The Paso Doble Warrior - Kenneth Ma

"Strictly Come Dancing" Guys Second Round

The second round of dancing for the guys in "Strictly Come Dancing" happened last night.

The TVB guys' scores for last night are as follows:

Eddie Kwan
Judges Average: 8
Audience Average: 8.14
Total: 16.14

Kenneth Ma
Judges Average: 8.5
Audience Average: 8.42
Total: 16.92

Kevin Cheng
Judges Average: 9
Audience Average: 8.64
Total: 17.64

Timmy Hung
Judges Average: 8.25
Audience Average: 8.24
Total: 16.49

Derek Kwok
Judges Average: 7.5
Audience Average: 8.3
Total: 15.8

After the second round, Kenneth is second highest for TVB guys, but third highest overall. He also had the highest number of audience votes (195).

Kenneth danced the Paso Doble, and his outfit was a crossover between Chinese opera and Spanish bull fighting. His eyes were furious and powerful. They looked as though they knew how to speak. Host Astrid Chan said that it is very difficult for tall people to dance, but she praised Kenneth for his performance, and said that he danced it very well. Teacher Chou and Teacher Yang praised him again for his efforts.

scd
Derek Kwok was eliminated with a score difference of 0.01 points.

Teacher Yang Yang was very biased because she gave that Hunan guy (he beat Derek by 0.01) a 9, and he dropped the girl in his Paso Doble. She praised Derek on his improvement, yet gave him a 7.

Part 5

Personal Note: Kenneth must have practiced a lot because he has lost so much weight. I just love his outfit. He said that all the TVB-ers laughingly said that he looked like a cockroach. I'm guessing that they must have said that he looked like 'Siu Keung' because his antennas looked like a cockroach. Very funny!

Team Underdog

This picture has "POWER" written all over it. "Go, underdogs!"

Kenneth Ma and Christine Ng seem to have developed great chemistry behind the scenes of "Strictly Come Dancing II", even though they've made a bet on which of the two of them would be eliminated in the first round. However, that will not be happening because Kenneth is safe, and all of the TVB girls are safe as well.

All of the TVB girls seem to be showing more support toward Kenneth because he is the type of person who lacks self-confidence. Kenneth has the potential to achieve more, but he needs encouragement from others.

Interesting Note: At the end of Kenneth's rumba routine, you can hear and see Christine yell out, "We love you!" That is so true because they do all love him.

Jessica Hsuan to Film "A Pillow Case of Mystery" with Bobby Au Yeung

At a fans gathering today, Jessica revealed that after filming "Just Love II", she will be filming "A Pillow Case of Mystery" (TVB production) with Bobby.

The filming for JLII will not start until May. Ever since the high ratings of "Pillow" in 2006, TVB did mention that they wanted to film a sequel. It seems as though TVB couldn't get Kenix, but rather asked Jessica to film "Pillow". I'm guessing that either Kenix is busy or she is unhappy that she never got her hands on the award for 'Best Actress'.

There is also the possibility that Jessica's relationship is so good with TVB that TVB decided to use her instead of Kenix. When any actress is offered the opportunity to work with Bobby, their first reaction will be, "I'll film it for sure, no question about it".

Hopefully, this is a TVB production because they need more series where they do case solving. Those are the best kind of series to watch.

Dark Horse Prince - Kenneth Ma Cartoon

This cartoon is from Baidu. He is very cute!

Interesting note from fans who visited Kenneth in Hunan:

At the blessing of "Strictly Come Dancing II", a group of Kenneth's fans were waiting for him outside of the studio. TVB crew members saw them holding his signs, but the crew members told the fans that Kenneth would not be coming to this blessing ceremony (possibly the blessing for the girls' night). The fans asked a crew member if they could ask Kenneth to come out. Thus, the crew member told another crew member to tell Kenneth that a lot of fans were waiting for him.

They waited for a while, but Kenneth didn't come out yet. Myolie Wu was the first artiste to come out, and when she saw all the Kenneth signs, she ran to them and said, "I want to take a group picture with Kenneth's fans!" She asked her assistant to take the picture. Myolie held one of Kenneth's signs and said, "Add oil, Kenneth!" Kenneth's fans responded by saying, "Add oil, Myolie!"

A while later, Christine Ng came out and said, "Wow, there are a lot of Kenneth fans!" Kenneth's fans talked to Christine for a while and later asked, "How come it's taking Kenneth so long to come out?" Christine responded, "I'll go call him".

When Kenneth came out, there were a bunch of reporters who saw his fans, and they even offered to help him take the group picture. The reporters then asked Kenneth to pose in a dancing stance. Although Kenneth did a rather stiff pose, he was very adorable.

Personal Note: Another funny pose by Kenneth...too bad there are no pics of this whole incident. However, it reminds of "The Master of Tai Chi" whole cast promotional event where they asked him to pose in a stance that would best represent tai chi. Funny Ma Ming chose the most simple stance and did the inhale position at the end.

PK in "Strictly Come Dancing II"

Whenever you hear the phrase 'PK', Cantonese-speaking people will automatically think of the curse word '仆街'.

However, the meaning I'm looking for is 'Player Killing'.

Before I define 'Player Killing', let's look at 'Player versus Player'.

*'Player versus Player' is competitive interaction within a game between two or more live participants. This term can be used to describe any game (dance competition) where players compete against each other.

*'Player Killing' is non-consensual 'Player versus Player', resulting in a character's death (elimination).

In "Strictly Come Dancing II", the competitor with the lowest total score of the night will have to come back and do the 'Player Killing' challenge, which is dance for their lives.

dance_derek
Kevin Cheng and Derek Kwok were in the bottom three; however, Derek had the lowest scores, and he will be dancing for his life.

All of the TVB girls are safe and will have to wait until April 25th to dance again.

The scores are calculated as follows:
Judges Average + Audience Average = Total Score

There is a total of 200 audience members. The number of viewers, for example, 193 means that 193/200 audience members voted for that contestant; however, those votes can range from 1-10.

The HK media didn't even do their homework; they kept saying that Kevin Cheng had the most votes. Yes, a lot of people voted for him, but they didn't necessarily give him high points. The live audience must have given him low scores because he was in the bottom three.

In this case, it would be better if not every audience member voted because they would really bring down the average.

Dark Horse Prince - Kenneth Ma

Kenneth Ma Dancing

After watching the clip over 3 times last night, my sisters and I couldn't help but scream for Ma Ming. No wonder all the girls (i.e., Myolie Wu, Nancy Wu, Christine Ng, Angela Tong, and Grace Wong) were showing their support for him by cheering him on and screaming his name. Netizens post these clips like an hour after it airs on TV.

In the beginning of the clip, Carol (Dodo) Cheng asked the girls to describe the next contestant, which was Kenneth, and it was so funny.

Christine Ng: He has dark skin.
Myolie Wu: His last name is 'Ma'.
Angela Tong & Grace Wong: Handsome guy!
Nancy Wu: He is our 'Dark Horse Prince'!
All the girls: Dark Horse Prince!

After his dance, the Hunan host even said that Kenneth has good relations with the female artistes because they were screaming his name and cheering him on. "Ma Kwok Ming!" "Ahhhhh!" "Woo!" "Ma Ming!" In the clip, you can see and hear Nancy Wu say, "One, two, Ma Ming!" Later, all the girls scream "Ma Ming!" He is so loved by all of them. Hehehe...

Nancy Wu Dancing

The next guys and girls' dance performances will not be on until April 24th and 25th. They will also be eliminating one guy and one girl. After the first round, the nine guys and nine girls will be paired up. I really want to see Ma Ming dance the Paso Doble with Nancy Wu. He should be man enough for the dance. Hehe...

"Strictly Come Dancing II"

dance01dance02dance03

The second season of the reality dance competition, hosted by TVB and Hunan TV, has kicked off tonight with the male competitors.

Just like last year, 10 artistes represent TVB and 10 artistes represent Hunan TV. TVB has sent Nancy Wu, Grace Wong, Myolie Wu, Angela Tong, Christine Ng, Derek Kwok, Timmy Hung, Kevin Cheng, Kenneth Ma, and Eddie Kwan to represent their TV station.

The competition officially kicked off tonight with the guys being the first ones dancing. The girls will dance tomorrow night.

The scores for the guys from the judges for the first night are as follows:

Eddie Kwan - 8.0 average
Kevin Cheng - 8.0 average
Timmy Hung - 8.5 average
Kenneth Ma - 8.5 average
Derek Kwok - 7.25 average

Even though Eddie and Kevin Cheng were tied on scores from the judges, Eddie seemed to be more well-liked by the audience.

Kenneth impressed the judges with his smile and courageous effort. He was also praised by Teacher Chou on his professionalism. Kenneth also has many supporters from the audience.

I hope Kenneth can make it to the doubles because I would like to see him and Nancy Wu dance the Paso Doble.
