TVB 2002 Calendar
TVB's 'Number One Siu Sang' and 'Number One Fa Dan'. "A Step into the Past" was 2001's second highest-rated series with an average of 33 points. Louis also won 'Favourite Male Lead' at TVB's 34th Anniversary for the second time.
In 2001, "Healing Hands II" was third overall with an average of 33 points and a high of 40 points. Paul Ching was still a memorable character. Also, Lawrence's "The Heaven Sword & the Dragon Sabre 2000" was eighth overall in ratings with an average of 31 points.
In 2001, Yoyo made the top five in the Ming Pao Awards for her role as Siu Lai Wa in "The Green Hope" (seriously, that was Yoyo's best role). Gallen was still TVB's 'Number One Brother', and he was filming "Golden Faith".
Again, big year for Ada because all three of her series made it into the top ten: "Healing Hands" (third), "Armed Reaction III" (fourth, averaging 33 points at peaking at 39 points), and "On the Track or Off" (fifth, averaging 32 points and peaking at 41 points). Ah He was filming "Burning Flame II".
In "Healing Hands II", Maggie received positive feedback for her role as Anson Man On Sang. Frankie made it on the calendar again because of the ratings of "Colourful Life" (sixth, averaging 32 points and peaking at 42 points).
Maggie and Gordon were always paired up together in the calendar.
Roger and Charmaine were filming "A Herbalist's Affair".
Raymond and Michelle were the first pair of newbies to make it in the calendar. Apart from being cast in the big production series "Golden Faith", the pair also filmed their first leading drama, "Eternal Happiness".
Steven and Sonija were about to film "Where the Legend Begins" with Ada.
Flora and Bowie are a classic pair from "Untraceable Evidence" and "Healing Hands". Flora also had "A Taste of Love" with Lawrence, which was ranked seventh overall in ratings, averaging 32 points and peaking at 43 points.
Bobby and Kenix were filming TVB's 35th Anniversary series, "Take My Word for It" along with Julian Cheung Chi Lam and Annie Man.
Many audiences enjoyed watching Anne and Kwong Wa's love story in "Seven Sisters". How can they not like them; they were paired up in four series together ("Lady Yang", "Seven Sisters", "The Stamp of Love", and "Riches or Stitches".

I didn't notice that Raymond and Michelle were the first newcomers to make it onto the calendar. I liked this year's calendar. It looked like TVB put more effort into pairing up the actors and actresses back then. I prefer the pairing theme over the group them.
ReplyDeleteTo Tracy:
ReplyDeleteYes, Raymond and Michelle were the first of the youngens to be on the calendar, as they were the first youngens to have leading roles. They have already filmed "Eternal Happiness", and it was to be released in 2002. :)
