Frankie Lam and Jessica Hsuan, who left the company for nine years and five years respectively, collaborated on filming TVB's first 4K series filmed entirely on location, "My Unfair Lady". The two have filmed numerous series, frequently working all night. When asked about their current attitude when accepting jobs, the two coincidentally said, "Quality!"
Spending a Lot of Money to Film Entirely on Location
Filming a series for TVB again this time, the two both expressed that they agreed to it because they encountered a good script. "My" was filmed with a 4K technique and was entirely on location. Frankie frankly said that it was a big improvement: "The feeling was very different. [Filming] entirely on location requires a lot of money. A 28-episode series typically films for three months. We filmed for five months. The filming crew filmed it like a movie. The most important was having ten hours of rest every day!" Jessica said that her partner is an important deciding factor in whether she accepts a series or not. She laughingly said that, when she and Frankie were filming the series, the two would not arrive on time; rather, they would 'compete in arriving early', which made other actors not even dare to be late.
Colliding with a Holiday, Ratings Still Increase
Although the premiere week of "My" collided with a holiday, the ratings did not fall but increased. In addition, there is a bunch of golden phrases in the series, and there are many good-looking actors, including Natalie Tong, Samantha Ko, Vincent Wong, etc., taking part, successfully starting off with a bang! Frankie and Jessica frankly said that they did not expect the ratings to be so ideal despite colliding with a holiday. The last time the two collaborated was "Witness to a Prosecution", which was 18 years ago; however, it was mostly group scenes. "My" can be said to be their first official series collaboration. Frankie laughingly said that, seeing Jessica again, he feels that she has not changed. Jessica expressed that she was fully immersed during filming; Frankie also helped her immerse into the scene to make her execution even better.
