"The Rippling Blossom" Theme Song MV

"Actually How Deep Is the Ocean" - Julian Cheung

Repeat *

總會碰著暴風加雨水
但我堅強 永不倒下去
天要塌下 就將這被窩 蓋住心碎
總有未完 夢想可以追
讓我單純 投入在生活裏
歡笑眼淚 未改寫信心 愛下去

Personal Note: The lyrics basically repeated in the second half of the song, with the exception of one character.

"The Rippling Blossom" Behind the Scenes in Japan: Tavia Yeung Gets Pranked

The cast and crew of "The Rippling Blossom" celebrated Myolie Wu's birthday in Japan. After she had cut the cake, the situation became chaotic. Specifically, Julian Cheung and Tavia Yeung went crazy.

Personal Note: Ha ha.... Funny how Myolie and Tavia signalled each other, and went after Michael and Chi Lam. While Chi Lam was resisting Tavia, Myolie got cake on his eyebrows. :D

In reality, Chi Lam and Tavia are the crazy ones, while Michael and Myolie are more reserved (even Myolie said that they were naughty). He he.... :D

"The Flying Fish of Winter" Last Day Filming

TVB8 Clip

cute_chi_lam
(Chi Lam is super cute! :D)

Julian Cheung's hardest part of filming "The Flying Fish of Winter" is being a Japanese sushi chef.

Chi Lam: "There is a lot of preparation work! This scene that we are filming today is the ending scene, and it is the last competition scene. Our script for today's scene is very thick, and it will take three days to finish filming this competition scene. We filmed yesterday, and after today, we will continue to film this scene tomorrow. I think it is very exciting, as we have to make so much sushi, and I had never thought that I would be able to do it, so I think it is very refreshing and good to watch. Professional sushi chefs are always by our sides teaching us how to make the sushi, so I have learned some skills from them. But, of course, there is still a far distance compared to their professional skills".

Chi Lam and Michael Tse are competitors in the series.

Michael: "This is the first time working with Chi Lam in a TV series. In the series, we are brothers, and we are both Japanese sushi chefs. We will have a lot of competition scenes in the series, and we have a lot of brotherhood scenes also revolving around business, so the script is very rich".

In this scene, Tavia Yeung is not a Japanese sushi chef, but she is here to support her boyfriend.

Tavia: "This is my second time working with Michael and Chi Lam. They will play brothers in here, and I will have a romantic storyline with Michael. I have to take revenge on Michael, as I think that he was the one who ran over and killed my father. But, in the end, I find out that it wasn't him. But, he will take revenge on me, and I will take revenge on him. It's a very complicated revenge!"

Tavia's unexpected gain from filming the series?

Tavia: "[Unexpected gain is] filming scenes in Japan...beautiful scenes in Japan, and I went to many different places. Later, we came back to film scenes in Hong Kong. But, we are almost done filming, as we are done filming outdoor scenes, and there are only two days left of filming on set. Filming should wrap up on the 19th. Actually, Japan is a very nice place. I like it very much myself! And it was my first time going to Hokkaido; I've never been there before. It was snowing over there, so it was very romantic. If I can spend time over there with the person I like, then it should be very comfortable".

Visit Ngo Ka Nin's TVB blog for one more picture!

Personal Note: Yes, the info about her complicated life and loving the person who ran over her father is the storyline for this series!!! I'm guessing that 《魚躍在冬季》 is not the official name for this series yet. Why else would Tavia say that the series does not have a title for it during an interview when she revealed this info?

"The Flying Fish of Winter" @ 《Sudden Weekly》 Issue 751

CREDIT IF REPOSTED

Summary:

Earlier, the cast of "The Flying Fish in Winter" flew to Hokkaido to outdoor scenes for a month.

hanami01
Tavia Yeung and Michael Tse filmed a kiss scene at Otaru Hokkaido's train station.

Both of them may seem to be enjoying this, but at the time, their lips had hardened from the -5 degrees Celsius weather. In order to film in -5 weather, Tavia had prepared eight warm packs underneath her clothes. The director was very caring toward Tavia and Michael, as he had them rehearsing indoors for the scene. When it was time to film outdoors, Michael's entire body had hardened as if it was frozen. The kissing scene NG-ed four times before the director was satisfied with it.

Michael said, "I was so cold that I couldn't even say my dialogue, and I had to kiss Tavia, too. When I kissed her, Tavia pushed me away and asked, "Why are your lips so hard?" Not only were my lips hard, buy my entire body had turned into a popsicle. Luckily, the crew gave us ten cans of hot drinks after filming that scene to warm up. I never thought that wearing clothes would be colder than not wearing any clothes because there was a scene where Chi Lam and I filmed an outdoor hot springs scene, and it was way more comfortable than the kissing scene with Tavia at Otaru".

hanami04

hanami03
Tavia and Myolie Wu also filmed a hot springs scene, but they did not have to face the cold winds because they enjoyed the hot springs indoors. Tavia said, "Filming this scene is way more comfortable than kissing Michael!" Myolie revealed that, after filming this scene, Tavia had fallen in love with the hot springs. When they had free time, they would meet up to go enjoy the hot springs together. They also said that the hot springs have made their skin whiter and smoother.

hanami02
Tavia places a hot canned drink by her chest to keep warm. Michael points at it and says, "Wow! Why does your chest have an extra bump?"

hanami05
Chi Lam and Myolie film near Sapporo. They are shivering from the cold.

hanami06
Chi Lam and Myolie film in front of Hakadate.

hanami07
Chi Lam and Damian Lau film at Otaru harbour.

hanami08
Chi Lam, Myolie, and Damian film the process of buying tuna in Sapporo.

In "The Flying Fish in Winter", Michael and Chi Lam play step brothers (same father, different mother).

Personal Note: Is this series really only 20 episodes long?

"The Morning of the Flying Fish in Hanami" in Hokkaido

Too Happy Filming in Hokkaido to Be Homesick: Michael Tse and Tavia Yeung Kiss Romantically in Snow

hanami

Michael Tse, Julian Cheung (Chi Lam), and Tavia Yeung went to Hokkaido to film for "The Morning of the Flying Fish in Hanami". Apart from filming, they can enjoy the beautiful scenery, and indulge in sashimi and Japanese cuisine. After arriving in Hokkaido for a week, they ate non-stop, and it seemed as if they were filming a food and drink programme. However, Michael and Chi Lam will have a hot springs scene, and they will be required to reveal the top half of their body, so they cannot eat too much. Michael said, "It is not hard to hold back on eating, but the most laborious is the hot springs area. They only allow us to film there in the morning from 7 to 8. The weather is very cold, so my mouth is shivering when I say my lines". Michael and Tavia will play a couple, and Michael said that, in his career, Tavia is the female artiste he has had the most kiss scenes with. He said, "This time, I will have four kiss scenes with her. I have never kissed that many times before [in series]. It also snowed during the filming process, so it felt a bit romantic". Michael is also most happy to work with his idol. "Actually, this is my first time working with Damian Lau. He is my idol, and I have learned a lot from him. Generally speaking, I am very happy filming this series!"

Caption 1: Michael, Chi Lam, Tavia, and Myolie all in Hokkaido filming a new series.

Caption 2: Damian is his idol and Chi Lam is his friend. No wonder Michael is so happy filming this series.

Caption 3: Michael and Chi Lam will play sushi chefs. In order to film this hot springs scene, the two of them did not dare to eat the tasty food in front of them.

Caption 4: Michael and Tavia's relationship in the series is difficult and hard to resolve. This pairing is very refreshing.

Caption 5: Michael will have four kiss scenes with Tavia; luckily, they are both good actors, so they did not have NGs much.

Personal Note: Michael and Tavia have already worked with each other in "The Stars of Love". It's just that it has not aired yet. :)

Damian Lau and many other cast members on the costume fitting list were absent due to sickness or were busy filming other series. Eileen Yeow's name was not on the costume fitting list, but she was present.

For those who were complaining that Chi Lam looks old, he looks like the same Chi Lam from when he first entered the business. Very cute and young! He he....

Tavia's name is like Margaret Chung's in "Detective Investigation Files III", but Margaret was Lee Si Lung. He he.... Both series are written by Au Koon Ying. :)

Personal Note: The Chinese title is so Japanese! I am having a hard time translating the title. "The Morning of the Flying Fish", "The Morning Meeting of the Flying Fish in the Flowers".... The series must have a major sponsor for it.
