Filming Delay of "The Queen of Castle" Leads to a Schedule Conflict, Maggie Cheung Has No Choice but to Reject the Series to Keep Her Word

ontv Clip

Maggie Cheung suddenly pulled out of the new series "The Queen of Castle", [so] the series crew got Jessica Hsuan to take over in a hurry.

An Agreement to Collaborate Again if Fated To

It is known that, because "Queen" is a co-production with a Mainland platform, all units are also attaching great importance to it. In order to ensure the quality of the shoot and that the process is smooth, the series crew will also not start filming until 80 percent of the script has been out. However, because [they] could not keep up with the progress of the scripts, the filming of many scenes needed to be postponed. The shoot was initially expected to commence at the end of April, but it was postponed until officially starting [today]. In the end, even the female lead had to be changed. In addition, the series crew originally planned to shoot a large-scale wedding in Europe, initially choosing the romantic city of Prague. The scene requires the accommodation of a grand manor and castle. However, the filming date has collided with the summer holiday, and the reservations are full. The filming date has been changed again, being forced to postpone filming until September. By then, Maggie has other work arrangements and is unable to turn it down due to contractual issues, so [she] had no choice but to pull out of this series.

on.cc had an exclusive interview with Maggie [today]. She frankly said, "Mainly a problem with the schedule because I already agreed to other work arrangements in August and September. Because there are many filming locations this time, the series crew's preparation time and the date for the start of filming could not be accommodated. I also could not go back on my word for my work afterward. In the end, [my] manager had no choice but to decline the invitation to perform. If there were no commitments and work obligations, we would not have made this decision. I also had no choice but to disappoint everyone". Speaking of netizens also greatly looking forward to her filming series, she laughingly said, "It doesn't matter! Sometimes collaborations are also up to fate. I greatly understand that everyone wants to do well on the matter; it's the right thing. They also have to go to Foshan and Europe to film. Being so rushed does make things very difficult. It's very unfortunate since we also made an effort to accommodate. However, it doesn't matter; there's always a chance to collaborate".

Ruco Chan Cherishes Acting with Jessica Hsuan

Ruco Chan, the male lead of "Queen", said in an interview that he had worked with Jessica many years ago, but there were no scenes with each other. He said, "Jessica is an actress I really wanted to work with when I joined the industry, but back then, when I had more scenes, she had already left TVB. We also previously met and greeted each other on the street. Will cherish the entire process of being able to work with her again this time. See that her condition is also extremely good. This combination of me and her is very fresh, so greatly looking forward to it". Kenneth Ma expressed, "Actually, I am also guest-starring this time. Have not officially started working, but Jessica and I just finished filming 'Prism Breaker'. In the series, she, Moses Chan, and I are former classmates. Also had quite a bit of scenes together. We collaborated quite happily".

TV queen Maggie Cheung will be returning to TVB in May to film the grand production "The Queen of the Great Tower", which is said to be the medical version of "The QUEEN of News". Like "QUEEN", this series' executive producer is also Chung Shu Kai.

It is known that TVB has always been looking for her to return to film a series. She has also looked at several scripts and has finally chosen "Queen" as the work marking her return. This time, the male lead is TV king Ruco Chan. Another TV king, Kenneth Ma, Edwin Siu, and Kenny Chung, who is filming a series for TVB for the first time, will guest-star. Other main actors include Alice Chan, Moon Lau, Jinny Ng, Cheung Wing Hong, Angel Chiang, et al. Some of the main scenes in the series will also be filmed in Europe.

Doing Homework by Crazily Watching Movies

In an exclusive interview with on.cc, Maggie frankly said that returning to the company this time has a lot to do with Chung Shu Kai's sincerity. Regarding taking on the challenge of playing a cardiac surgeon for the first time, she has also been doing her homework and has also watched many medical-themed movies from different places. She said, "Of course, this series is collaborating with a Mainland platform. The resources and the story creation are all very captivating, and I will also be fighting for my original voice for the Cantonese version and the Mandarin version this time. Mainland fans also always ask me when I would be dubbing myself...want to hear my voice. I have already fought for this with TVB.

Everyone knows that Maggie's requirements have always been quite high. She frankly admitted, "I have always had high requirements. Also constantly have demands in terms of the dialogue's accuracy and exquisiteness. Kai Jai also knows that I have high requirements. Because we are too familiar with each other, there are many things that I would also dare to directly bring up to him, exchanging and discussing with one another. He is also great...accepts my suggestions well". Asked if there are many surgical scenes to deal with, she said, "I also thought about finding a cardiologist before to understand what some of the surgical procedures are like, or finding a specialist and helper to help, but it seems that there won't be too many surgical scenes this time".

The male lead Ruco is playing the person in charge of a multinational bank in the series; his scenes mainly revolve around Maggie and Moon. When interviewed, Ruco frankly said that he still does not know what the role is like: "I worked with Maggie before when filming 'Forensic Heroes III" in the past. Actually, I still don't know what role I'll be playing; however, if there's an opportunity to be a doctor, it would also be not bad. Have also always been shooting action scenes previously, which is more strenuous and prone to injuries, but being a doctor is also not simple. May require a lot of skills and memory. Also need to know more about medicine". Alice is playing the chairperson of a multinational investment group in the series. She said, "Very happy to be able to take part in this large-scale series. I have never worked with Maggie, so extremely looking forward to it. This time, the character also has an investment in the medical group...is extremely rich in the series, so it is also a rather important character".

The other actors in the series also revolve around this family of doctors, all of whom are medical elites. Kenny is the top leader of the entire medical group. In the series, his sons, Kenneth and Edwin, are both professional doctors. Their wives, Jinny and Moon, are respectively a child psychologist socialite and a lawyer specializing in medical malpractice lawsuits. When interviewed, Kenneth said, "I have not received an offical notification. I am not a starring role this time. (Would be looking forward to collaborating with Maggie?) Also looking forward to it! Looking forward to all those [I] have never worked with. Hope that we have new sparks!" Speaking of Jinny playing his wife in the series, he said, "I have also never worked with Jinny. If it's true, it will definitely be fresh to the viewers".

Artistes Maggie Cheung and Elena Kong both appeared in Hung Hom to support Mimi Lo's musical. When it was discussed that Maggie has been constantly posting mountain walking pictures recently, Elena immediately interrogated her: "Who helped you take those mountain jogging pictures?" Maggie explained that the photographer was a colleague who was also mountain walking, and all of them are younger than she is. In the end, Elena successfully made Maggie reveal that she accepts an older female-younger male relationship. When asked whether there was a potential partner of the mountain walking friends, Maggie said, "I don't like handsome guys. (Accept an older female-younger male relationship?) Also okay. As long as we are rather spiritually close and are compatible". Maggie admitted that there was love brewing: "Wait for him to mountain walk with me first. I can wait!"

Personal Note: Ha ha.... Funny how Elena was taking selfies in the middle of answering a question! :P

Maggie Cheung Reciprocates; Steven Ma's Tailor-Made New Series

CREDIT IF REPOSTED

steven_maggie

The night before, Steven Ma and Maggie Cheung did a recording for the programme "Apprentice Chef". As the host, Steven laughingly said that he has used up all of his friendship cards, as he has invited all of his friends to attend. Apart from Maggie, there will also be Sharon Chan, Liu Xuan, Linda Chung, JoJo Cho, Charmaine Sheh, etc. afterward. Charmaine will be the guest on the final episode. He said, "JoJo just had a baby; she said that she would be my guest after she gets fit, but I have seen that she has kept well. As for Charmaine, haven't collaborated for a long time...invited her to be my guest on the final episode before she returns to Mainland for work".

Afterward, Steven will appear on the programme "Harbingers of Doom", hosted by Maggie...will reciprocate to repay her. Steven revealed that there are six episodes left to record. In August, [he] will film a new modern series, which is a warm, lighthearted comedy. He said that the character is tailor-made for him. The producer also asked for his opinions beforehand; however, at the moment, [he] doesn't know whom he will collaborating with.

Personal Note: He he.... Steven doesn't know who he will be working with.... :P

Mui Siu Ching said that Linda and Steven will be a different couple this time around.

Steven said that his character's occupation and personality are very special.

"Book of Words" Finale

Fala Chen/Kenneth Ma, Maggie Cheung/Dexter Yeung, and Paul Tse/Shek Sau were the finalists who competed for the title of 'Correct Word King' (although Shek Sau's original partner was Elliot Yue).

Enjoyed Ma Ming and Fala's chemistry here, especially when he said, "Fala said that she would give me a kiss if we win".

When Ma Ming and Fala were asked to perform the action "blindly follow others such that when one walks slowly, the other walks slowly, and when one walks quickly, the other walks quickly" (亦步亦趨), Ma Ming said that Fala frequently plays characters who are blindly followed by others, while he frequently portrays characters who blindly follow others.

Funny seeing Paul and Shek Sau perform the action "making eyes at each other" (互送秋波)!

Also funny when Ma Ming said that he's representing "Oxford", as he is a graduate of 「牛頭角官立津貼小學」, which has the shortened name 「牛津」!

Paul and Shek Sau were declared the second runners-up.

After Steven asked the contestants if they understood the meaning of "absence of mind" (心不在焉), Ma Ming immediately responded, "I am competing right now, but my heart is with Fala". Such a witty response! However, Steven then said that Ma Ming is all talk and no action!

Quite funny seeing Fala struggle with her line "fail through lack of a final effort" (功虧一簣) from "Can't Buy Me Love"....

After Ma Ming correctly answered, "No power shall suppress my pride" (威武不能屈), Steven said that he has known Ma Ming for a long time, but never realized he was so smart.

Like how there was a question regarding the Three Kingdoms.... Since Ma Ming has been filming "Back to the Three Kingdoms", he was able to correctly come up with Zhang Fei as the character in 《三國演義》 who has a spear-like weapon with a snake-shaped tip (丈八蛇矛).

Very interesting how the composition of the surnames 潘 (有水有田方有米) and 何 (添人添口便添丁) can be broken down into perceivable parts!

Can't believe Fala was unable to correctly answer "wife's elder brother" (內兄)....

Funny how there was an uproar of laughter after Ma Ming gave the answer "toilet" (茅廁)....

Surprised that Ma Ming was able to recite the lines from Li Bai's 《將進酒》 so fluently!

After Maggie and Dexter were declared the runners-up, and Fala and Ma Ming were declared the winners, like how Maggie said that she was just sitting there the entire time, watching Ma Ming answer!

When Ma Ming asked for help in writing the Chinese character 鬱, funny of Maggie to say that she wrote the character as big as a mahjong tile! Also like how Maggie said "Chotto Matte"!

In the end, Ma Ming won the most cash with $57,000. Fala won $30,000, while Maggie won $3,000.

Personal Note: Ma Ming looks very cute, especially when he said, "Fala said that she would give me a kiss if we win". Also, funny how Steven teased Ma Ming for 'looking honest and good, but actually a sweet-talker'. :) Anyway, can't wait to see the final! :D

Joe Yau: "Wow, Maggie Cheung's forensic pathologist image is very cool. Today, Maggie is having a costume fitting for 'Forensic Heroes III'. She said that it is a lucky coincidence to take on this character and that it is fate".

Maggie Cheung: "Everything is a lucky coincidence, such as timing and everything. I have also worked with Mui Siu Ching in the past. She mentioned the role of a forensic pathologist, and I am very interested, as I have not played such a professional role in a long time and have always wanted to play one. Everything worked out, so now I have this look".

Joe Yau: "In order to take on this series, Maggie turned down many stage performances, ribbon cutting events, etc. She also made another sacrifice".

Maggie Cheung: "Sacrificed my hair. Not really".

Joe Yau: "Could not let go at that moment?"

Maggie Cheung: "Have let it grow for a while, and have always wanted to change my image, but had not come up with any ideas. Coincidentally, Mui Siu Ching told me that she wanted me to have a refreshing image that would complement the professional role of a forensic pathologist, and it must look cool. Therefore, the hairstylist came up with this hairstyle. Is it okay?"

Joe Yau: "Of course!"

Maggie Cheung: "Siu Ching Jeh said it's very good!"

Joe Yau: "It's very good, right, Siu Ching Jeh?"

Joe Yau: "Will be working with Wayne Lai to compete in acting. Maggie said that she is highly anticipating it".

Maggie Cheung: "Actually, I think that he is good at refined scenes. I remember his sitcom with Teresa Mo. He was a plastic surgeon. I thought he was quite captivating. This time, he's playing a member of the forensic team, so he may have an even more 'chok' image".

Joe Yau: "Will there be any difficulty filming romantic scenes with such a 'chok' TV King?"

Maggie Cheung: "Romantic scenes? I really don't know. Don't know yet, but I think our romantic storyline will be more mature. It shouldn't be very...."

Joe Yau: "Puppy love type".

Maggie Cheung: "Yes, not that type".

Personal Note: Maggie looks very pro! Really like her short hair. Her last series with short hair was "Ups and Downs in the Sea of Love". Maggie slightly resembles Tavia with this short hair. ;)

Don't agree with Maggie saying that short hair is more fitting for professional roles, as Flora had long hair as a forensic pathologist in the "Untraceable Evidence" franchise, and she still looked very professional. :)

Funny how Maggie said that Wayne is 'chok'. :P

TVB 'Flower' Dans I

CREDIT hyn5@幸而城 IF REPOSTED

0rose0ada
Ada Choi - Amongst the "Dong Ka Fa Dans", Ada is known for her ancient beauty. Her role as Yan Fuk in "Where the Legend Begins" truly captivates the goddess look. No one is more qualified to represent a rose than Ada.

0dahlia0jessica
Jessica Hsuan - The dahlia denotes good taste and good taste is what defines Jessica. She possesses natural beauty no matter if it is style or beauty. Her straightforward attitude and natural beauty is most loved by viewers. This flower has "style and chic" written all over her.

0daffodil0maggie
Maggie Cheung - The daffodil represents Maggie's strong will and bravery. After being diagnosed with thyroiditis in 2005, she is slowly making her way back to the industry. Maggie's abilities in acting were never once doubted and her strive for perfection is a great distinction.

0orchid0kenix
Kenix Kwok - Kenix's refined air is represented by the delicate beauty of the orchid flower. The magnificent work that Kenix brings to her acting is fabulous to watch. Her facial expressions (crying skills) pull the audience to experience what her character is going through, especially in dramatic series.

0chrysanthemum0flora01
Flora Chan - Just like Flora, modern chrysanthemums are more fragrant than people think or believe. Her modern roles are full of personality and professionalism. Flora’s modesty and down-to-earth attitude is what makes her “in-house” and the fusion of her oriental and Western style signifies grace; in which it gives off an extremely comforting feeling.

Dong Ka Fa Dan Hot Coffee

當家花旦熱咖啡
Kenix Kwok - Espresso
kenixkwokEspresso
A properly brewed espresso has three major parts: the heart, the body, and the most distinguishing factor, the presence of crema, which is the foam of the surface. In Kenix's heart, she is a career-oriented woman who is always focused on acting. Kenix (body) filmed for TVB all these years even though she is not a managed artiste. Her marriage is the crema: she is the only one of these five actresses to have found happiness inside the entertainment industry.

Flora Chan - Cappuccino
florachancappuccino
A cup of cappuccino is made with espresso coffee, hot milk, and milk foam. A typical cup of cappuccino is served in a six-ounce cup. Milk is such an important ingredient in a cup of cappuccino. Flora's 人緣 and 觀眾緣 are great representatives of milk. When Flora first started acting, she was very much 'in house' and accepted by the audience from around the world. Her modesty and ability to play professional roles have stabilized her position as a fa dan in audiences' hearts. Plus, Flora is shorter and smaller than the other fa dans.

Jessica Hsuan - Latte
jessicahsuanLatte
Latte is prepared with one-third espresso and two-thirds milk. It has more milk than a cappucino and has a milder and milkier taste. Just like Flora, Jessica is very loved by the audience. The difference between the two of them is that Jessica's acting is more natural and smooth.

Ada Choi - Mocha
adachoimocha3
A mocha is just like a latte. It contains one-third espresso and two-thirds milk, but a shot of chocolate is added. Ada has always captured audiences' hearts no matter if it is her personality or her acting. The only difference that separates mocha from cappuccino and latte is the chocolate. In this case, it would have to Ada's ability to play evil roles.

Maggie Cheung Ho Yee - Flat White
maggiecheungcFlat_white1
A flat white is also very much like a latte. It is made from one-third espresso and two-thirds milk; however, it only has a very thin layer of foam at the top. Maggie is an extremely straightforward person, and she carries a serious attitude toward work. Maggie has a disadvantage due to her personality. At times she may be too blunt, but she is just being honest.

Note: I don't know where to classify Charmaine Sheh and Gigi Lai.
