TVB 2000 Calendar
After winning 'Favourite Male Lead' in 1999, Louis successfully became TVB's most heavily promoted siu sang. His series, "A Man's Best Friend" and "Detective Investigation Files IV", made it into 1999's top ten highest-rated series, placing 6th and 7th, with both averaging 30 points. Also, in 1999, Anne filmed her first leading role in "Lady Yang", and it was to be aired in 2000.
1999 was a great year for Bowie and Kenix. Bowie had "Untraceable Evidence II", while Kenix had "At the Threshold of an Era".
Felix and Jade were still filming "Kung Fu Master from Guangdong".
In 1999, Bobby and Mariane's "Happy Ever After" had an average of 31 points (a high of 40 points), and was ranked the third highest-rated series of that year.
"A Loving Spirit" was second overall in ratings, averaging 31 points and peaking at 39 points.
In 1999, Ekin returned to film "Face to Face" with Fennie.
In 1999, Sunny and Charmaine had two series together with a total of 90 episodes; thus, they filmed together from the beginning of 1998 to the end of 1998. DIF4 ranked 7th overall, while "The Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain" ranked 9th with an average of 30 points and a high of 41 points. This is also the same year that TVB started to promote Charmaine.
Ada and Roger were both in "At the Threshold of an Era". Ada's low production series, "A Matter of Business," still managed to take the tenth position of highest rated series of 1999, averaging 30 points and peaking at 36 points. Roger also had "Happy Ever After".
Flora was famous, while Gallen was the 'Number One Brother'. What else can I say? Well, maybe ATE....
Frankie and Christine were filming "Incurable Traits".
"Plain Love II" had a ratings peak of 40 points. Also, they were TVB's siu sang and fa dan.
1999 was also a good year for Jessica because she received the same rewards as Louis. Nick was also enjoying 1999 because he was filming "The Legendary Four Aces" with Bobby, Gordon, Marco Ngai, and Esther.

Seeing all these old calendars with the "oldies" makes me very nostalgic. It's sad how TVB keeps declining year for year, when they used to push out great shows each year. There was a reason for why TVB managed to out-battle ATV - but it keeps getting smaller and smaller.
