Personal Note: Aww, Team Success is so cute! Nathan still says "胡定欣!" in a very high-pitched voice. He is so cute!!! The award for 'Most Improved Female' has to go to either Selena or Nancy because Tavia has to get 'Best Supporting Female'. It also seems as though TVB is acknowledging Nancy for her accomplishment in dancing. After "Strictly Come Dancing II, ,Nancy has performed at a lot of variety shows. On the other hand, Selena had a variety of different genre series this year. Also, her status in TVB is ranked higher than Nancy. They are both liked by viewers, so it is up to TVB to base it on whom they favour more. 真係好難揀呀! I'd be pulling my hair out if I had to pick one! Add oil, Nathan, Tavia, Nancy, and Selena!!!

TVB aired the Ninth Round on Saturday on the Lifestyle Channel.

Like I mentioned in my previous post ("Strictly Come Dancing II" Ninth Round), the TVB host was Astrid Chan and the guest judge was Nancy Sit.

In this week's episode, all the competitors spoke about the other competitors. This is what they had to say about Team MengMa:

Grace: Every time I have lunch with Ma Ming, he looks like this (points to poster)...very handsome....
Ham: Very cool.
Grace: Very cool.
Ham: But once he meets up with Meng Meng and messes up on the dance steps, he would be very scared.
Grace: (imitating Ma Ming) What should I do? What should I do?
Nathan: In this competiton, he (Kenneth) is the most hardworking one. He sweats so much, so much.
Chen Lu: He is like a hardworking ox.
Timmy: When Meng Meng is practicing in the room, she'll be like, "Neh (the sound of an ox), you have come. Neh".
Chen Lu: Meng Meng is like a horse that does not eat grass.
Timmy: Yes.
Chen Lu: Very cute.
Nathan: She (Meng Meng) is like a female peacock. When she competes, it seems as though she has fanned her hair.
(Nancy is laughing.)
(Someone in the background: Feathers!)
Nathan: Yeah, feathers. The peacock has fanned her hair feathers.
(Nancy laughs and pushes his left cheek with her hand.)
Kevin: Meng Meng...I can consider her. Ma Ming is also not bad. He is a super, good guy.
Myolie: It's not not bad, he is very good...
Kevin: Very good.
Myolie: He is an extinct good guy.
Niu Meng Meng: I think that, out of all the guys in this competition, Ma Ming is the cutest out of all of them. Because, every time you ask him, "What do you think of this dance?" He would say (imitates him), "It is very difficult". If you ask him, "How is the progress of learning the dance?" He would say (imitates him again), "I still don't know. What should I do?" All you need is practice and our chemistry will grow. Just get used to it.

Niu Meng Meng: It's a perfect match.
Kenneth: Do you think so?
Niu Meng Meng: You (audience) dare to say not?!
Kenneth: You (audience) dare to say not, right?
Niu Meng Meng: You (audience) should come and dance this routine.
Kenneth: Yes, come and PK me.

After Team MengMa had finished dancing:

Astrid: I can tell, Ma Ming, that you really enjoy dancing.
Niu Meng Meng: Yes, he danced very well.
Kenneth: I'm confused again.
Teacher He: Meng Meng, what else do you want to say?
Niu Meng Meng: He truly danced very well.
Teacher He: Last week, when they finished dancing, Meng Meng said to me offstage, because it was inconvenient for her to say onstage, "Did you see? What'd you think? Ma Ming danced extremely well!" At this time, you can only hear Ma Ming speak in a fake voice because when he finishes dancing, he only speaks in a fake voice. How are you right now?
Kenneth: Can't speak now (high-pitched voice).
Astrid: Difficult or not?
Kenneth: Very difficult. (You can see the judges laughing.)
Teacher He: He will become unable to speak in a normal voice.

Teacher He then asks Kenneth about his thoughts on facing elimination.
Teacher He: Are you confident about staying?
Kenneth: If it was only me, I would not be confident, but since I have her, I have confidence.
Niu Meng Meng: I...think that the outcome isn't important anymore. To be able to still dance on this stage, I have to thank him (holds Kenneth's hand). If there's no him, there's no me.
Kenneth: I also have to thank you. If there's no you, I would have left the competition already.

As for Nancy and Nathan, they danced a Argentine Tango routine and received their second perfect score from the judges. Nancy cried and said that she wanted to dance the tango this week, and asked Nathan if he was comfortable in doing the dance. The night before, Nathan told Nancy, "I'm sorry, I can't do it". Nancy said he was very scared because they only had three days to learn the dance. She also questioned whether she had chosen the wrong dance because she was putting pressure on Nathan. Nathan supported Nancy and said, "There was a lot of pressure on her shoulders because she had to dance a solo, which she practiced in Hong Kong, and she had to fly back to Hunan and learn the Argentine Tango with me. I understand why you are crying even though I can't hear it. (Nathan pretends to cry which made Nancy laugh.) I understand. Don't cry".

Personal Note: Hahaha.... Ma Ming was very good at dancing the jive. Who would have guessed that he would be able to do the jive? Not even Teacher Chou expected that. Teacher Yang couldn't help but say out loud, "Ma Kwok Ming, you really danced very well!"

In the VCR, Nathan was very funny because he didn't know how to say 'feathers' in Mandarin. Haha....

Eighth Round: Team MengMa - Tango/Paso Doble

TVB finally airs the eighth round of dancing, but it is not aired on the Lifestyle Channel, not Jade.

Like I mentioned in my previous post ("Strictly Come Dancing II" Eighth Round), the TVB host was Derek Lee and the guest judge was Lau Dan.

Nancy Wu and Nathan Lee did a contemporary/jazz routine on the seventh night. On the eighth night, they did "The Chorus Line", a Broadway routine. From this Broadway routine, Nancy and Nathan received their first perfect score of ten from the judges.

As for Team MengMa, they did a marvellous Tango/Paso Doble routine. The music for the dance was fantastic, and they received an enthusiastic response from the audience. Teacher He (Hunan host) even said to Ma Ming when they were done, "You did it!" Ma Ming was very excited because he was jumping up and down. He said he was scared to death because they weren't getting it during practice. Later, Teacher He told the audience to applaud for Ma Ming; the camera showed the artistes clapping and screaming. Even though the camera did not show Nancy, you can hear her scream very loud. It is the same scream from his first dance.

Teacher Chou: "The trust between the two of you has improved and is becoming stronger and stronger. Also, I feel really touched and want to laugh because how did you (Ma Ming) finish that routine?! You're not supposed to be able to finish that! How did you finish?! Congratulations!"

Lau Dan's comment was very funny because he was explaining how Ma Ming was looking down at his feet during rehearsal. He said that, in the tango, the male is supposed to look very confident and the head is supposed to be held back. He even asked for a close-up to show what he meant. At the end of the show, Teacher Yang said that Lau Dan was the most professional guest judge they had on the show.

I can't wait to watch the ninth round because Team Success scored another perfect ten on their Argentine Tango from the judges, while Team MengMa receive 9.75 on their cha cha/jive.

Personal Note: Aww, too bad Nancy and Nathan did not win because she was the hot favourite to win. She was the only girl to score a perfect score of ten from the judges. Fans said that she injured herself doing the jive with Nathan. The Hunan side does not give Grace enough credit. They only care about Yu Hao Ming because they are promoting him heavily. On the other hand, if this competition were hosted by TVB, they would do the same thing, too. I was quite shocked to find out that Chen Lu and Timmy placed second. Chen Lu was always flying out of Hunan and did not have much time to practice with Timmy. Their scores were never high when they danced together.

I am so happy that Ma Ming made it so far. He and Nancy are so cute in their VCRs. Haha....

"Strictly Come Dancing II" Ninth Round

Same as the last two rounds, fans were there for the recording and reported the following information.

The female artistes were selected to perform their solos.

The final four couples will be dancing at the finale next Friday.

Astrid Chan was TVB's host.

Nancy Sit was the guest judge.

The scores after the ninth round (the first judges' average is for the females' solo and the second is for the couples' routine):

After the females' solo, Niu Meng Meng and Myolie Wu were in the "bottom" two. Myolie Wu and Kevin Cheng were the first pair to be eliminated from the competition. Yang Ruo Xi and Zhang Jun Ning were the second pair to be eliminated from the competition.

Meng Meng and Kenneth danced Cha Cha and Jive.

At the airport, Myolie said that Kenneth would make it into the final four.

Grace and Ham (Yu Hao Ming) danced Paso Doble.

Nathan, Meng Meng, and Jun Ning were also at the blessing ceremony.

Nancy and Nathan received a perfect score from the judges for their Argentine Tango.

Personal Note: Yay! Ma Ming made it; he is in the final four! Your fans are very proud of you! Haha...

Nancy Wu and Nathan Lee have to win because she has been the favourite since the beginning of the competition. They are the most technical pair and, so far, they are the only couple with the perfect score of 10 from the judges. I have confidence in them that they will win. Just like what Nancy and Nathan say to each other all the time, "I trust you!"

"Strictly Come Dancing II" Ninth Round News

The recording of the ninth round will be on Friday the 6th.

The remaining six couples will send out one person to dance a solo to represent the couple. After that, they will also dance a routine with their partner.

Nancy Wu confirmed that she will be doing a Chinese dance routine by herself and will also dance a tango routine with Nathan Lee. Will they be doing the doughnut?

My guess is that there will be 3 guys and 3 girls doing their solos.

MengMa Team - Niu Meng Meng
I'm guessing Niu Meng Meng will be doing the solo because Ma Ming says that she is a better dancer and that she is smarter than he is. It would make sense if she dances because she does have a dance background.

TinLu Team - Chen Lu
Chen Lu will definitely be representing TinLu because she is an Olympic medallist and will get more votes from the audience.

Little Star - Yu Hao Ming
Yu Hao Ming is the most '人氣' (popular), so he will be doing the solo. However, if he does do the solo, he will just do hip-hop because that is the only dance he knows how to dance. Grace Wong can do other dances even though she is most familiar with hip-hop.

Blooming - Kevin Cheng
It is most likely that Kevin Cheng will be doing the solo instead of Myolie. He gives me the impression that he actually dances more than Myolie. Myolie's limbs are too long, so it looks very awkward when she has her arms out for cha cha or when she is kicking in jive.

Being of One Mind - Zhang Jun Ning
In this pair, they can send either Zhang or Yang Ruo Xi because neither of them stand out. Yang started off as a dancer, but she is always injured and complains constantly. Her audience points are rather low compared to the other girls. As for Zhang, he is actually being promoted by Hunan TV (as is Yu Hao Ming), so if they want people to be more familiar with him, he will be dancing the solo.

Nancy: (She sits down beside Nathan.) You really like me?

(Nancy pretends to slap Nathan.)

TVB.com Man: Do you know what you are saying (addressing to Nathan)?

Nathan: Ah.... (Everybody: I know, I know!! He copies them.) I know! I know!

TVB.com Man: I believe you need to explain what is going on here.

Nancy: (speaks loudly) You are useless, a complete mess!

Nathan: I know, I know.

TVB.com Man: I think you don't know. (Nancy: Yes!) Nancy, how about you use English and explain it to him?

Nancy: Ah.... Say what?

TVB.com Man: Don't lie. During this period when he was taking advantage of you, did you feel his love affection towards you?

Nancy: You can't really say that because taking advantage (TVB.com Man: You really enjoy it?) and liking are two different matters.

TVB.com Man: That's true. 咸濕還咸濕, 中意還中意.
Nancy: Yes.... Right? (asking everybody in the background)

Nathan: Yes. (Nancy laughs loudly.)

Nathan: (quickly retracts his previous answer) No, no!!!

Nathan: No!

TVB.com Man: I'm going to leave you two alone. Look (points to his watch), I've got another mission, as you guys can see (his watch is flashing). I have to go and interview the next person. I'm leaving you two.

Nancy: Bye bye.

(TVB.com Man leaves.)

Nancy: Do you know what the question was?
(Nathan shakes his head.)
Nancy: He asked you: do you like me?
Nathan: Yes!
(Nancy turns her head.)

(TVB.com Man returns.)
