, but Lan searched for 誠 (Sing) and had to confront with 德 (Tak). Because of this, Yan became quite idle. He was not succesful at martial arts and regrets this, slowly he forms his self-abased character. He stays at home helping, Yan looks like he doesn't really care about, but in his heart is family the most important.

Fortunately, Cheung saved him in emergency, but his body was deeply injured. Afterwards, 娟 (Guen) discovered by accident a working medical receipt from their ancestors, this receipt helped him to survive. Tong gets to know this receipt's wonderful effect and decided to develop it greatly.
Yan also felt people were looking down at him, and hopes to have some good result to surprise these people, when Lan saw that Yan was working hard, she felt happy.
