Summary:
Steven Ma's contract with TVB as a managed artiste is coming to an end soon. Catherine Tsang wants to renew Steven's contract, but Virginia Lok says Steven 'cannot be in house' (i.e., is not welcoming), so she does not want to extend his contract. Because of the feud between Tsang and Lok, Stephen Chan had to resolve the issue. Stephen said, "Steven is a ratings guarantee because all of his series have high ratings, so that is an indication that he
is welcoming".
Personal Note: In my opinion, Steven is one of Miss Lok's least favourite artistes. I don't remember him appearing at her birthday parties, and she rarely mentions him. The only time she mentioned him in the press was during a promotional event for "The Brink of Law" in which she criticized him about only wearing suits and needing an image change. It seems as though Miss Lok is trying to 'get rid of' Steven to 'promote' another person (possibly Kevin Cheng because TVB is trying to put him in ancient series now).
Catherine Tsang would support Steven no matter what because he is like a godson to her.
Virginia Lok's List (in no particular order):
Most Favoured: Kevin Cheng, Bosco Wong, Ron Ng, Moses Chan, Charmaine Sheh, Sonija Kwok, Myolie Wu, Linda Chung, Kate Tsui, Vivien Yeo, Christine Kuo, etc.
(She also favours pageant winners.)
Least Favoured: Wong He, Steven Ma, Tavia Yeung, Fala Chen, Raymond Lam, etc.
If you have seen or read Miss Lok's interviews, it is obvious that she does not like those artiste listed in the 'Least Favoured' category. She pretends to like Raymond, Tavia, and Fala because they have gained acceptance/recognition in recent years. (For example, she only expresses her support for Michael Tse after the success of Laughing Gor, and Nancy Wu for her success in "Strictly Come Dancing II".) On a number of occasions, she had criticized Raymond for his weight. She only praised Tavia after the success of "Moonlight Resonance". Miss Lok did not want Fala to play Laughing So; instead, she supported Christine Kuo, who has never acted before.
