TVB starts airing anniversary series in October every year, and the leads take advantage of the timing to compete for awards at the subsequent awards presentation! After "From Hong Kong to Beijing" has been scheduled as an anniversary series, on.cc has received exclusive news that the remaining two anniversary series are tentatively scheduled to be "Romeo and His Butterfly Lover", starring husband-and-wife team Moses Chan and Aimee Chan, and Charmaine Sheh and Kenneth Ma's grand production, "The QUEEN of News".

All three series have a strong cast. Among them, Moses and Kenneth each have at least three series to compete for TV king. Moses has "Treasure of Destiny", "Narcotics Heroes", and "Romeo"; in "Narcotics", his dispirited look and unique voice were refreshing. However, he has been met with Kenneth's super stamina. Apart from "Speakers of Law", he also has "The Invisibles", which is the most loved by netizens and is currently TVB's highest ratings this year, and then "QUEEN". It will certainly be a tough battle.

Hopes for Jazz Lam to Win 'Supporting Actor'

Moses and Kenneth won TV king in 2007 and 2019 respectively. Kenneth said in an interview [today], "Really having a normal attitude for awards. Just like in previous years, I just want to win 'Best Series'. It is much more joyful to share the joy than enjoy it alone; it's also happier to eat a meal together. 'Speakers' and 'Invisibles' have released this year so far. 'Invisibles' has a greater chance because it is currently the highest-rated series this year and is temporarily the number one favourite among netizens in an online voting. The reaction to "QUEEN" later is still unknown, but I am very confident". He feels that he has been very lucky this year, and he has had breakthroughs in many series: "The character in 'QUEEN' is a rare sight. I am not a good person. Battling with Charmaine from the beginning to the end. Hope that the series will be well-received when it comes out so that there is a greater chance of competing for awards. Also, I really hope that 'Best Supporting Actor' will be won by Jazz Lam".

As for Moses, he also likes this year's works: "'Narcotics' received a positive response in terms of ratings and public praise. I am also looking forward to 'Romeo' getting good results. After all, Aimee has not appeared on the screen for a long time...believe that viewers are also looking forward to it. The story is also brand new, so also full of confidence!" Regarding awards, he thinks that it is too early to say: "Facing so many strong series, can only have a wait-and-see attitude. The confidence is there. Hope that the luck can continue until the end of the year!" When asked if he is confident in winning an award with his wife, he laughingly said, "Ha ha ha. If so, it would really be a big thanks!"

Aimee Chan's Comeback Has an Advantage

In terms of TV queen, Nancy Wu has been highly praised for her performances in "Mission Run" and "Narcotics". She should have a good chance of winning an award, but now she has to face Aimee, who is making a comeback after a long time, and Charmaine's returning work. In addition, Katy Kung, who often brushes past TV queen, is very refreshing in "QUEEN" and "Unchained Medley". There certainly seems to be a fierce battle!

Back then, Charmaine swept 11 awards for her role as 「釘姐」 in "Line Walker" and became the only '11 Awards TV Queen" in Hong Kong history. When she was interviewed [today], she said, "'QUEEN' is a script that I really like. Every role has a lot to execute. Of course, [I] particularly like the role of 「Man姐」. As for awards, have always left it to fate". Nancy also expressed that she has not particularly thought about awards: "Very grateful for winning twice. Whether it was 'Narcotics'' 'Cheung Lam' or 'Mission''s 'To Man', already very happy about the good reviews from viewers. Winning an award or not is secondary".

Aimee is really looking forward to the broadcast of "Romeo": "It's happy to be nominated, but I have not thought that far. Just came back out to film, hope that viewers like it most. Of course, whether Moses is nominated or winning an award, I would support him the same. I will always support him!" Katy hopes to collaborate with the leads of the anniversary series: "Have not thought too much about awards. Hope to do every role well so as to not disappoint those who have given me opportunities".

TV King Ruco Chan Wants to Compete for Supporting Actor Award

Ruco Chan, who won TVB's TV king in 2016 with the series "A Fist Within Four Walls", is leading the anniversary series "From" this year, collaborating with Jinny Ng for the first time. When interviewed, he admitted that it felt fresh. Jinny is a singer, so the audience was a bit worried about her being the female lead at first, but her acting skills were good in "The Spectator", which premiered online in Mainland, and she was also praised by Ruco for having potential, instantly getting bonus points!

Talking about this year's battle for TV king, Ruco laughingly said, "There are many scenes in terms of emotional storylines; viewers will be very immersed when watching, but I played an antagonist in 'Invisibles', and viewers also really liked it. Was really overjoyed, but don't know if [I] will be shortlisted for leading actor. In the past, very few antagonists get TV king. Would [I] get 'Supporting Actor' this year? Experience everything! (Give other supporting actors a chance!) Well, that's true. It's not really right. It would be better if more other actors participate". As for Jinny, who is competing for TV queen, called herself the 'Best Accompanying Runner' when interviewed. She said, "I have always had the attitude of being happy for others. Instead, nervous about what outfit [I] should wear that night".
