Alice Chan Leading the Prequel to "Themis" and Sparking a Fierce Battle, Kelly Cheung and Moon Lau Starting a War in Court

"Themis" has been receiving a hot response after its broadcast. Apart from becoming the top-rated [series] in the first half of the year, it has accumulated over 420 million views on a Mainland streaming platform. Thus, TVB is taking advantage of the situation to film the prequel "Model Lawyer Team", focusing on Alice Chan's character, revealing her mysterious past as she transforms into 「高淑樺」 and becomes a mother. Apart from having several court cases as stories, it will also interweave the open and veiled strife among lawyers for the position of chief lawyer, shifting the battlefield from the juvenile court of "Themis" to the adult courtroom. The script production is currently in full swing, with filming tentatively scheduled to commence in June, which is earlier than the spin-off of "The QUEEN of News", "Information Officer Hui Si Ching", starring Samantha Ko.

No Difficulty in Playing a Lawyer Again

In terms of casting, the female lead this time is Alice. Most of the characters from "Themis" will not appear, with TVB's two fa dans, Kelly Cheung and Moon Lau, taking over. In addition, three-time TV king Gallen Lo is also in talks and could potentially join the cast! In an interview with on.cc, Alice remained tight-lipped about all of the details of the new series and only expressed, "How come so incredible at getting inside information? Everything is in the confidential stage. Leave it to the official announcement!"

Kelly, who is currently on holidays, admitted to doing preparations for the new series: "Have to have a meeting with Director Kai (Chung Shu Kai) soon to hear the story". She said that she has always been chasing "Themis" and is very happy to take part in filming the prequel: "I really like Alice's character in the series. Recently worked with her in 'This City Never Sleeps'...greatly looking forward to collaborating again". (Have you played a lawyer before?) I played one in 'Legal Mavericks 2020'. Really like playing a lawyer. Being able to play one again, greatly looking forward to it! Believe that the lines won't be difficult for me. I like playing professionals. Also had a lot of lines when playing a doctor before, so playing a lawyer shouldn't be a problem". As for Moon, she revealed that, for the time being, she knows very little about the new series: "[After] I'm done being busy with [my] Foshan concert on May 2nd, I'll be preparing for the new series. Although the character and the plot are not known yet, know that the story is about lawyers. I am greatly looking forward to it. Hope to be able to do better and have a bigger breakthrough". She expressed that she has experience playing lawyers: "I played a trainee lawyer in my first series, 'Raising the Bar'. In 'The Queen of Castle', [I] played a lawyer who specializes in medical malpractice lawsuits. I feel that I have quite a bit of fate with this subject matter and this profession. Ha ha!" She also expressed that she had a lot of scens with Kelly in "Heroes in White", but it was the opposite with Alice: "Every time [I] film the same series with Alice, we don't have many scenes together. It would be good if there are more scenes to have fun together this time! Because I super like Alice. Would get heart eyes when [I] see her! She is really incredibly good to us. A very good person and very fun. Very serious when working".

Meanwhile, Samantha's new series, "Information", will have its filming delayed. In an interview, she admitted to knowing this. Recently, she has been promoting the movie "Cold War 1994", in which she took part in. She said, "It has been delayed, But I have other work in progress right now, and also need some time to prepare for the role".

The Most Important Thing Is Being Happy for Gallen Lo to Return to His Mother Company

Gallen admitted in an interview [today], "This series is in talks...hope that it'll be successful! It's also been a long time since I've worked with Chung Shu Kai. Collaborated with him before in 'Old Time Buddy'". When asked about the requirements for [his] comeback, he laughingly said that, apart from needing a good script, the most important thing is filming happily: "Seeing friends again. Very thankful to [Chung Shu] Kai for looking for me. He's an extremely good producer...has great character".

The variety programme 《夫妻肺片》 held its blessing ceremony today, with Raymond Cho, Edwin Siu, Jinny Ng, and Stephanie Che serving as 'five-star survival coaches' dismantling the everyday bombs in married couples' relationships with a group of celebrity friends. Edwin, Raymond, and first episode guests Kenneth Ma and Shaun Tam were interviewed. All four husbands revealed many of Kenneth's secrets on the programme. Edwin also frankly admitted that their income is managed by their wives: "These three husbands are fully committed, handing over all of their salaries. Kenneth's share is big enough for his mom to use!" Even Kenneth laughingly said, "Don't need personal money. Don't need to apply for permission to buy things. When Priscilla learned that her son had unlocked another achievement while she was away from home, she was jealous.
