TVB series "The Defected" had a great response when it aired last year. The finale recorded a rating of 33 points, leading to a surge in popularity for the leads. Among them, Kara Hui, who played a cool high rank of the Disciplined Services, was even the soul of the entire series, and finally won the 'TV Queen' award as the hot favourite at "TV Awards Presentation 2019". On the awards stage, she already expressed that she wanted to return to TVB to film series more often. Sure enough, [she] has kept [her] promise, as [she] has recently been confirmed to film a detective thriller. [Her] co-stars include [her] partner in "Defected", Philip Keung, and Vincent Wong, who is playing her son.
Keeps People Guessing to Remain Mysterious
It is said that this series revolves around different mentally ill patients; therefore, the actors have already done a lot of research before the start of filming. Kara's performance will be even more intense than "Defected". The series will be shot in the format of American series. It is expected to have two seasons with a total of 20-plus episodes, and will commence filming at the end of April. Apart from local scenes, it was initially intended to have location filming in Southeast Asia; however, when verifying with Kara, she kept people guessing, only saying, "Actually, I know that the company is in discussion. As for other things, don't know yet".
Hellish Training to Play a Police Officer
Philip, who lost out on the 'TV King' award last year, is not giving up. During an interview, he admitted that he would be filming this series but did not know who his co-stars are. He said, "Really did not know that it is Kara. Certainly good that it is her! Last time, the working atmosphere was quite good; the rhythm was also comfortable. (What role are you playing?) Tentatively set to be a senior police officer. Have not discussed the details of the script yet. Still very preliminary now. (A considerable pay?) Don't know. Having a good partner is more important. How much the pay is is not the biggest issue. It is not a big deal! Actually, Mr. [Felix] To had said that he wanted the original lineup of 'Defected' to film another series but that it was not necessarily going to be a police [series]; later, it was shelved. However, it is also good to have this series now...able to film another series with Kara". To match his role, Philip recently started a hellish weight loss plan, which includes running three times a day in order to return to a well-built physique for work.
