CREDIT IF REPOSTED

Artises Kenneth Ma, Moses Chan, Roger Kwok, Natalie Tong, Nancy Wu, and Kelly Cheung have been in Mainland doing location filming for TVB's grand production "Big White Duel II". After a month-plus of quarantining and filming, everyone has finally completed the final scene happily and parting reluctantly. Under the leadership of Producer Marco Law, they celebrated with champagne and a wrap-up meal. In an interview with on.cc, Kenneth frankly said that this time's location filming was the most impressive and unforgettable one since entering the industry. He said, "It's really unforgettable. For one, due to the pandemic, we had to quarantine as soon as we arrived. The feeling was very special. Plus, there are 40-plus people in our crew. The process was like an entire team sharing joys and sorrows together, like having experienced a lot of things. We also got tested a few times during the shoot". He also said that, during the shoot, he went to four places, including Shanghai and a mountainous area: "The schedule was also very tight. Very thankful to Producer Marco. He was always leading our group of people to overcome so many difficulties. The director and PAs were also great. If there were any problems, we solved them together. There were a lot of obstacles this time, but was also very happy until the last day of filming. We had a wrap-up meal; it was very lively. The entire team feeling was very strong. Hope that the pandemic will pass soon so that we don't have to go through such trials and tribulations in the future".

Speaking of the many operating room scenes in the series, Kenneth expressed that surgery scenes are even harder to shoot than action scenes: "Not easy to shoot at all. I dare to say that filming operating room scenes takes more time than filming action scenes. Every process and action cannot be incorrect...was filmed very meticulously, and there was a lot of coordination. Secondly, we had big scenes involving the legislative council and the WHO meetings. The auditorium in Shanghai would be impossible to find to rent for shooting in Hong Kong...it's really very pretty. Shot multiple angles of an entire group of people having meetings. It was full of people who had to give reactions. It was not easy at all...very grateful for the team's efforts".

As for Natalie, after departing, she was not accustomed to the new place, having constant diarrhea and a skin allergy. She said, "It was also very serious. It was like this for the first time for me. Entire face got red and bumpy. May not have been used to the weather starting to change. After quarantining, my friends also sent skin care products to help me. My skin kept on being sensitive for almost the entire filming period. Now that filming is done, there is no problem! It's like this every time! Really need the help of the producer to help me make it look good when doing post-production!"

Nancy also said that this time's trip was very rich...went to Shanghai and Qingyuan in between, and even said that Qingyuan was worth the trip. She said, "Although it was a six-hour drive to go to and fro to shoot a scene where a large group of people are having a meeting, it is really very difficult to find that round indoors setting". In the series, she plays an oncologist...a very tough character. She, who wore a doctor's coat for the first time, expressed having a great sense of duty. When it came to shooting surgery scenes, she said, "It was my first time shooting surgery scenes. Fortunately, there were professional doctors guiding on site. We also asked a lot of questions. Was really not easy having to do the actions professionally in those few seconds. (Did your hands shake?) Well, no, but Kenneth had it even harder; he had more surgery scenes than I did".

Moses celebrated his birthday there during the filming period. Apart from receiving a celebration from the series crew, he was happiest to have been able to take time out of his busy schedule to attend a commercial event there. In addition to making money, there was even a large group of fans celebrating with him on the spot. The organizer even specially made a family cake with a family portrait for him, which was quite thoughtful. When interviewed, he frankly said that this time's filming was very smooth, and is grateful for his wife Aimee Chan's help in single-handedly taking care of their children during this period; it was really not easy!

Shot "Big White Duel II" to the Point of Crying, Kelly Cheung Grateful to Roger Kwok for His Teachings

Kelly frankly said that she felt happy and reluctant to part. When she finished the final scene, she could not help but cry. In an interview with on.cc, she said, "Because it was the filming of the second installment this time, everyone's relationship is also very profound, especially Natalie and Roger. Roger really taught me a lot of things and watched me grow up. The entire team was also great. Everyone filmed for such a long time, but there were no complaints...worked hard to do a good job. This time's work trip was really very unforgettable".

In addition, she also said that many Mainland fans went to Shenzhen to visit the set, and even bought a lot of food and drinks: "Really very thankful to them. They even thanked the series crew for me by buying food for everyone. They are unable to come to Hong Kong, so they came to different places in Mainland to visit the set this time...really very thoughtful".
