"The Four" Reunites to Celebrate Golden Producer Poon Ka Tak's 70th Birthday

Last night, TVB golden producer Poon Ka Tak held a 70th birthday and retirement banquet. There were 35 tables, and the gifts were donated to charity. Poon has produced many popular series, including "Triumph in the Skies", "The Hippocratic Crush", the "Detective Investigation Files" series, "Untraceable Evidence", etc. He gave newcomers an opportunity to perform, making many siu sangs and fa dans popular. Last night, former and current TVB siu sangs and fa dans, including Louis Koo, Jessica Hsuan, Raymond Lam, Ron Ng, Kenneth Ma, Liza Wang, Myolie Wu, Hacken Lee, Sammul Chan, Edmond Leung, Michael Tse, Tavia Yeung, Him Law, Jason Chan and wife Sarah Song, et al., as well as Poon's classmates from the TVB's 4th Training Class, Johnnie To, Samson Lai, et al., were in attendance. Surrounded by many stars, the lineup was stronger than the anniversary.
Louis Koo Arrives to Celebration with Jessica Hsuan
Louis and Jessica collaborated in Poon's 1999 production "Detective IV". In the series, because of Anne Heung, Louis was unable to become a pair with Jessica in the end. Last night, when Poon was on stage, he humourously pulled the two up to personally explain. Poon said, "He (Louis) asked me why I had to break the two of them apart. The plot had to be like that. Although that Anne was not pretty, she became crippled because of you...certainly needed you to take care of her for life, right?" Laughter burst out on and off the stage. Jessica expressed that she collaborated with Poon many times; the most memorable was "Detective IV"; back then, she became TV queen because of this series. She said that Poon is willing to use newcomers and is easygoing and straightforward toward people. She laughingly said, "He said that my mouth was too big, and that I should not open my mouth so wide when I laugh. He speaks very straightforwardly".
Tavia Yeung Sticks to Kenneth Ma, Him Law Pretends to Be Jealous
Tavia and husband Him went to the celebration together. "Hippocratic" is the work that brought them together, the two developing a romance and then becoming a married couple. Tavia calls Poon 'Dad'; their collaborations have a lot of unforgettable memories. Him said that "Hippocratic" brought him an award and a good wife. Tavia was even more grateful that, when she was a newcomer back then, she was given an opportunity by him to film "Eternal Happiness". In "Hippocratic", Tavia and Kenneth are actually a pair; last night, when the three were at the same place, Tavia took pictures with Kenneth, and Him pretended to be jealous, commenting, "You guys act as if there was no one else present; how can I endure this".
At the banquet, apart from the gathering of the "Street Fighters" combination, Hacken and Edmond, there was also 2008's "The Four", Raymond, Kenneth, Ron, and Sammul. Although this series was not produced by Poon, it was a rare occasion for them to be in the same place and to take pictures with each other. Raymond also shared a picture to reminisce with fans.

Too bad Sammi remembered the wrong date!

Norman Leung Appreciation Dinner

Last night, TVB Chairman Norman Leung held a dinner consisting of 19 tables at TVB City, inviting the crew of "Friendly Fire", "Sergeant Tabloid", "A Great Way to Care II", "The Voice of the Stars", and "Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2013". Close to 200 performers and staff members were in attendance. Every table had some executives, producers, and artistes sitting together. Norman said that "Triumph in the Skies II" will be having a celebration dinner in October.

Niki Chow Late for Celebration: Admits Fault by Paying Bill

A celebration was held for the successful ratings for the TVB series "Sergeant Tabloid". Female lead Niki Chow was late; however, she was willing to make up for it: "Useless to say anything. Apart from saying sorry, willing to pay the bill!" She also said that she does not have the conditions to wear a bikini to celebrate; however, if filming a sequel, would consider intensely kissing Michael Tse.

After becoming TV queen last night, Tavia Yeung has not attended any celebrations; it was only until today that she attended a new series promotion. Partner Michael Tse gave celebratory flowers. While playing games, Michael gave a ticket signed with 'Mr. Law', putting Tavia and Him Law's romance on the table. She expressed wanting to celebrate by going on a trip with her mother the most after winning an award. When asked whether Him would be included, she laughingly said, "Will have dinner with him. (Public love declaration?) Two different matters. (Didn't publicly thank him?) Many people waiting for me to thank them. He knows". As for it being said that she would be signing an additional five-year contract with TVB, she expressed that her contract with TVB has not ended yet: "If adding, must add salary first!"

After becoming TV queen last night, Tavia Yeung has not attended any celebrations; it was only until today that she attended a new series promotion. Partner Michael Tse gave celebratory flowers. While playing games, Michael gave a ticket signed with 'Mr. Law', putting Tavia and Him Law's romance on the table. She expressed wanting to celebrate by going on a trip with her mother the most after winning an award. When asked whether Him would be included, she laughingly said, "Will have dinner with him. (Public love declaration?) Two different matters. (Didn't publicly thank him?) Many people waiting for me to thank them. He knows". As for it being said that she would be signing an additional five-year contract with TVB, she expressed that her contract with TVB has not ended yet: "If adding, must add salary first!"

"Friendly Fire" Promotional Event 1

When Michael Tse attended a promotion for the new series "Friendly Fire" in Tseung Kwan O, he expressed that he has already voted online for 'Best Actor' and 'Best Actress' for TVB's anniversary awards recently. He said that, when he was working with Kate Tsui on a CNY movie last night, he was constantly blasted by her, sohe was 'forced to vote' for Kate in the end. Michael said that, for the sake of fairness, he told his wife to vote for Tavia Yeung, and also said that he thinks highly of the both of them.
Michael also said that he thinks that Raymond Lam will win TV king because he would benefit from having many fans. On the other hand, Alice Chan voted for Wayne Lai and Tavia. When asked why she she did not vote for Raymond, Alice laughingly said, "He is not my type. Prefer Wayne's acting".

Surprised that Louis was able to do the handstand on the chair during his imitation of Alan Luo...very impressive!

Michael Tse Gives Up Making Money to Be SDU
Michael Tse filmed a Sales Presentation for the new series "Sniper Attack 2013". In the series, he portrays a member of the Special Duties Unit (SDU). He expressed not feeling that it was because of "Tiger Cubs" being very popular earlier: "There are still many different stories!" (Can physically handle it?) Not okay! Have kept doing exercise, but not much!" He revealed that filming would take three months, laughingly saying that there would be fewer money-making opportunities, thereby needing TVB to compensate.
Eddie Cheung Returns to TVB: Romance with Kathy Chow
In the new series, Eddie Cheung portrays an SDU instructor who also has a subtle romantic storyline with Kathy Chow. He expressed that it has already been a year since filming series for TVB, laughingly saying that he needs to see whether he can take it or not. As for it being recently said that there has been confusion in the arrangement of schedules by PAs, he frankly said that it is expected, so can only rely on oneself to double check.
Kate Tsui Portraying Policewoman for the Seventh Time
Kate Tsui filmed a Sales Presentation for her new series. She, who had a SDU look, was on a rooftop portraying a sniper. She revealed that she would begin working in December. This time is her seventh time being a policewoman: "Perhaps everyone feels that I resemble one. In the series, must keep fighting...also afraid of not being able to physically handle it!" She revealed that the series also has Kathy Chow...greatly anticipating it.

Quite impressive for Kate to play a cop for the seventh time!
Since there doesn't seem to be any immediate plans to film a "Tiger Cubs" sequel, it makes sense for TVB to produce another SDU series.
