Kenneth Ma has reunited with his good friend, Samantha Ko, in the series "Mrs. Revenge"; this onscreen couple has collaborated from "Go! Go! Go! Operation C9" and "The Airport Diary" to "The QUEEN of News". This time, in the series, Kenneth has transformed into a warm guy who watches over Samantha from afar. He expressed, "This time, the role is rather simple. Is a warm guy...is an exclusive angel to Samantha in the series. Perhaps her character is too pitiable, so the screenwriters arrranged for someone to go guard her". Asked if being a warm guy would be very difficult, Kenneth laughingly said that the character in the series is too perfect...may be very difficult to appear in real life: "Usually, if a good man is also good to every female in the series, he is a typical male lead. However, it's different this time. He is only good to Samantha; that's the character's most appealing part. He is the most faithful guy!"
In real life, Kenneth is known as a male artiste with zero negative comments. Asked about his most warm guy actions in his daily life, he laughingly said, "The most basic is having to take care of [my] family--the family with my mother and the family with my wife. A man has to support two households...it is a very natural thing. The most important thing is having a sense of responsibility; however, many males at TVB also have a sense of responsibility, such as Moses Chan, Ruco Chan, Shaun Tam, et al. Even Cheung Wing Hong, who plays the antagonist in the series, is a man who loves his wife".
Kenneth Ma Unlocks the Achievement of Zero Negative Comments
Talking of his frequent collaborations with Samantha, Kenneth laughingly said, "Samantha is the only female I do not need to report to my wife about when filming. She and Samantha are too familiar with one another. With other partners, would also mention it. It is only when collaborating with Samantha that my wife would say, 'No need to tell me. Just go ahead and film it!' Thus, I also do not worry about filming with Samantha on whatever acting project. She is the only female who has my wife's seal of approval". Kenneth laughingly said that, when he became familiar with [Roxanne] Tong, already knew that she and Samantha were extremely good friends: "They are good besties. Before my wife and I started [dating], the two of them had already discussed it and had asked each other's opinion". Kenneth Ma Refuses to Hold Solo Shows, Fears He Might 'Faint'
Kenneth has recently embarked on a singing career, holding shows everywhere with his good brothers, Edwin Siu and Raymond Cho. Singing from cities in Mainland to North America, the shows have been non-stop. However, as Edwin and Raymond are joining series productions soon, have to coordinate their schedules in order to be able to continue their singing journey: "Very happy to sing with them. There's no pressure when the three of us are on stage. If I had to sing over 20 songs alone on stage, would probably faint! There's actually no pressure with them. Asking Kenneth if there were a chance he might perform solo, he immediately declined: "Would probably not for concerts! However, I am also preparing a fan meeting in Mainland. Was originally scheduled for Chengdu but got postponed due to venue issues!" After preparing in various locations, Kenneth is grateful to have built a fan base in Mainland, laughingly saying that the power of TVB series still exists: "Series have garnered a large audience. Kenneth Ma Says That He Does Not Have a Singing Background
Kenneth laughingly said that he does not have a singing background; thus, the audience does not hold him to a high standard: "Before the first performance, Edwin was also a bit scared when he heard me sing, so he introduced a vocal coach to me". He also laughingly said that he has already improved and is able to feel the impact of concerts, as well as the earning power of this 'side gig'. Because of this, he also plans to continue with it. The three even released the collaborative song 《三生有幸》 to commemorate this friendship: "The lyrics are very meaningful, conveying that encountering every person who cherishes you in life is also a blessing and worth being grateful for". He also frankly said that many clips of his performances have been circulating on Xiaohongshu, attracting numerous job offers for him; thus, this time away from [filming] series is still rewarding.
Kenneth Ma Cherishes His Family Even More After the Pain of Losing His Father
Apart from singing, Kenneth is also devoting his time to his family: "My father passed away late last year, so also want to spend more time with my mother. My wife has a lot of ideas for daily activities, and I would help her carry them out, such as being the driver, etc. Ha ha!" There are more opportunities of being in each other's company, and there are frequent rumours that a good matter is near. Kenneth laughingly said, "It's a very normal thing...just like how it was speculated a few times when we were not married yet. Thanks to everyone for his or her concern. He admitted that he and his wife have a lot of topics on children: "My wife says that, if we have kids, I would definitely be an indulgent father, and she would be forced to be the 'bad cop'.
