Yesterday, Kenneth Ma attended "TV Awards Presentation 2025". During an interview on the red carpet, he said there was little confidence in competing for TV king. Mentioning his father's passing earlier, he said that the posthumous matters have not been completed yet and expressed, "Still feeling quite heavy-hearted. Thanks to everyone for your concern". Kenneth said that his father passed away peacefully in his sleep, which is considered a blessing for his elderly father.

Says That Wife Roxanne Tong Is Experiencing Insomnia

During the interview, Kenneth suddenly burst into tears when recollecting about his father. He said, "My father sometimes told me that I have already started a family and also have to take care of my father and mother. He was also scared of it being hard for me. I also always told him that I don't have much pressure and that I could live for a few decades more". When talking about the last time he had interacted with his father, he expressed, "Talking to him in the hospital".

When asked if there was a regret that his father's dream of having a grandchild was unfulfilled, he said, "Actually, he did not push it, but thinking back, if there were a grandchild sooner, he would have been happier! Unfortunately, already cannot do anything about it to make it come true. Hope that he's watching over me from heaven". As for whether he would try to spend more time with his mother, he frankly said that he would definitely spend more time with her; however, there are many family issues to deal with at the moment. Speaking of his wife, Roxanne Tong, being said to have gained weight, Kenneth expressed, "There was a period of time when she was also not sleeping well and also had insomnia. As a man, I have to support my family and take care of my wife and home". Kenneth continued saying that he is grateful to his wife for being by his side all along.

"TVB 58th Anniversary Gala" was held tonight. Samantha Ko, Kenneth Ma, and Moses Chan were the last to walk on the red carpet. Samantha wore a yellow off-shoulder dress that revealed half of her back to take on the group of juniors with sexy outfits. She said, "I think that it's extremely good that everyone dresses up nicely for the anniversary gala. Support them to dress up nicely. I am also not that old...there are no seniors or juniors. My dress is see-through. Look at how pretty my back is. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Asking about Kenneth's and Moses' 'conservative' attire, Kenneth laughingly asked, "Huh? Guys also have to be (sexy)? Leave it to the younger ones". Samantha added that she saw that many male juniors were dressed 'refreshingly', specifically mentioning that she saw Chow Ka Lok without an undershirt: "He had a bit of his chest out...seemed topless in front of me. I also felt a little embarrassed".

Asked if there was confidence in winning the big anniversary prizes, Samantha said that she wants to win cash, having previously won $100,000 in a variety programme and a smaller prize at an anniversary gala; thus, she looks forward to winning a big prize tonight. Kenneth's and Moses' greatest bliss is taking good wives, so leaving the lucky draw to Samantha. Moses laughingly said that, all these years, he has gained nothing.

Kenneth expressed that he will be performing a catwalk and has already asked Moses, who used to be a model, for advice. Asking about his 'early deaths' in two of the anniversary series, he said, "It's just filming series. Dying early or late also doesn't matter. (Has your confidence in competing for the TV king award declined?) This year, the competition is so strong. There's Roger Kwok, Bowie Lam, Moses, and Bosco Wong. It's also a good thing that there were no series that [I] starred in this year. There's also no use competing". At the end, Samantha was asked about the black-and-white stills that she had uploaded on her social media the other day, which some netizens had mistaken that she had taken pictures at Benz Hui's funeral. She said, "Actually, I don't need to explain anything that I do to anyone".

Artistes Samantha Ko and Kenneth Ma made a grand appearance at TVB's Sales Presentation this afternoon. Samantha stole the spotlight in a black backless evening gown. She stars in four series, including "The Airport Diary II", "Martial Arts World", "The Game of the Married", and "The Radiant City", while Kenneth is responsible for starring in "Airport", "Game", and "Wars of the Roses". The two collaborated in two of these series, which explains why Samantha joked, "Feel very safe following Kenneth all day today. The company should add an onscreen couple or golden combination award. Then we'd have a chance to win".

Despite their busy work schedules, both expressed being quite happy. Samantha is grateful to the company and the producers for the opportunities, while Kenneth admitted that, because there are fewer opportunities to film series than before, [he] particularly cherishes it. Currently working on two series, [he] has to travel back and forth between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and while [he] looks tired, [he] also does not find it a problem. As for the other series, "Radiant", filming had been halted for a period of time due to script issues. Samantha revealed, "Received all of the scripts. The schedule has already been arranged. Should be commencing work in early November. (Can what was previously shot still be used?) Well, it depends on the arrangement of the producer and director. The plot is the same, so it should be usable. My character has fewer changes, while others have more changes, but the plot is even more captivating. (Can it make it in time to release this year?) It should be next year. We are shooting until next January. Can have time off during the Lunar New Year".

Talking about the deceased senior Benz Hui, Samantha immediately broke down emotionally with tears rolling down and was almost unable to speak. [Her] voice was shaking as [she] responded, "Went to see him yesterday. It was sudden. Very grateful to have met him in this life. I always play his daughter, so I also call him 'Dad' in private...." Then [she] choked up. Kenneth took over, "Remember when I just came out...acting was immature and got scolded by Benz. He asked me, 'Isn't it better for me to scold you now than to be scolded by viewers the next day?' Thus, I always tell people in interviews that he is actually my idol. I want to learn his acting and to not socialize so much, and focus on doing a good job as an actor. It's really a pity that such a good senior has left".

TVB's annual event "TV Awards Presentation 2024" was held tonight at the Grand Lisboa Palace. 'My Favourite TVB Actor in a Leading Role (Greater Bay Area)' and 'My Favourite TVB Actress in a Leading Role (Greater Bay Area)' were won by Kenneth Ma for "The Airport Diary" and Tavia Yeung for "Darkside of the Moon"! Kenneth expressed that he felt very happy: "Did not expect a series that aired at the beginning of the year would also be able to win an award at the end of the year. Very thankful to the viewers who voted for me, the crew of 'Airport', and the airport's control team for their full support!"

Tavia expressed that she was actually very nervous, so she became emotional because she had never thought that the TV king and queen of the Greater Bay Area would be presented so quickly: "It's my first time winning it, so I am really very happy because I have already collected all of the awards, and I have already not received an award for 12 years. Was a bit unfamiliar and did not know what to say. Was nervously emotional". When it was said that her eyes were red, Tavia admitted that it may be because she is sleepy rather than wanting to cry, and revealed that she was also very scared that '[if] there is one, then there would be no second one'; however, she also looks forward to winning 'TV Queen' again.

The two expressed that they actually really look forward to working together, but have also not had the right timing thus far...hope to have the opportunity to work together again, even expressing the desire to try out funny roles. Kenneth frankly said that, as long as they can work together, 'can do anything'. Kenneth revealed that, although "Airport" was released at the beginning of the year, it actually ranks third in the ratings. Felt very happy to receive an award from Kent Tong. Asked whether Kenneth's wife, Roxanne Tong, was present to show her support, he said, "No, she thought that I would not be winning an award". When asked whether there would be an opportunity of having a baby to celebrate, Tavia immediately expressed that she has already done it...see if Kenneth would be in the mood today. Kenneth immediately nervously expressed letting nature take its course!
