Charmaine Sheh Returns to Mother Company TVB and Wants to Cameo on News Channel, Selena Lee and Kenneth Ma Benefit from Both Sides to Reduce Stress

Charmaine Sheh, Kenneth Ma, Selena Lee, Venus Wong, Regina Ho, et al. went to Shaw Studios to film the new series "The QUEEN of News" today. Charmaine has returned to her mother company, TVB, to film a series. She expressed that she has been filming happily because the script is great, and has not collaborated with the actors and the behind the scenes for a long time. Because the old friends are very harmonious in private, has been working happily. Having not filmed a TVB series for a long time, has anything changed? Charmaine described it as being just as happy, but would only know if there is any difference after seeing the finished project; however, the filming process and script have made her very confident in the new series: "Everyone is working very hard on the filming. Believe that the finished product will make people satisfied. (There's a difference from being used to filming big productions?) This one is also a big production!"
Charmaine said that the time to rest is more sufficient this time. The producer cares for the actors and is fighting for time to rest for everyone: "[If] we aren't pretty, then the producer suffers a loss! New actors are afraid of you because of your aura?) At the beginning, it's just that everyone was not familiar with one another. You ask them now again to see". She said that it is tough for those before the screen and behind the scenes, so she treated everyone to eat. Speaking of her performance, Charmaine admitted that it's difficult: "Because it has to be said smoothly, but the dialogue is also difficult, so I have chosen to write it down to help me remember it; thus, the set is full of my calligraphy!" Asking Selena if she would continue to film TVB series, she laughingly said, "[If] there's a good script and good partners, would certainly film. Kenneth and Charmaine are both good partners. Selena described herself as a 'sharp-tongued Barbie' who yells as everyone in the series: "No one dares to yell at Charmaine. In the series, I am not a good girl...not gentle and would quarrel with others due to [my] stance". Selena described it as having never played this type of role...have to learn to say the key points, and even had to memorize some dialogue for a month, frankly saying that, after playing it, she really admires journalists. Kenneth also expressed that he would also use anchors as objects of imitation.
Regina expressed that her performance this time is a big challenge because the character is full of ambitions and even has a mood disorder, but she would not get emotionally troubled, laughingly saying that, when under pressure, [she] would consume sugar to reduce stress. Regina has a lot of feelings about playing an anchor. Apart from controlling [her] line of sight, also needs arm-leg coordination, frankly saying that it's difficult. She has a romantic storyline with Kenneth; she described it as her most intense performance: "The previous performances were also just superficial contact. This time, there is action and passion". Selena Lee Returning to TVB to Have an Acting Battle with Charmaine Sheh

Charmaine Sheh, Samantha Ko, Regina Ho, and Kenneth Ma were already confirmed earlier to film the new TVB series "The QUEEN of News" produced by Chung Shu Kai in March. Korean dramas and US dramas often use news anchors as its theme, but TVB has never filmed this series genre. The shooting period of this series is expected to be about half a year. This time, Chung Shu Kai is personally shooting it, and has invited Charmaine to return to her mother company to film the series. The production of this series is quite strict. Apart from being a customized series in collaboration with Mainland, the shoot will also follow the Mainland format. The script, [script] reading, styling, etc. are meticulous, and the series crew will be looking for a movie team to assist in the cinematography, art, and lighting.
Producer Chung Shu Kai revealed the character setup in an interview the other day. Apart from Selena Lee joining the series, TV king Shaun Tam even has a romantic storyline with Charmaine and is a key figure in [her] life. It is known that some important roles are still looking for suitable actors, and the news cases in the series will be looking for many actors to act them out. Chung Shu Kai pointed out that the series is full of 'mean girls'. The story takes place in a news corporation. Everyone becomes a villain for a power struggle. The main story begins with lead Charmaine having to leave her anchor position.
Change in Immune System Index
The female characters in the series are anchors from different news reporting times. Charmaine is the top female anchor during prime time, and the male anchor partnering her is Kenneth. The noon anchor is Selena, while Samantha and Regina are the morning and evening anchors respectively. With Charmaine's departure, everyone hopes to strive for the 'Prime Time Female Anchor' position. The anchors each have their own ulterior motives and resort to workplace means to fight for power!
Each character setup has its own attractiveness. Samantha is Kenneth's disciple. She has a cheerful personality, is clever, and is a lovable bombshell. Her styling is pretty and captivating. Kenneth wants to nurture her to become Charmaine's successor. As for Selena playing Kenneth's ex-girlfriend, she has an upright and tough personality and is full of enthusiam for work. She is originally quite upright, but only later are her true colours revealed. Selena has not filmed for TVB since she finished filming "Barrack O'Karma 1968". Last year, due to issues with her immune system, she halted work for a while to recuperate. She revealed in an interview, "Last September, [I] was working as a producer for 'Tape', and there was a change in the immune system index. That month, the pressure and workload were too much, and the index increased. It was so scary. I got very nervous immediately. I will try my best to adjust my workload now. Have to be more relaxed! However, I feel relieved that Director Kai is personally shooting it. Will not be staying up all night, and it will not be too tough. Everyone has enough time to rest, and I have been observing my situation now".
Selena frankly said that, apart from the character and the script being captivating, the producer is also a main reason for accepting this series: "Actually, Director Kai already approached me last February. Have always been discussing schedules. I have not worked with him before, but really admire him. He even wrote the story and is shooting it this time. As for going against Charmaine after many years, she pointed out that the two previously collaborated in 'When Easterly Showers Fall on the Sunny West', 'Can't Buy Me Love', 'Beyond the Realm of Conscience', and other series: "Haven't encountered each other for many years, so really want to film again, and I really like the theme this time. There are many foreign series that talk about news anchors. I am also a fan and really like to watch them. Hope that everything goes smoothly". She also revealed that she went to Singapore to do a stage performance the other day, performing three shows with singer Jeff Chang. She said with a smile, "Can finally do stage performances...very happy". She is currently out of town on vacation with her husband, embarking on a spiritual cleansing journey.

Selena Lee Encounters Strange Things When Singing Self-Composed Interlude for "Barrack O'Karma 1968": Had to Pass Three Levels Before Recording It

The TVB series "Barrack O'Karma 1968" will be premiering on April 4th. Apart from starring, female lead Selena Lee also become a composer for the first time and released her first work, 《相愛萬年》.
She expressed in an interview, "The song 《相愛萬年》 was written with my younger female cousin. She was thinking of the love story in the first installment of 'Barrack O'Karma' while creating it, while I was thinking of 'Barrack 1968'; thus, for me, 《相愛萬年》 is not just a love song, and it also represents my scenes, emotions, and desires in 'Barrack 1968', which are my personal feelings when I put myself into character.
For this song to be able become one of the interludes of 'Barrack 1968', it can be said that it was fate, and it can be said that there were many obstacles. When this song was composed at first, never thought that it could be used in the series. Was really affected by 'Barrack 1968'. Was emotionally touched too much during the shoot. Suddenly had the urge to write a song. I also really like the classic theme song 《今宵多珍重》, so I never thought about being able to put my own song in the series.
After finishing writing the song, heard that the producer was actually looking for a song to act as the series' interlude, so I hummed a few words at random for him to listen to. Little did [I] know that he would think that it was suitable, and it naturally became one of the songs in the series. However, if it's related to 'Barrack', many strange things would usually occur, and this song was no exception.
From the first recording, couldn't record because I suddenly lost my voice. When it came to the second recording, couldn't record because the floor above the recording studio was renovating. For the third recording, our record producer, Davy, suddenly got admitted into the hospital. Also get the chills hearing about it. Luckily, there were no problems when it came to the fourth time. Saying it like a joke, it felt as though 'Barrack' was trying to test our sincerity. Has to pass three levels, but thankful that everyone had a lot of heart and was persistent in doing a good job on this song".

Selena Lee Sings and Composes Song for "Barrack O'Karma 1968"

The new TVB series "Barrack O'Karma 1968", starring Joel Chan and Selena Lee, will be broadcasting on April 4th. Returning to film the sequel this time, Selena also has a new breakthrough; it turns out that she sang the series' interlude, 《相愛萬年》. She even personally took part in creating the song. She announced the news of the song release on her social media: "Singing and composing for the first time. My own song for the first time. Looking forward to it". Her partner, Joel, immediately left a message of support: "Looking forward to it. Looking forward to it".
Selena accepted on.cc's interview today. She said that the new song was created by her and her younger female cousin: "It was composed for 'Barrack'; however, at the time, didn't think that it would be used. It just so happened that the producer said that he was looking for a song for the series. He listened to my song by chance and thought that it was suitable, so he used it. Very happy. Was arranged by the heavens. I was in charge of composing; Riley Lam wrote the lyrics. Had to hand the lyrics over to a master level; he was able to write out the picture that I had wanted. The song will be officially released next Monday".
She frankly said that she had written songs when she debuted, but no one ever made inquiries, and there were no singing opportunities until the previous year when she sang with Gabriel Harrison: "At that time, collaborated once with a record company. They wanted to collaborate again and asked me to write a song. When I wrote it, didn't know that it could be used in the series. Very happy that the boss of the record company is so supportive and trusting of me, as I am not a singer. He was the one who gave me the courage to sing and compose the song".

Receives Recognition in New York! Selena Lee Becomes a Finalist in 'Best Performance by an Actress'

Artiste Selena Lee became a finalist in 'Best Performance by an Actress' for her role in "Barrack O'Karma" at the "2021 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards", and 'TV King' Wayne Lai won bronze in 'Best Performance by an Actor' for "Death by Zero", both receiving recognition overseas. When Selena accepted an interview with on.cc, she frankly said that she was very happy, even expressing her thanks to the entire team's efforts that she had this performing opportunity. Selena Lee Does Not Think That Vincent Wong Will Win 'TV King', Would Be Pushing Another One from a Commercial Perspective

When interviewed by a reporter from hk01, Selena expressed being extremely surprised: "Aiya...very happy! Because, actually, I was nominated for 'Comedy Actor/Actress' before and have not been nominated since then, so really very happy". In [2014], Selena was nominated for 'Best Comedy Performance by an Actor/Actress' for the Singaporean series "Spouse for House", but in the end, she lost to Irene Ang, who played her mother-in-law in the same series. Selena Lee Performing a New Character in "Barrack O'Karma 2" to Challenge Her Acting

Selena Lee appeared in Kowloon City today to attend Wai Yin Association's reusable masks donation event. She even danced in the promotional clip, showing off her flexible muscles and bones: "Wanted to hand out environmentally friendly masks this time because creating garbage every day is not a solution. These masks have disinfectant ingredients on the inside. I had to dance in the promotional clip to show that there were no problems with the spine. Able to help people and protect the environment".
Selena, who is currently busy filming the TVB series "Barrack O'Karma 2", has to rush back to the series crew after the event. Regarding the plot of "Barrack 2", she said that she could not disclose even more due to contractual issues but was confident that it would surprise the viewers: "Signed a contract...cannot disclose it. I can't disclose it even if I wanted to. Can only say that, this time, it is even more extreme than last time's story...gave [me] goosebumps upon reading it, so there will be surprises. Selena Lee and Gabriel Harrison Win a "J.S.G." Song Award

[Today], HANA, JW, James Ng, Selena Lee, Gabriel Harrison, Hubert Wu, Fred Cheng, et al. did a recording for "J.S.G. Selections 2020 (Part 1)". Selena and Gabriel were happy to win an award for their duet song, 《二次緣》. Gabriel said that the last time he won a "J.S.G." award was already twenty years ago when he won a 'Newcomer Award'. Gabriel feels that singing has no age or boundaries and hopes to make good music. Breaking into the Music Industry! Selena Lee Gets Pointers from Pal Sinn and Paisley Hu

Artiste Selena Lee is breaking into the music industry for the first time, singing a new duet song, 《二次緣》, with Gabriel Harrison, and even going to a radio station to promote it. She expressed that it was the release date of the song MV; however, because of the outbreak, many people do not dare to go sing karaoke. She suggested that she and Gabriel use a mobile app to sing with the audience online. Speaking of becoming a newcomer in the music industry, she said, "Have filmed series for so many years, but have not had the chance to sing. Had a song as soon as [my] contract was finished. Thanks to Gabriel for giving me the opportunity". In order to record this song, [she] hired three singing teachers and learned singing from two singers: "Even got pointers from Pal [Sinn] and Paisley [Hu]". Gabriel laughingly said that TVB lost a treasure, highly praising Selena for singing very well.
As for Selena, she expressed that she will be heading off to Canada tomorrow to film a web series. Because [she] took part in the filming of "Forensic Heroes IV", which is currently airing, producer Mui Siu Ching wants her to return to Hong Kong to watch the finale, so [she] will do [her] best to adjust [her] schedule. Speaking of whether [she] was worried about flying, she said, "Will prepare disinfectant products to clean the seat and wear a face mask. Will also bring my own bottled water. The flight will take 15 hours. Don't have to eat airline meals, but cannot not go to the toilet. Will already be there after watching two movies and sleeping!"

Selena Lee Returns to the Twilight Mansion, Gabriel Harrison Destroys Joel Chan and Snatches 'Coco'

Artiste Selena Lee worked quietly at TVB for 17 years, and she finally won her first big award, 'Most Popular TV Female Character', at TVB for the role 'Coco' in "Barrack O'Karma". Her popularity has risen, and she even played the piano and sang, showing off her singing talent, at "Tung Wah Charity Show 2019". Selena's singer dream is going even further because, before her 39th birthday on February 12th, her first song, 《二次緣》, with Gabriel Harrison will be released. [She] revisited the Champagne Court, where "Barrack" was filmed, to shoot an MV with a bitter romance.
Selena shot her own MV for the first time. She paid meticulous attention to the recording, the shoot, and even every dialogue. She said, "Shooting a series is really different from an MV. It is a big breakthrough for me. Luckily, when recording, Gabriel gave me a lot of encouragement and advice, which relieved a lot of the pressure. Also learned a lot in terms of recording techniques". Although Gabriel did not participate in "Barrack", he became immersed when they were at the 'Twilight Mansion', as he suddenly said, "I have to destroy 'Ah Siu' (Joel Chan's character in 'Barrack')". The most surprising thing was that, when Gabriel's wife learned that her husband would be filming a series and dueting with Selena, there was no jealousy, and she even said, "Hope that my husband forgets about me and falls in love with Selena". She then explained, "My husband has to be invested in the character in order to have even better works".
Gabriel collaborated with Selena twice within a short period of time. He said, "Greatly thankful to her for her acting advice. Had been away from the TV circle for a while. In terms of acting, there are a lot of places that [I] could do better". Talking about the big argument scene in the MV, he praised Selena as being a good quarrelling partner: "She made it easier for me get immersed in the scene".
Gabriel's record label executive, Tommy, expressed in an interview, "Actually, before 'Barrack' aired, Selena and Gabriel filmed 'Forensic Heroes IV'. When visiting the set, the record label boss met Selena and perspicaciously felt that she was the best choice to duet with Gabriel. The two sides clicked immediately". When asked whether Selena would be officially signed as a singer, he said that he would not rule out any further collaborations with Selena.

Momentary Blackout During Rehearsal with Selena Lee, Bob Cheung: Very Bizarre Like "Barrack O'Karma"

Selena Lee and Bob Cheung did a recording for the fundraising show "Tung Wah Charity Show 2019". This project is the two's first music collaboration. Selena is playing the piano, while Bob is playing the guitar in a duet of 《今宵多珍重》. Bob recalled that, when filming "Barrack O'Karma", there was a piano in the studio. Saw Selena play the piano: "She is a hidden master. Singing has a classic flavour". Selena said that she feels nervous about performing, and told Bob to not put pressure [on her]: "I am not a musician. Previously played the piano and danced at the anniversary gala, but playing while singing is not my strength. It is also [my] first public performance. I just returned to Hong Kong from a trip. Just rehearsed with Bob last night. Doing [my] best for charity". Bob revealed that, during the rehearsal with Selena in the recording studio, there was a momentary blackout situation, which was similar to the plot of "Barrack"...extremely bizarre.
Selena went on a Maldivian trip with her 'Nonsense Club' besties earlier, and even shared swimsuit pictures on her social media. She laughingly said that there was no competition on their figures...merely showing the characteristics of each person, revealing that Myolie Wu, who had given birth, shot some bikini pictures: "Everyone, wait to look at the pictures. We had been keeping fit for the trip, so [we] went crazy and took a lot of pretty pictures, and hired professional photographers to help take pictures for us. The sexiest was Nancy Wu. Very happy this time. It is rare to match up [our schedules] for a trip. Worked on [our] schedules for a year, but Mandy could not go at the last minute. Hope to plan the next journey. Want to commemorate it while everyone is still young and in shape".

Selena laughingly said that there were no romantic encounters on her journey; however, there was a scare: "When I was washing in the private bathroom, a muscular guy almost went into my villa by mistake. I immediately closed the curtain. When he found out that he had mistaken, he left".
