Artiste Sammul Chan went to a radio station to attend a TV programme event. Regarding him seeming to have gotten a lot more muscular, he revealed that he worked on building his muscles earlier, but [his] health has not been good recently, and [he] is frequently sick. When asked whether too much wealth deteriorated [his] health, he laughingly said, "Don't always talk about this direction. It's sleeping late and watching videos and such". When asked whether he would rewatch his previous series, he immediately said, "Would not! Especially 'A Bride for a Ride', which is currently broadcasting in the morning. Last night, TVB golden producer Poon Ka Tak held a 70th birthday and retirement banquet. There were 35 tables, and the gifts were donated to charity. Poon has produced many popular series, including "Triumph in the Skies", "The Hippocratic Crush", the "Detective Investigation Files" series, "Untraceable Evidence", etc. He gave newcomers an opportunity to perform, making many siu sangs and fa dans popular. Surrounded by many stars, the lineup was stronger than the anniversary.

Louis Koo Arrives to Celebration with Jessica Hsuan

Louis and Jessica collaborated in Poon's 1999 production "Detective IV". In the series, because of Anne Heung, Louis was unable to become a pair with Jessica in the end. Last night, when Poon was on stage, he humourously pulled the two up to personally explain. Poon said, "He (Louis) asked me why I had to break the two of them apart. The plot had to be like that. Although that Anne was not pretty, she became crippled because of you...certainly needed you to take care of her for life, right?" Laughter burst out on and off the stage. Jessica expressed that she collaborated with Poon many times; the most memorable was "Detective IV"; back then, she became TV queen because of this series. She said that Poon is willing to use newcomers and is easygoing and straightforward toward people. She laughingly said, "He said that my mouth was too big, and that I should not open my mouth so wide when I laugh. He speaks very straightforwardly".

Tavia Yeung Sticks to Kenneth Ma, Him Law Pretends to Be Jealous

Tavia and husband Him went to the celebration together. "Hippocratic" is the work that brought them together, the two developing a romance and then becoming a married couple. Tavia calls Poon 'Dad'; their collaborations have a lot of unforgettable memories. Him said that "Hippocratic" brought him an award and a good wife. Tavia was even more grateful that, when she was a newcomer back then, she was given an opportunity by him to film "Eternal Happiness". In "Hippocratic", Tavia and Kenneth are actually a pair; last night, when the three were at the same place, Tavia took pictures with Kenneth, and Him pretended to be jealous, commenting, "You guys act as if there was no one else present; how can I endure this".

At the banquet, apart from the gathering of the "Street Fighters" combination, Hacken and Edmond, there was also 2008's "The Four", Raymond, Kenneth, Ron, and Sammul. Artiste Sammul Chan accepted an i-CABLE entertainment news interview. During this, he revealed that he previously secretly dated someone in the industry. He said, "Very few people knew about this matter. At the time, really did not think about making it public. As an artiste, already baring it all for the public when going to work. Two people's matter, so certainly hope to be low-profile!" The reason that Sammul only admitted the relationship now is nothing more than the fact that the past love had already passed early on. When he was asked whether he would secretly get married in the future, he said, "Perhaps. I am a person who would suddenly do anything!" He said that he has a cautious personality, and would think before he acts. In terms of love matters, he does not even dare to publicize it. Thinking back, also feel regretful!" He, who left TVB early on, admitted to being the earliest to 'run way from home', but he frequently runs into Ron, Raymond, etc. now in Hengdian, making up for the brotherhood after leaving at long last. Recently, there has been much news on TVB's change of ownership, many dong ka fa dans and siu sangs are leaving the company, and those who have regained their freedom have been yelling at their previous employer. Sammul Chan, who has gone up north to make money, has also been said to have 'blasted' TVB. Because of a few ten dollars for a show, [he] refused to sign a contract. Sammul Chan Discusses His Peers @ Hunan TV Interview

Sammul Chan recently accepted an interview with Hunan TV while he was doing promotions for Mainland series "Mei Ren Xin Ji". Here is a translation of the part where his peers, Raymond Lam, Kenneth Ma, Bosco Wong, and Ron Ng, were mentioned.

Interviewer: "As viewers, we think that you, Raymond Lam, Kenneth Ma, Bosco Wong, and Ron Ng set a generation".

Sammul Chan: "Fortunately, I was able to make it into this last generation. Don't know why, but doesn't seem to be any afterward, right?"

Interviewer: "Afterward, there weren't any people who were able to take over".

Sammul Chan: "Fortunately, was able to catch the last train".

Interviewer: "Actually, the five of you...would you guys be considered to have a good relationship, considering that you work in the same company?"

Sammul Chan: "Quite good. Quite good because we all started from--how do you say--a very low status and struggled together".

Interviewer: "Before, when filming together, would think that.... There were rumours saying that this one is fighting with this one, and that that one is fighting with that one. Also, this one does not get along, and that one is fighting for screen time. Thus, some people would think that who and who are on one side, and who and who are on another side. Is this true? Also, I remember that, at the time of 'Mei Ren Xin Ji', Myolie Wu came to film it. Some reporters said that you were helping Bosco keep an eye on Myolie; however, reporters asked Bosco afterward, and he would say, 'No, it seems that he is not as familiar with me as he is with Myolie'".

Sammul Chan: "What does that mean?"

Interviewer: "That you are more familiar with his girlfriend, and that you are not that familiar with him".

Sammul Chan: "Yes, I am more familiar with Myolie because I filmed more series with her. Afterward, I didn't film with Bosco. Didn't film at all! I have always been filming with Ron! Then with Myolie....

Interviewer: "Occasionally with Raymond".

Sammul Chan: "Raymond. Yes, even in 'The Four', there was no Bosco! Yes, I haven't filmed with him for many years! Don't know why. Perhaps he dislikes me.... Ha ha! Just joking! Just joking!"

Interviewer: "Do the five of you actually have a good relationship or…?"

Sammul Chan: "Good, good".

Interviewer: "It's really good?"

Sammul Chan: "You think it's false?"

Interviewer: "Don't know about this!"

Sammul Chan: "What do you want to say?"

Interviewer: "Nothing. Just really wanted to ask".

Sammul Chan: "Not bad. Not...not good to the point that we would have dinner with each other every day or go shopping together, but for some things, we would send a message. For example, a birthday, the new year, etc. Occasionally, would also have dinner because many of the times, we would meet. For example, I filmed the most with Ron--would always meet...don't know why, so more familiar with him. As for Kenneth, also not bad. Raymond later sang...he doesn't film series as much, so don't see each other as much".

Sammul Chan: "Yes".

Interviewer: "Also, you and Ron even guest-starred in Michael Tse's movie together!"

Sammul Chan: "Yes, very sad! Don't want to see him!"

Sammul Chan Blasts TVB for Offering Low Prices to Keep Artistes

Sammul Chan, who was previously promoted by TVB, resolutely left the company last year to go up north to develop his career. When interviewed the other day, he revealed some behind-the-scenes insider information, saying that TVB offered unreasonable terms for a contract renewal. It would be a 10-year contract with no salary increase, which made him discouraged.

In recent years, many of TVB's first-line fa dans and siu sangs have been leaving the company to go up north to film series. Apart from helping to expand the Chinese market, the salary is also much higher! Currently 32 years old, Sammul Chan joined the 'Going Up North Army' last August, and ended his relationship with TVB. The other day, Sammul accepted i-CABLE's interview, and revealed the reason behind his bitterness: "After my contract, I discussed contract renewal with the company; however, there was a dispute over a few 10 dollars raise--so not worth it!" He also revealed that he once considered becoming TVB's 'biological son', but backed out because the terms were harsh: "An executive invited me to discuss the matter of signing a contract. In the terms, it clearly stated that it would be a 10-year contract, but the salary would remain the same. I don't want to argue about anything, but who can guarantee that no one will offer me jobs two years afterward? At that time, how can I live on?"

During the interview, Sammul spoke in Cantonese, and the feeling was refreshing: "Before, I was forced to speak Mandarin. Every time [I] attended events, [I] had to hide and avoid being on camera. Clearly already the biggest station...what are they afraid of?" When mentioning having once been promoted along with Ron Ng, Bosco Wong, and Kenneth Ma by TVB, in his heart, he felt that it was not quite right seeing all the others get a higher rank. He said: "Clearly put in effort into [my] work, and was acknowledged by the audience, but my peers received awards after awards, while I only stood on the side--didn't even have a part in the nominations". He also directly said that being 'obedient' is the way to survive in TVB: "I don't know how to do that!" Regarding this matter, the reporters contacted TVB's Assistant Director of Foreign Affairs, Tsang Sing Ming, to confirm. He said: "Sammul Chan's contract with TVB has already expired. [He] is now a freelance artiste, and [his] relationship with us is still good. He even agreed to come back to help with the promotions of the new series. If he really has opinions, I will try to get an understanding of it".

Producer Wong Wai Sing Thinks Highly of Kenneth Ma and Tavia Yeung

Out of the younger generation of fa dans and siu sangs, who does Wong Wai Sing think has the most potential? He said, "In 'The Academy' series, I have always worked with Ron Ng and Sammul Chan, so I have watched them grow and have the potential to lead. Especially Kenneth Ma. I have seen him grow and continually improve from minor roles to a lead who can carry a series. He really likes to act. As for fa dans, I think that Tavia Yeung has the most potential. She graduated from TVB's acting class; now, we can see that her acting is more mature".

Summary:

Chin Ka Lok Wants to Be This Year's 'Best New Singer'

Chin Ka Lok, Sammul Chan, Nancy Wu, and the rest of the cast of "A Bride for a Ride" were at a promotional event. After this promo, Sammul said that he will be leaving to Heng Dian to film a Mainland series: "Louisa So is in the states and Gigi Wong is back in Canada, so Ka Lok will be responsible for playing many characters at the later promos".

This is Chin Ka Lok's second time being main, and it is his first time singing a TVB theme song. Chin Ka Lok is very fitted for the character of Wong Lo Fu. Catherine Chau's character sleeps all the time, so you can see her in the back sleeping when Nancy Wu is acting. A female voicing staff dubbed all of Sammul's dressing up as a girl scenes in the series. Ha ha... This is going to be Louisa So's second time playing Gigi Wong's daughter-in-law. Ha ha....

Ron Ng & Sammul Chan @ 《變節》 Filming

Michael Tse, Ron Ng, and Sammul Chan were spotted in Tsim Sha Tsui filming Laughing Gor's movie. In the movie, Ron and Sammul are making special guest appearances as 'no name' police cadets with only a minute of screen time. As they are not playing their characters in "The Academy" series, they even have different PC numbers. Ron and Sammul both expressed that they are not taking any pay for filming the movie.

Raymond Lam: Sammul Chan's Super Correct Pronunciation

Interviewer: Let's ask you. Is there anyone around you who has a super amount of lazy sounds or has super correct pronunciations [in their speech]?
Raymond: There are super lots with a super amount of lazy sounds, and a few with super correct pronunciations.
Interviewer: Let's talk about the super lazy sounds. Are there any colleagues with a super amount of lazy sounds?
Raymond: Actually, there are a lot of colleagues with a super amount of lazy sounds.

Raymond: I obviously will not say whom.
