Ma Ming was very cute! He thought Amigo was going to interview someone else, so he squatted down. Amigo asked him, "TVB executives want to know what award you would like". Ma Ming answered, "Why don't you ask the rest of the guys what awards they don't want, and I'll take that". (That means you want to fight Louis Yuen for the 'Best Extra' award?) "Yes, I want to fight Louis for it." When he replied with this, he looked very silly and cute! Ha ha....

Part 5

I am very satisfied with the results of this year's anniversary. Most of the winners were deserving candidates. All can be described with the word 'good'! I am especially happy for Ha Yu, Michelle, Wayne, and Tavia. Without a doubt, they are good. They had the most applause for the night. No wonder Stephen Chan said that there will be non-contracted winners this year. He was trying to say that Wayne was going to win. Good! He deserved that award. Go, Tavia! Finally, some recognition for her great acting abilities! Tavia just won Ming Pao's 'Most Supported Artiste Award' and another award is just too great. Her status in TVB is finally 'big' because she actually gets to play characters she has always wished for. She will be playing a villain in next year's "Palace Scheme". With all of this recognition, Tavia is not arrogant about it. She is just too good! I am also happy that neither Kate nor Sharon took awards away from Tavia or Nancy. There was a lot of talk saying that Kate was going to take 'Best Supporting Actress' and that Sharon had TVB's GM, Stephen Chan, backing her up for 'Most Improved Female Artiste'. The award is called 'Most Improved', and because of "Strictly Come Dancing II", Nancy came out of nowhere and surprised everyone with her dancing abilities. After that, audiences finally took notice of her performance in "The Silver Chamber of Sorrows". Way to go, Nancy! Nathan's support was not wasted!

It was kind of obvious that TVB was going to give 'Best Actor' and 'Best Actress' to Ha Yu and Michelle because "Moonlight" was just too big. Michelle was a hot favourite because of all the press coverage on her boyfriend's medical condition, and also because of her performance as Yan Hung. However, it is really rare for an evil character to win awards, especially when it is a leading role. On the other hand, she did do well toward the end of the series. Good! There was no way Raymond was going to take the award from Ha Yu. Ha Yu already had the award tucked in his sleeve! TVB could have given it to Raymond, but they would just destroy Raymond, and they wouldn't do that because Raymond is heavily favoured by TVB. However, with Raymond losing out on the 'Best Actor' award, he will not have a shot at it until at least 2010.

Speaking of favoured, Myolie is for sure one of the heavily favoured artistes in TVB. There is no way she is qualified to win the award for 'Best Fashion Taste' (even though not a major award)! Her fashion sense is not up to par compared to Moses or Gigi. That was so rigged! Is she going to be the next 'Best Actress' for her series "Chau Heung Angers Tong Bak Fu" co-starring Moses?

Another unfairness would have to be Susanna not making into the top 5, but rather Sonija making it in. This would have to be one of moments where I ask, "Who died and made her main?" That is totally crap! I know they want to honour "D.I.E." for being the second highest in ratings this year, but isn't the series making the top 3 enough?

The award for 'Best Dressed Male and Female' for the night should be awarded to Ma Ming and Tavia! Ha ha ha! Enough said!

  3. Ha Yu definitely deserved his award. His performance in MR was so much better than in HOG, I feel like he won for the right show in the end.

Raymond is still young, if only he would focus more on improving his acting instead of too much singing... *sigh* 2010 will not be his year either.

It's funny that Kevin won in 2006, because his performance in LOS was actually, really great and far more deserving of the award - even though, he had no chance up against Ha Yu. Usually, I don't like Kevin period and I think he's both a bad actor and singer, but he did manage to convince me that he can actually act - on really, really rare occasions anyway. (My theory though, is that it was because he was acting up against a powerhouse like Roger Kwok and therefore, actually made an effort.) I also think it's funny how I really liked him AFOS - as the father only. Not the son. Plus, he had great chemistry with Tavia.

Michelle was amazing in MR - but I've always loved her. Her role in Heavenly Sword... with Damian Lau already cemented my love for her. Plus, hello Brink of Law?

You're definitely right about Myolie. I can't believe she won a fashion award! TVB doesn't even usually have a fashion award, do they? Where did that come from?
