"Beyond Time and Space" - Louis Koo & Jessica Hsuan

The city's sweetest CP, Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan, teamed up for the first time, collaborating with McDonald's Hong Kong to release their first duet, 《無時空之戀》.

Louis expressed, "Jessica and I have worked together in series and movies for so many years, but we have never sung a duet before. Thus, this time, really wanted to surprise everyone, and it's also a great opportunity for us to fulfill [our] dream of singing together. Previously, when filming, we were even photographed holding holds at the beach, but could not say what plans we had. Now, able to finally share with everyone that Jessica and I are respectively playing McDonald's 'shogun' and 'egg'!"

Jessica expressed, "This time, I am really very happy to be able to collaborate with Louis and Raymond [Lam] to shoot an ad, and even release my first duet with Mr. Koo! The last time I officially sang was already almost 30 years ago when singing a TV series theme song; thus, this song, 《無時空之戀》, is a very rare and memorable work for me. Plus, this time, the production was super professional. Just shooting the MV, we shot for three days and three nights. Hope that everyone also likes our portrayals of the shogun and the egg".

Raymond, who made a cameo appearance in the MV, expressed, "This time, was able to make a cameo appearance in the MV. Working with Mr. Koo and Jessica, we also had great chemistry, so the entire filming process was also extremely happy. Whether it was the story in the MV or the song itself, it was full of a romantic feeling, so hope that, when everyone listens to 《無時空之戀》, he or she is also able to feel those emotions that transcend time and space".

Louis Koo, Raymond Lam, Jessica Hsuan, Sonija Kwok, Joyce Tang, and Kevin Chu went to Tseung Kwan O [today] to promote "Back to the Past", playing games with fans. Joyce had to leave midway due to work commitments. The onscreen couple of Louis and Jessica were particularly popular with fans. The two frequently bickered. Apart from Jessica twisting Louis' ear in public on stage, she also got told off and clawed him when interviewed; the scene was hilarious.

Louis expressed being happy about the $85 million box office in Hong Kong and Macau. When asked if an extended version would be released during the Lunar New Year if it surpassed $100 million, he said that he is keeping it a secret for now: "It will be released when it has to be released. In short, I am greatly looking forward to it". He also was not willing to say what the extended plot was, only revealing that he, Raymond, and Jessica have all completed their dubbing, and it is currently doing post-production.

Louis expressed that, if the global box office is good, he would consider shooting a sequel. Earlier, when he and Jessica were promoting in Malaysia, they played 'lo hei'. There was food tossed in the air by chopsticks that startled Jessica; in the end, Louis got hit on the head. [Today], he claimed that he did not get hit on the head; however, Jessica revealed, "Of course there was! We both got hit. I got scared because the clothing was sponsored". Louis then put the microphone to [her] mouth, teasing [her] for even having so many grand theories when talking about 'lo hei'. She immediately laughingly retorted, "So annoying! These old folks".

Jessica explained why she twisted Louis' ear, expressing that traditional Chinese medicine doctors say that rubbing the ears is good for health, so [she] twisted Louis' ear. "Seeing his mental state, rubbing it would make [him] more normal. Although [he] has been in a normal state for a long time, I want him to be even more normal". Louis said that, having [his] ear twisted by a girl, Jessica should not be the first one; the first one to do so was definitely his mother, because [he] was very naughty when he was little.

Louis took a photo with his mother when celebrating her birthday earlier. He said that he originally wanted to be expressionless but ended up smiling. Jessica interjected, "He would only be expressionless on his birthday...would not on his mother's birthday. Saw him smiling quite happily. Sorry...I answered for him again". Louis could not help but say, "I'll try my best to arrange to do interviews with her next time. Even answered for me about my mom's birthday. Good job!" Jessica immediately could not help but do a clawing gesture at him, causing all the fans present to scream.

Louis Koo, Jessica Hsuan, Raymond Lam, Sonija Kwok, Joyce Tang, and Kevin Chu attended an appreciation banquet for the movie "Back to the Past" in Causeway Bay last night to celebrate the box office surpassing $66 million in Hong Kong and Macau. Louis, in a rare move, blew kisses twice.

Louis expressed feeling happy about this movie's good results and still hopes to achieve even higher box office figures. Netizens posted a clip of him dancing in an MV in the past, hoping to see him dance again. Louis readily said, "If the Hong Kong box office surpasses $200 million, I'll dance! To make everyone happy. If the box office exceeds $120 million, will first sing. How come it sounds like fundraising?"

Talking about him opening an account on Threads and interacting with netizens, rapidly gaining 200,000 followers, Jessica denied being the one who got Louis into it. Louis said that he uses Discord and blogs, and has had a Threads account for a long time, but just mostly browses. During a recent movie promotion, [he] was encouraged to communicate online, so [he] complied, jokingly saying, "I'm online more diligently than Jessica now...also looked at her posts and comments".

Jessica laughingly said, "Are my posts and comments silly?" Louis said, "No. Very meaningful!" Some netizens unearthed some semi-nude photos that Louis shot in the past. He kept a slight smile and said, "Have read all of the netizens' comments; however, regarding my own photos...."

Many netizens are discussing when the extended version of "Back" will be released. Louis expressed that the editing and post-production will take three or four weeks...will observe the market's response. The box office needs to at least exceed $100 million in order to consider releasing an extended version to meet the audience's demand. Jessica added, "Some of the family life scenes are very interesting. Look forward to them being able to appear in the extended version to bring joy and memories to everyone".

In addition, a list of salaries for the cast of "Back" circulated online, claiming that Jessica received $1.5 million and Louis received no salary. Louis replied, "I am responding once on behalf of the company. We cannot disclose anything involving the company's trade secrets. Filming every movie is difficult. Every actor has put in effort. I did what I was supposed to do. It doesn't matter how hard it is; what matters is that the audience likes it. Hope that the box office will be profitable to make the atmosphere in the movie industry better".

Some viewers shot movie clips with ther phones and shared them on social media. Louis thanked helpful citizens for reporting the illegal activity and appealed to all sectors to respect intellectual property rights. "Making a movie is not easy in this generation. It is very difficult to work in the movie industry. Hope that everyone can help us. Shooting and putting videos online will harm us".

Louis' "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In" is about to start shooting a sequel. Regading Sidney Yim recommending herself to join to do action scenes, but it depends on Louis' decision, Jessica chimed in, "I also want to join. Everyone taught me. Said that 「龍捲風」 has a younger sister named 「龍鬚糖」". Louis expressed that he will discuss possibilities with Director Soi Cheang, but certainly also have to consider the safety of the actresses, as shooting action scenes would be very strenuous.

The movie "Back to the Past" will officially release simultaneously in Hong Kong and Mainland tomorrow on New Year's Eve. Today, the movie's main cast, Louis Koo, Raymond Lam, Jessica Hsuan, Sonija Kwok, Joyce Tang, Kevin Chu, Bai Baihe, Michael Miu, Jimmy Au, Power Chan, Wong Man Piu, Louis Cheung, Fish Liew, and Timmy Hung, who accompanied his father, Sammo Hung, who served as the action director, appeared on the red carpet of Tsim Sha Tsui's Avenue of Stars to attend the 'Gala Premiere Night'. Raymond immediately approached the fans upon getting out of the car, signing autographs for them and showing his approachable side.

The actors took turns going on stage to share fun and memorable moments from filming. Louis Koo, Raymond, and Jessica were the last to go on stage. Jessica said that they would see each other regularly, so they are very familiar with each other, and they were already full of chemistry as soon as they got on set; thus, there was not much to worry about. Raymond felt very touched that the movie "Back" has finally been brought to the big screen after many years and is still receiving the support of the outside world. [He] was happy to work with senior and new actors, describing the entire matter as being a great dream.

Raymond pointed out that their relationship is that of both mentor and friend: "Back then, Louis Koo taught me a lot, and is still putting money in my pocket to this day. Everyone has to pay attention to the mentor-mentee relationship in the movie, as it explores the inner worlds of the two". Louis Koo said that, from the conception to the filming to the release, he has been greatly anticipating it. He said, "Thank you, Huang Yi (the original author). Because of him, there is 'A Step into the Past'. Also, thank you, [Liu Kai] Chi; because of him, there is Dr. Koo".

Louis Koo expressed his delight at the many supporters for the movie "Back", and found it strange to see even foreigners singing 《天命最高》. The pre-sales are not only hot in Hong Kong and Mainland but also in Malaysia. Asked if he was confident in breaking the single-day box office record of the movie "The Last Dance", Louis Koo frankly said, "Hope so! Because very happy this time that there are many people supporting 'Back'. Hope that the box office can have satisfactory results".

Talking about the 15-minute interval between screenings, Louis Koo revealed that, including the midnight screenings, there are a total of 1,460 screenings on the first day in Hong Kong, mentioning that many thank-you events would be arranged afterward. On New Year's Eve, he will first bring a large group to Guangzhou to promote and attend a thank-you event, and then count down to the new year with Mainland viewers. He said, "It is also my first time not celebrating New Year's Day in Hong Kong. Every year, [I] spend it with [my] family. (Bring your family?) Cannot. My dad can't travel too far, and there will be a lot of people. It wouldn't be good if something happened. Safety first". He expressed that they will continue the promotional tour afterward. Apart from going to Guangzhou, Foshan, and Shenzhen, will also be flying to other places.

Louis Koo emphasized that he and Jessica are promoting as an onscreen couple, pointing out that it is also an achievement for her to 'tame' him. Jessica laughingly said, "Very proud! My friends also say that they enjoy watching it. It turns out that everyone likes to see him being tortured". Jessica frankly said that, because of this movie, many of the old clips are being brought up again, and she would also be very scared every time she sees them. When encouraged by Louis Koo to try being a singer, she also shook her head: "I also forgot that I danced with Grasshopper before, but certainly remember when I forgot the lyrics while singing back then. Very grateful to everyone because there are many clips that I don't have, which gives me a lot of memories. However, it's impossible for me to be a singer. [Maybe] in the next life! A little late in this life because [if I] have the identity of a singer, everyone would think that I sing very badly".

Jessica refuses to sing 《天命最高》 with Louis Koo if the box office is good because there are already many people who have made different versions of this song. However, Louis is willing to sing it: "I'm the original singer. What is there is be afraid of?!" Some actors from the televsion version did not take part in the movie version. Asking Louis Koo if he would consider adding them if a sequel to the movie version were filmed, he said, "The time for a movie is limited. Everyone also needs to understand that this movie is a continuation. Some characters may have already died in the series. Of course, I hope that more people can take part, but the runtime is limited".

Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan accepted an interview after the premiere. Louis Koo was accompanied by his good friend, Jessica, and was in high spirits the entire time. Jessica expressed that she was also surprised and found Louis Koo's chin-resting pose to be particularly adorable. Louis Koo also laughingly said, "Yeah! I don't have hands to rest my chin on now!". Although he humourously put down the microphone and 'ran away' after the interview, he eventually returned to his spot to honour his promise, readily agreeing to do the chin-resting pose with Jessica!

Jessica is nominated for TV queen for the series "The Queen of Castle". Talking about whether she would be attending the awards presentation, she expressed, "Go to the Macau awards presentation? Have to look at the work schedule. Leaving it to fate! Will go [if I] can! At this moment, promotions are very important!". With the personal support of movie king Louis Koo, Jessica expressed that it does not make much of a difference: "It's not related. It's up to the viewers to vote!" However, Louis Koo laughingly said, "After my blessing (開光), it is simply too marvelous for words!" Jessica, completely bewildered, asked Louis Koo, "I don't understand what 「開光」 is!" Louis Koo expressed in surprise, "Don't understand? Well, how come you understand 「加持」? (Jessica: 'Actually, don't understand'.) Well, [if you] don't understand, why don't you ask?! Like in 'Step', no matter what I say, she also doesn't understand. What is 「正八婆」?"

When Louis was signing autographs for Polaroid pictures the other day, Jessica complained that his signature was too big and took too much space. Louis responded, "It's just too long!", which when viral online. Today, Louis Koo first signed on the premiere's backdrop, and later expressed in an interview, "How could I sign all of it at the beginning! I am long! Will accommodate then!" This made Jessica and everyone present burst into laughter!

Artiste Raymond Lam held seven consecutive days of his "Go with the Flow" concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Tonight's last concert guest was Louis Koo. Louis Koo was dressed up as a futuristic warrior, resembling the Hong Kong version of 'Captain America', coming up to the top of the stage from a lift and posing on one knee. The two sang 《天命最高》, the theme song of "A Step into the Past" sung by Louis Koo, which brought back memories. The entire audience stood up and shouted. Louis Koo lightly danced a bit while singing, but his dancing was slightly stiff. Afterward, they sang 《今期流行》 together, and Louis Koo did the signature move with his hands. Raymond shouted excitedly, "I did it. Yeah! Thank you, boss!"

After singing, Louis Koo and Raymond shook hands and hugged each other. Louis Koo immediately knelt down to Raymond as 「項少龍」 and said, "Your Majesty, I came late because I took the time machine and went to the wrong year, [2125]". He then teased Raymond for his looks changing and his different hair colour. Raymond laughingly said, "Have no choice. Have to be trendy! Have to fit in with society. Plus, I changed my name...no longer Ying Zheng...I am Lam Fung". Louis Koo teased him, "Luckily, it's not 'Gonorrhea' (淋病)". Raymond expressed that many people have asked when the urban legend 「項少龍」 would appear on the big screen. Louis Koo finally said, "The legend will be solved on New Year's Day". Raymond excitedly told everyone to go to the cinema to support it.

Louis Koo also brought up rumours about Raymond's concert: "Said that Raymond Lam was making love to a chair. Secondly, said that the concert lights made the cameras explode, so pictures could not be taken". Raymond explained that the chair incident was not true, and the lights are in compliance with safety regulations. Louis Koo also said, "There were rumours that only your back could be seen most of the time?" Raymond expressed that, because the stage has four sides, there is always one side facing the back. Louis then excitedly took the initiative to get off the stage to shake hands with the audience. Raymond was originally standing on the stage letting him do what he wanted. Later, Louis Koo just dragged Raymond to all four sides of the stage to let the audience take pictures. Seeing Louis Cheung sitting in the audience, Louis Koo directly handed the microphone to him and domineeringly said, "Say a few words!" Louis Cheung immediately humourously called him 'Captain Hong Kong' and reminded everyone to remember to watch "Back". This made Louis Koo point to Raymond and say, "This is my first apprentice. You (Louis Cheung) are my second apprentice in the movie". Raymond also mentioned that the dancers and the band were so happy to know that they would be performing 《今期流行》 tonight, and thanked Louis Koo for appearing to fulfill everyone's dream. Afterward, Louis sang 《男朋友》 solo. Some fan in the audience held up a sign that said 'Mr. Koo Chair Performance', calling for Louis Koo to perform the chair move, which was quite funny.

After the show, Raymond celebrated with Louis Koo and Chrissie Chau by opening champagne. As for inviting Louis Koo to be the guest on the last night, Raymond expressed that those in front of and behind the stage were excited about Louis Koo's arrival. Even the band had an achievement unlocked by playing 《天命最高》. When asked how [he] would be repaying Boss Koo, Raymond expressed that he would be giving his best work attitude, and revealed that Louis Koo actually likes to sing a lot: "He really enjoys the stage. This was our first stage collaboration, but it doesn't mean that we haven't sung in private. (His favourite song is 《天命最高》?) He likes to sing Alan [Tam]'s songs".

Raymond also said that 《天命最高》 was chosen largely because the new movie "Back to the Past" will be released soon, hoping that it can evoke everyone's memories.

Speaking of another guest, Linda Chung, Raymond expressed that he knew that she had just returned to Hong Kong for work; plus, many netizens called for her. Raymond said, "She is a good younger sister. When we worked together before, she already cried easily. Is a very emotional actor. Very happy to meet again after more than ten years. She has not changed at all". Regarding many netizens calling for Kate Tsui, and it was also rumoured that the guest performer for the last show would be Kate, he said, "Really a missing person. Ron [Ng] and I both said that we don't know where she went. We are not in contact".

Artistes Louis Koo, Jessica Hsuan, Kevin Cheng, Bosco Wong, Michael Tse, Toby Chan, Wilfred Lau, et al. attended the charity premiere of "G Storm" tonight. Louis expressed confidence in the box office and insists on shooting good movies. Regarding the choice to release on New Year's Eve, it is the hope that everyone will greet the new year with the movie; it can be described as having an ulterior motive. Since [he] has to work, [he] does not know whether he would be able to go to the theatres to thank the moviegoers. As Christmas is approaching, Louis expressed that he would accompany his family whenever there is a major festival: "The weather is getting cold...have to keep an eye on [my] dad". Jessica is meeting with friends for dinner. The two's New Year's wish is the hope that the pandemic will quickly pass and to be healthy.

Mentioning that the "Storm" series shot five consecutive movies in seven years and is ending with this movie, and is not as long as his old "Troublesome Night" series, Louis suddenly revealed that two endings were shot. He said, "The other ending suggests that I am not dead. Shot another one to be safe. Can continue filming it, but chose the released version in the end...felt that it's the best as a ending". (Will there be an Easter egg at the end credits to see the second ending?). Would not. You won't see it".

Jessica revealed that her character does not need to be a hostage this time but got hunted down...had to keep running in high heels; however, because [she] twisted her ankle previously, [she] was worried about affecting the shoot. Luckily, the crew arranged for the filming of dramatic scenes first so that she had time to recuperate her foot injury. She continued saying that she had never experienced filming at the Cultural Centre and the Space Museum, and she is very happy to experience filming a big production. Regarding Louis leading the actors in singing the theme song, with Jessica also taking part, she said that, back then, the series "Old Time Buddy" brought the opportunity to release an album...has not sung again for many years; it is rare to have a chance to show off her singing voice. Louis also expressed that he does not rule out singing a love song with Jessica in the future: "Will sing if it is necessary".

Artistes Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan attended a skin care brand event. The two shared what they have been up to and their experience with skin care, and massaged the models' faces. Jessica's gestures were proficient, while Louis randomly rolled in the opposite direction, and even pretended to poke the female model's nostril; the scene was funny! The two revealed that they have been busy shooting a new film, which should be wrapping up in a few days. Louis expressed that he will be busy filming another movie before the new year; however, there will be a one-week break in the new year: "Would stay in Hong Kong and pay the relatives a new year visit every year. It is an annual tradition". Jessica revealed that she will be spending the new year in Hong Kong, and would not choose to travel during the peak season.

Speaking of the frequent collaborations in the past year, as it has recently already been their third film together, are they already tired of each other? The two laughingly said that there is an eternal chemistry. Jessica said, "When he is working, he is not free to pay attention to me, but we are both very direct people. Quite good this way. (Have you ever argued?) Really never experienced it". Louis said, "I am familiar with her personality, so I would be more at ease. Being an actor, the most important is acting out the project well. At most, there would be differing opinions". Speaking of the TVB series "A Recipe for the Heart", in which the two co-starred in over 20 years ago, which is rebroadcasting tonight, Louis laughingly said that he rarely watches his old works, and even told everyone to turn off the TV on time: "Already watched a lot during filming, so there is no need to rewatch it. Looking to the future!" On the contrary, Jessica thought that it was a very good memory: "If there is time, would watch it again. Very funny...my monkey hairstyle". However, Louis expressed that his parents saved newspaper clippings and even old videotapes for him.

Mentioning Raymond Lam, who is in the same company, getting married, Louis expressed that he would be giving a gift but has not thought about what he would be giving for the time being, and he will also be keeping it a secret first. Jessica expressed that she would see what he needs, such as what items are needed when moving house. Speaking of the downturn in the Hong Kong market, will there be even more movies and local industries? Louis expressed that it depends on the environment, and hopes that the entire industry adds oil together.

Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan, who have such a good relationship that the outside world says that the two would get married, went to sky100 to attend a promotional event for a bank today. The organizer arranged a virtual image of Jessica to appear first to make an introduction, and also broadcasted the first advertisement that the two collaborated in.

Currently, the economy has been weak. According to informal statistics, 70 percent of those working in the film industry have stopped working. As the boss of a film company, Louis said, "There really are fewer jobs, but there is work. The industry has been affected by the economic environment. There is also an impact from the audience not going [to the cinema]. Have to re-examine the needs of the market". Regarding whether there are measures to save the industry, Louis said, "Have to reduce costs. Need the help of the government in the long run". Louis stressed that he has been observing as an actor. Film investors have been cautious in recent months and will not carelessly invest in movies.

Jessica expressed on stage that she has known Louis for many years, but this time was the first time collaborating in an advertisement shoot. Louis said on stage, "Filmed together that day, but treated her as transparent on site because she was a virtual [image]". Louis laughingly said that, on the day of the advertisement shoot, Jessica shot while buying and selling stocks. He laughingly said that, although the technology has improved, in the past, he still liked going to the bank to line up.

Jessica expressed that, when she received the advertisement, she already knew that she would be collaborating with Louis, so there was no need to think about it. In addition, shooting it together, they have chemistry. Jessica laughingly said, "But he said that I was half-transparent". Regarding her knowledge on investments, Jessica expressed that you must increase your wealth, but she only relies on feeling. She said, "Only have a little bit of knowledge. Don't have great knowledge like Louis. Would listen to what others are saying, and would also do homework, but would not only listen to what one person is saying. Back then, put investments in the same basket. Now, know about diversified investments. However, I am not knowledgeable about stocks at all. Just buy buildings to invest". However, Jessica was not willing to disclose the number of her property investments.

As a boss, Louis modestly said that he does not have knowledge on investments, only listening to the fund manager's analysis. He said, "But would do diversified investments. Also have to ask people about which stocks are suitable to buy. As for buying a building, it is usually self-occupied". It is rumoured that Louis' company is recruiting TVB fa dans to sign a contract, including Nancy Wu, Linda Chung, Natalie Tong, Kristal Tin, et al. Louis stressed that he only acts. As for other things, have to ask [his] manager.

Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan are collaborating again after 17 years in the film "A Witness Out of the Blue". In the movie, robber Louis and landlady Jessica have an ambiguous romantic storyline. Although [he] and Jessica have known each other for many years and have become friends, Louis frankly said that [he] would not be unable to hold in [his] laughter in all these years of filming emotional scenes together. If an important scene has to be filmed, would have even more time to prepare, but the romantic storyline with her this time is not carved in the bones and engraved in the heart; rather, it is not overdone, and the outcome was even better. He said, "Sometimes it is too carved in the bones and engraved in the heart. May have been seen too much. Not overdone now...like the feeling of quenching the thirst. Can leave a little room for the audience". Jessica laughingly said that she would not want to laugh when working with Louis because Louis' face is very serious, but would not get scared. If one has not done wrong, would not get yelled at. She would not get scared. Regarding not being able to have a beautiful romantic ending with Louis in the movie, Jessica frankly said that, seeing the script, actually felt that it was special. Vague. In the end, there are some things to accompany her...triumphs over a perfect ending.

Unmarked Burial Set Met with Wind and Rain

Louis, who plays a robber, has a lot of gunfight scenes in the movie. One of the scenes was shot at an unmarked burial site, which coincided with the 14th day of the seventh lunar month; however, Louis frankly said that he did not feel scared. On the contrary, during the shoot, there were several days of yellow rain, and there was even black rain. Thus, [we] were not able to enter the shooting site when [we] arrived on the scene because it had already turned into a bad land. Even the car could not enter. He said, "When [I] entered, it was not about whether [I] was scared about the issue of the unmarked burial site. After the rain, there were a lot of red ants on the scene. If bitten by the red fire ants, it would be a pretty big matter! We had to shoot fight scenes and roll on the ground, so [we] were very worried. Every time [we] filmed a shot, had to use a flame gun to sear the ground so that there were no red fire ants. However, using a flame gun to sear the ground, the ground was very wet after the rain, causing the steam that had risen to be very incredible. Although it was the 14th day of the seventh lunar month when [we] went in to film, there is usually a blessing ceremony, and [you] would feel at ease. On the whole, nothing happened". Although Jessica did not participate in the unmarked burial site scene, she believes that there would be no taboos when filming, but would also be well-prepared beforehand. After hearing this, Louis laughingly said, "Spirit medium, Maoshan! Do all of these first! Also, eat the money and candles first".

Small Budget, Big Avenue

Louis, who has always been low-key, spares no effort for film and charity work. In recent years, he is the president of the [Hong Kong] Performing Artistes Guild, and also acting at the same time, shooting movie after movie from time to time, and has not stopped working. Louis frankly hopes to put some effort into the future of the film industry, and be able to produce low-budget films, and also believes that this aspect will be a great avenue in the next few years. New people can also be nurtured in the process. He said, "Thinking as an actor, Hong Kong actually has a lot of topics that can be filmed. For example, this year, [I] appreciated the movie 'Still Human'. I think that there are many topics to explore. The cost of such movies would not be like a co-production that needs a hundred or 200 million yuan. This is a market that needs to be explored and mainly developed in the future". Since the 1990s, Louis went from the TV industry to the film industry, and has been working for many years, taking part in numerous movies. Louis frankly said that the methods of acting in TV series and movies are different. Even a newcomer or a less experienced actor would do more work beforehand, and the staff would explain more to them, usually using the camera to make accommodations so that they are able to do it even more precisely, since there are more TV episodes and details, while movies would be more concentrated". Although Jessica claims that she is not as brainy as Louis, and be able to do take on a lot of work, Louis is also fully supportive of her. However, Jessica also does a lot of charity work. If necessary, would also contribute. For example, visiting children with emotional or mental problems or those with autism. Would also give small gifts every Christmas and holiday. She said, "I feel that [we] don't have to consider the scope, and [we] would still do it. Our influence is using our popularity to bring them happiness. We can do this little thing".

It Is Only Perseverance That Wins

Louis, who has been in the film industry for many years, has achieved remarkable results. In the past 20 years, he has become a prolific actor, and he even won 'Best Actor' at the Hong Kong Film Awards for "Paradox", becoming the goal of many young actors from the new generation. When asked if he could give any reminders to the new generation of actors, Louis frankly said that they must not give up, and they must persevere. He said, "Everyone's turns in life are different. Whether there are more or fewer opportunities really depends on the direction of the big trend; however, the trend of film is constantly changing. Apart from the accommodation of the market, it also depends on the needs of the audience. As the quality of foreign film continues to improve, Hong Kong movies also have to catch up. I feel that the overall change is quite big. Sometimes must look at luck when waiting for an opportunity. For example, a singer having a song that becomes a hit song or an actor encountering a project or a role also requires time and waiting. Thus, an actor must persist and not give up". Although Jessica is not as experienced as Louis in film, and even has a slower pace, she believes that acting is a job that she likes. Hope to be able to try different roles and styles. Also tried performing in a play this year. She thinks that acting is not about doing it in order to get something or to make a certain amount of money. Okay as long as you can enjoy the process. Can be considered rather lucky as she debuted earlier. There were many seniors leading them. The chances for the new generation of actors are relatively less. She said, "I feel that one should not make a fuss about whether there are more or fewer opportunities. Have to know how to seize it. I always believe that one should work hard. If one does not work hard, do not even have to think about it. This industry is very interesting; luck is very important! May work very hard, but there is no luck. When luck comes, have to grasp it. Always believe that it is only enduring strength that wins".

Talking About Each Other's Merits

Louis and Jessica became friends from filming TV series together, collaborating again after 17 years this time in "Witness". Louis frankly said that there was no collaboration for a period of time, and they also did not meet up much, but still highly praised Jessica's merits: "For a female, [she] is rather frank and easy to get close to". He said, "Everyone has a different personality. May also have reservations when talking a little more, but Jessica would not. She is very straightforward and takes the initiative. These are her big merits. We have not seen each other for many years. The biggest difference is that there is no change. There would be changes in personality and would also see things differently. In fact, being yourself is actually the most difficult". Louis, who is known for having many friends, has good relationships in the industry. As one of Louis' friends, Jessica laughingly said that Louis is very serious on the outside but is very good-hearted. She said, "I feel that, if a person likes small animals, he or she cannot be that bad on the inside! Louis is a very filial person. Not many people can do the things he does for the industry. Even if they have the ability, they may not be willing to use the energy to do it. Sometimes I see him not having to be in position for work, but his mind is constantly thinking. I admire him the most when I send him a message, and he would definitely reply. Even if he cannot reply immediately, he would reply later".

Regarding good friend Jessica being single now, would Louis look for a good guy for her? He said, "What?! Just talked about being busy with work". When asked what type of guys are suitable for Jessica, he said, "I think that a suitable guy for her has to have even more things to talk about than she does! Or someone who does not talk at all. Has to be really extreme in order to be suitable, but certainly has to like dogs". When talking about whether a suitable partner for Jessica needs to be like him in the movie, who even donated his corneas to her, Louis laughingly said, "In order to be with her, the first most important thing is certainly not donating the corneas but donating all of [his] wealth to her".

Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan attended the premiere of their starring movie, "A Witness Out of the Blue". The organizer specially prepared cakes for Louis (whose birthday was on the 21st) and Philip Keung, who will be having a birthday, to celebrate their birthdays. During the premiere, a small incident occurred in which a female fan of Louis' kept yelling in Mandarin below the stage, "I am Louis Koo's wife", causing a commotion. However, Louis, who was on the stage, remained calm.

Louis just turned 49 years old. During the interview, he expressed that his birthday wish was hoping to be healthy because [one] is only able to do other things if [one] is healthy. He celebrated his birthday with his family. This year, he did not celebrate with a fan gathering due to being worried about traffic issues.

Jessica laughingly said that she already gave Louis a birthday present, and even guaranteed that he would definitely like it. She said that she would remember her friends' birthdays every year because they would be recorded in her reminders. When it is a friend's birthday, [she] would send a text to wish her friend [a happy birthday]. Louis laughingly said that he also remembered Jessica's birthday; Jessica laughingly said, "But it was a day late. Remembering it for a lifetime".

Louis has expectations for the box office but thinks that the box office cannot be controlled. Hope that everyone watches it happily. Jessica said that there is more pressure for film than TV; hope that there are good results for the box office so that there is an explanation to the investors. Regarding what kind of roles the two hope to play if they were to collaborate again, Louis said that Jessica hopes to play an antagonist so that there is a breakthrough. Jessica laughingly said, "Well, it does not necessarily have to be an antagonist. Also want to try playing a doctor with autism, like in American series".

Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan collaborated in series and have been a couple in series many times, with the most memorable being "A Step into the Past". Afterward, the two worked in separate areas. Louis has been working in the movie industry for many years, while Jessica has been stepping into film in recent years. Recently, the two collaborated again in the movie "A Witness Out of the Blue", reuniting after 17 years but still in harmony. The two accepted an interview together earlier. They talked and laughed. When having their pictures taken, Louis even imitated Jessica's dialogue in a product advertisement, as he looked at her and said, "An eyesore. Eyes blazing with anger". Upon hearing it, Jessica laughed loudly.

Jessica said that she was already full of anticipation before the start of filming. Felt that this partner has matured a lot: "I saw him enter the industry. Saw him change. 'Happy Harmony' was the first collaboration. Went from not talking in the beginning back then, and being very quiet. I always struck up a conversation with him. He would only say a sentence or two. Now, [he] has changed. I am not the one who strikes a conversation with him. He is the one who slowly changed. Back then, as an actor, he was on the quiet side. Then he left the company and developed his own career, and now he has such a big kingdom. Back then, as an actor, he would only joke and play. Now, he does things very seriously. He is able to consider the many aspects of a situation and see many things". She feels that Louis is very focused on his work and has seen his transformation: "Experienced many things, matured a lot as a person, and changed in a good way. From my perspective, think that it would be even better if he can be more relaxed. He is able to do what he likes and help a lot of people at the same time. Keeping the movie industry moving. Also doing charity, good to children, and setting up schools, he would be very busy, but it's okay as long as he's happy".

However, Louis feels that Jessica has not changed much, and has not changed herself because of the world: "Really feel that she is not much different. Not saying her appearance but her personality; this is the most rare because, in this industry, you would lose your own character. It is very difficult to maintain your own personality and be able to survive. Sometime I hear people say, 'How do you survive with such a personality?' However, sometimes it is not necessarily so. I think that it cannot be generalized. The most important is that she has worked in this industry for so long and has not have been polluted by this industry. I think that there would be changes, which are changes while growing, but she is still herself". Moreover, he praised his friend for being virtuous, liking small animals, and paying attention to the balance of life: "She has arranged a well-organized life for herself. Well-balanced in her work and private life...in all aspects! However, seems to travel a bit too close in time".

The two would meet at friends' dinners from time to time but do not deliberately look for topics on their own. Since Louis' participation in film production increased, with multiple roles on the movie set, compared to being an actor in the past, it is very difficult to have time to chat. Louis said, "It is already better for this one. Just finished filming that one ('Back to the Past'), and could not even say one thing. [Was so busy] with that one that [I] fainted. This one is already better". However, they have a lot of memories. Still remember the tidbits of filming series in the past. Jessica said, "Played a lot crazily back then. I also don't treat him as a man. He treats me as a man more than I treat him as a woman. Like I would be sitting on a chair in the office. He is able to kick me off the chair. Seeing me, unable to control wanting to kick me". Louis explained, "At the time, she had just returned from a foreign country. Usually, girls who returned from a foreign country are easier to get along with. I describe her as crazy and does not really worry about minor matters. Sometimes easier to get along with. Would not be divided into men and women. Would not treat a lot of girls in the same series like this; only treat her like this. So busy now, so there is no time to play like this".

In "Witness", Louis plays a robber. While fleeing, he goes to Jessica's house to rent a place. The two become acquainted with each other, but Louis gets shot and killed; however, he donates his corneas, making Jessica, who has vision problems, be able to see again, but they are unable to be together. For the audience, it is inevitable that there is disappointment that the two are unable to walk down their path in bliss, but Jessica really likes this sad and beautiful ending: "This is the successful part of TV. Able to create a lot of couples. Because viewers look at the outer appearance, as long as the series is written very successfully, it will create an illusion to the viewers. Just as I really wanted 'Do Jeh' [Carol Cheng] and 'Fat Gor' [Chow Yun Fat] to be together when I was really young...became embedded in [my] mind". On the other hand, Louis calmly analyzed the appeal of the story from the perspective of a producer: "If a single love line can be like this, the love line must also have tentative elements; however, this movie is not mainly about the love line. Actually, the tentativeness is better than two people being together. I want the audience to still have hope when they leave the theatre. If I am with her, but I died, the audience would be even sadder. Now, I died. Aiya! One step away from not being able to be together would be better. Also better for his ending". Jessica added, "I think that his death is quite okay".

If Louis is not arranged to die in the movie? Louis said that this was impossible: "In the movies now, the bad guys must die. Actually, I can not die but must be brought to justice". Jessica also feels that Louis has to leave in the movie: "When I was acting it out, also felt that this matter was very nice. Left, but the world in which I look at things seems as though it is him. Although the two people did not get together, [the eyes] make it seem as though the two are actually together. I have acted for so long but have not experienced such a plot, so I liked it a lot once I read it".

The new movie "A Witness Out of the Blue", starring Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan, is releasing soon. In the movie, Louis is violent toward Jessica, accidentally injuring her neck. Louis said, "The scene tells of me confronting her with the danger of death, covering her head with a jacket, and then slamming her head into the wall. The director wanted to use one shot. Nothing went wrong during rehearsal. Some people become claustrophobic when their heads are covered. I also asked Jessica beforehand; she said that it was okay. I already told her that, if anything were to happen, [she should] immediately call a halt to it and not force it, but she did not call a halt to it". Jessica said that she did not want to affect the progress of the shoot, so she did not ask to immediately be hospitalized. She thinks that filming is like this. She gets injured every time she films a fight scene, so it was expected. The most important is achieving the effect. She revealed that, when she previously filmed "Line Walker: The Prelude", she cut her finger on a stone table; there was a stream of blood, and it hurt so much that could not speak. Moses Chan ran over, looked at her, and said, "Your hand is bleeding!" The director did not yell 'cut'. She would rather bear the pain and finish the scene.

Louis is not hitting a woman for the first time. Fought even more ruthlessly with a Korean actress in the movie "Line Walker". It was so ruthless that [he] could not help but say to the action director, Chin Ka Lok, that it was ridiculous. They are not scared of filming action scenes; rather, [they] are afraid of explosion scenes. Jessica said, "There have been actresses who had injured their faces while filming explosion scenes. Told me to be careful". Louis is most afraid of flying fragments injuring the innocent and being fatal.

Not Scared of Action Scenes, Afraid of Explosion Scenes the Most

The two are collaborating again after ten-plus years. Are the other person's acting skills different from the past? Louis said that he is old now. [His] perspective on every matter and role is different. This time, his screen time with Jessica is not much...hope to collaborate on a romance film in the future; the execution will be even better. Jessica feels that Louis' acting is very stable...handles everything with ease. Is able to do it once [he] gets into position. "He was also able to do it back then. For emotional scenes, able to cry on cue".

Looking forward to filming a romance film? Louis revealed having just completed a film in which they play a married couple; however, it has not been released yet. As for the original lineup filming the movie version of "A Step into the Past", Jessica expressed being very happy. Louis said, "Everyone has changed. Many have gotten married and have children, unlike the unconstrained feeling of the past. Now, there are some burdens".

Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan's fate began from collaborating in the 1994 TVB sitcom "Happy Harmony". After the series "A Step into the Past" wrapped 18 years ago, they have not collaborated on screen until Jessica signed under his [company] earlier, reuniting in the new movie "A Witness Out of the Blue". The two have an ambiguous relationship in the movie. After the death of career criminal Louis, his corneas are donated to Jessica, who has amblyopia, leaving behind 'love' in the world.

Collaborating again after many years, Jessica laughingly said that she and Louis still have chemistry. During the interview, they made jabs at each other. It was rare to see 'Mr. Cool' smile. He said, "My character has a serious case of insomnia and visual hallucinations. Only had a safe haven and was able to relieve stress after renting and living in Jessica house". Inside and outside of the movie, Jessica's optimism influences Louis, becoming his 'comfort zone'.

Although Louis commits crimes in the movie, he does not allow 'suffering an injustice', trying his best to 'seek justice' for his brothers. He said, "For my character, helping his brothers is more important than his life. (Very similar to yourself?) Rather, there is relative importance and urgency of matters. Would do whatever is important first". He also said that filming the wrap-up scene was unforgettable: "A few days before the shoot, there was black rain. Discovered a lot of red ants. I also had to roll on the ground. Was also worried about the staff getting bitten. Had to use fire to clear the area every time [we] got into position".

Pushing Partner to Be a Bad Person

When Jessica was asked whether she would donate her organs in reality? She said, "When I was 18, I got my driver's licence in England. At the time, a question about being an organ donor was included, so I readily signed it. Although these things are taboo for Chinese people, who feel that the whole body has to be retained, I feel that it is okay as long as I am not [left] cut open. Would definitely be stitched back together". When asked what roles she wants to play in the future, Louis answered first, "She rarely plays antagonists. Give her a bad person to play". Jessica immediately said, "Yes. At most, I have just played the first wife who bullies the second wife!"

When Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan shot a poster for their new film "A Witness Out of the Blue" earlier, the staff suddenly brought out a cake to belatedly celebrate Jessica's birthday. She was extremely surprised: "Already passed the actual birthdate...did not expect them to do a belated celebration for me. Plus, as one gets older, do not celebrate one's birthday as much. [My] wish is to hope that everyone is healthy and happy". While eating the cake, Jessica said that it was delicious but also said that it was very fattening, saying that [she] was already very happy for everyone to be able to calmly eat cake together.

Jessica, who has not filmed a movie for many years, is acting in "Witness" this time, collaborating with old partner Louis again after 17 years. Jessica laughingly said that Louis' character, Wong San Yuen, in the movie is very strange. Similar to Louis in real life...also does not like to talk. In the movie, the two are playing landlady and tenant...an ambiguous relationship. Jessica said, "On the surface, they have no relationship, but the atmosphere feels as though something will happen. In the end, a relationship does not develop. In a lot of movies, the romantic storylines are like this. After starting, the happy and special feeling is lost. The ambiguous time is always the most special".

Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan Collaborate Again After 17 Years

stheadline Clip

The suspense film "A Witness Out of the Blue", starring Louis Koo, Louis Cheung, Jessica Hsuan, Cherry Ngan et al., will be releasing next month. This time, Louis Koo and Jessica are collaborating 17 years after the TV series "A Step into the Past". The two are friends offscreen; however, in the film, Louis Koo tries to kill Jessica. Apart from putting a jacket over Jessica's head from behind, [he] even had to forcefully push her into the corner of the wall, which resulted in inadvertently hurting Jessica's neck. Fortunately, there were no problems. Jessica laughingly said, "I will not blame Louis Koo; he will treat everyone to a meal...ha ha!" Louis Koo continued, "Originally planned on doing it in a few scenes separately, but the director suggested that we try doing it all at once. Perhaps I also put too much force into it! I did tell Jessica that, if she could not do it, then she should yell 'cut', but she was very good. Did not yell 'cut' the entire time. Completed it while enduring the pain. Was indeed a bit of a surprise!"

Later, Jessica had to stretch and apply a cool towel on her wound, and revealed that she understands Louis Koo's seriousness and professionalism all too well, and is scared of filming fight scenes with him the most. She said, "Originally had a double prepared, but the director and Louis Koo suggested that I do it myself. I also agreed that this would make the scene look better. During filming, when [I] heard [my] neck make a cracking sound, already knew the gravity of the situation, but there was already a 'crack'. Had to finish the scene because then this sacrifice would be worth it!" Jessica continued laughingly saying, "Originally made a bone-setting appointment two weeks ago. Now, Louis Koo misaligned it for me. Going to fix it again, it feels more cost-effective!"

When asked whether Louis Koo was concerned about her injury, Jessica immediately lowered her voice to imitate Louis Koo: "Go put some ice on it!" The room burst with laughter! When the two got into position again, Louis Koo even attentively adjusted the position of the towel for Jessica so that she was more comfortable when lying on the sofa. Jessica responded with a smile and hit Louis Koo, proving their deep friendship.
