- Although the story is related to last time's karma, the story is different. There will be more tension, and the fighting among people is stronger. The romance scenes will be reduced, and it will be more story-oriented. The plot will be more intense, and it will be more faster paced.
- The plot format will be similar to the first installment: it will go from one case as the starting point, and then develop into a lot of suspicions among the characters, so everyone can guess while watching.
- Shaun Tam will play Yiu Seung Him (姚尚謙), a slovenly painter struggling between the ideal and reality. His and Joel Chan's story is related to an accident that happened many years ago; the old things are intertwined with the things that are happening now, revealing the truth and bringing out even more plots about the dark side of human nature. He and Zoie Tam are a married couple. He and Katy Kung are a pair. He and Katy had already known each other 18 years ago; later, some things happened. He and Katy have an ambiguous relationship, and there are a lot of intimate scenes.
- Joel will play Jason Fong Chi Ho (方志浩), the profit-grabbing boss of an art gallery. He will be much more gentle. He and Candice Chiu are a married couple with grudges.
- Katy will play Sam Yuet (沈越), the boss lady of a dessert shop. She is rather pure, naive, and happy. She learned painting when she was younger. She has long been acquainted with Shaun and Joel; they meet again after many years, leading to many crises. She, Terence Siu, and Amber Tang are siblings.
- Candice will play Joyce Sung Wai Kei (宋慧琪), Lee Kwok Lun's daughter. She comes from a triad family. At first, she and Joel are very affectionate; however, due to an accident, she changes and ends up having relations with a lot of guys.
- Zoie will play Queenie, a girl who is quite eager to win. She is demanding and tough, and she frequently helps her husband arrange everything for him. She is opinionated, straightforward in her speech, and mean. She has the feeling of a 'big sister'. Her relationships are rather complicated.
- Raymond Cho will play an accountant with dissociative identity disorder. Nicole Wan is his wife, but he has many girlfriends.
- Nicole will play Raymond's wife who is about to give birth.
- Amber will play Sam Hiu Tung (沈曉彤), a 14-year-old stident.
- Chloe Nguyen will play Zoie's assistant. She is slightly abnormal. She and Zoie develop a lesbian relationship.
- David Do will play Hui Chi Cheung (許志祥).
- Terence will play Tin Lam (天藍).
- Frankie Choi will play Ho Pak Nin (何柏年), a Station Sergeant.
- Amisha Ng will play Lam Ka Ching (林嘉晴).
- Irina Tang will play Lee Ming Yan (李明欣), a senior police constable.
- Rachel Wong will play Daisy Lam Seung Seung (林雙雙), a sexy secretary.
- Blossom Chan will play Mandy Leung Wai Man (梁慰敏).

- Carmen Ngai will play the younger version of Katy's character.
- Gordon Siu will guest-star as a pivotal character. He, Raymond, and Nicole have a subtle relationship.
