- The series mainly talks about humanity. It hopes to use the Chinese cop role portrayed by Louis Cheung to express that, regardless of how bad a person is, there is also a bit of a conscience inside. The series is packaged in a lighthearted manner, using a rather humourous format to preach.
- Tavia Yeung will play Leung Sam (梁芯), a kind and upright servant. She is more independent. When she was younger, she and good friend Lin Xia Wei were sold to a brothel in Hong Kong. Lin Xia Wei, who has a desire for beauty and loves to eat, accepts the arrangement of reality and becomes a popular prostitute; however, Tavia, who has principles, frequently runs away and is constantly hit because of failing to do so. In the end, she is rescued by servant Ching Ho Wai, and is taken into a spinster home. Because she has seen all types of men in the brothel, she thinks that all men are bad, thereby deciding to become a spinster like Ching Ho Wai. She and Louis are neighbours. Because Louis is known as a cop who accepts bribes, Tavia looks down on him. The two are initially rivals; however, in the end, Louis becomes influenced by her and Mat, causing him to discover his conscience. She likes Mat, even unbraiding her hair for him. She has a romantic storyline with Mat, but there are no intense scenes.
- Louis will play Kam Wah (金華), a corrupt cop in the '30s who bullies around. He despises worldly conventions. Since he was young, he has been pursued by countless ailments, so he was abandoned by his father. Because of his tragic childhood, he hid his truest feelings the bottom of his heart. He is good and evil. Because of a bathing scene, he falls in love with Tavia. He, Tavia, and Lin Xia Wei are involved in a love triangle. In the end, he, Tavia, Mat, and Lin Xia Wei go against the evil forces of society together. He is also called 「收規華」.
- Mat will play Sam Yat Yin (沈一然), a righteous cop who does not accept bribes. He is one of the few clear springs in the police force, and is not liked in the police force. Because his father was forced to death by gangsters, he became a cop to catch thieves and to change this society; however, he was pushed aside by his colleagues, so he was transferred to Tangxi, and became colleagues with Louis. Because the two have different principles, many conflicts arise. In the end, Louis gets enlightened by him, and becomes a true partner. He originally liked Tavia; afterward, in order to rise in position, he gets married to Candy Chang, who is the daughter of the Chief Superintendent of Police.
- Lin Xia Wei will play Fa Ying Yuet (花影月), a Tangxi prostitute. Because of her outstanding outer appearance, she becomes a popular prostitute. She seduces Joe Tay. In order to become a part of the upper class society, she marries the much older Lau Kong and becomes his second wife.
- Joe will play a rich second generation who likes to frequent brothels.
- Timothy Cheng and Hugo Wong will play uncle and nephew.
- Candy will play Lam Choi Dip (藍彩蝶), a prostitute. Because she was an orphan, she is hardhearted and lacks a sense of security; however, she dares to love and hate, and is extremely loyal.
- Vincent Lam will play the second boss of a gang.
- Derek Wong will play Man Cheuk (文雀), a thief in the '30s.
