Selena Li Opens a Restaurant: Treats Kenneth Ma to Dinner

Artiste Selena Li treated her "Ghost Dragon of Cold Mountain" partners to dinner in Sheung Wan. Good friend Kenneth Ma was also in attendance. When Selena was asked how much the bill was, she frankly said that it was five figures: "Ate some Australian Wagyu beef and meat. Actually wanted to treat for a while. Very rare for a series to have such good feedback". When Kenneth was asked whether he would follow Selena in treating colleagues to dinner, he crisply answered, "Doesn't matter!" [He] emphasized that this is team spirit.

Reportedly, Selena is one of the shareholders of this restaurant. She later admitted, "Just a small shareholder! (Other investments?) Also in restaurants. The other restaurant is eating Mexican food...also buying off plan". When asked whether there was a large profit, she was not willing to reveal the actual figure: "Made a little bit, so have money to treat everyone to dinner. Before, didn't film series for half a year, so need to have some income".

Being a Full Marks Filial Son

As for whether Kenneth had some investments, he said that he does not do business, but has looked at flats: "Also in the district that I live in. Dad and Mom also live around there". Definitely a full marks filial son. Regarding the technique of the series being new school, Kenneth said that it is not considered new school: "It is a technique that is more lighthearted!"

Kenneth Ma, Selena Li, Lin Xia Wei, Candy Chang, etc. attended a promotional event for "Ghost Dragon of Cold Mountain".

Kenneth said that "Ghost" is a funny ancient series that is suitable for adults and children, and hopes that it is able to bring up the ratings. He praised Selena, who portrays two roles, for acting well, and thinks that she is able to win this year's 'Most Improved' award. After completing the filming for "The Misadventure of Zoo", Kenneth will film the grand production "Lord of Shanghai", portraying the younger version of Anthony Wong. Although he does not have any scenes with Anthony, he plans to go to the set to watch him act.

Regarding Kenneth's thoughts on her being able to win the 'Most Improved' award, Selena asked in surprise: "'Most Improved'? Still 'Most Improved'? He really said that? Perhaps I have not returned to the company in a while...he thinks that I am new in the industry! I also hope that he is able to rely on this series to become TV king".

Candy revealed that she will film the movie "From Vegas to Macau II" next month. She will be filming action scenes in swimwear, and will even have a shoot-out with Chow Yun Fat.

Kenneth appeared in a doctor look at a 'No-Tobacco Day' event with Candy Chang.

Kenneth went to a market to hand out fans...was surrounded by a large crowd.

Kenneth Ma and Candy Chang appeared in a doctor look for a 'World No-Tobacco Day' promotional event. They speculated that, because of the effect of the series "The Hippocratic Crush", which aired earlier, they were asked to use their medical perspective to encourage everyone to not smoke. They both do not have a smoking habit...would be best if their future other half also does not smoke. Kenneth expressed, "Do not smoke myself, but would not ask friends to also not smoke. Certainly would be best that girlfriend is also not a smoker because my entire family also does not smoke".

Candy also hopes that her further boyfriend does not smoke. When asked whether she would prohibit her partner from smoking before filming kiss scenes, she expressed that she would probably ask her partner to first eat a mint, but have not given out her first onscreen kiss scene yet. Kenneth, who was on the side, surprisingly said, "You never filmed any yet?" Reporters laughed at him, who said himself that he has a long tongue, and asked whether he was eyeing covetously. He immediately said, "Do not dare to. I am afraid of being yelled at by her fans". On the other hand, Kenneth does not eat heavily scented foods before filming kiss scenes.

Kenneth revealed that "Hippocratic" is expected to film its sequel next year. "Triumph in the Skies II" will begin filming in June or July; other confirmed actors should include Francis Ng and Julian Cheung. As for "Hippocratic", apart from the original cast, there will also be the addition of Lawrence Ng playing Ching Chi Mei...should already be a senior doctor. He greatly anticipates working with Lawrence.

Personal Note: Lawrence is really going to reprise his role as Paul Ching in a Tommy production?!

Last night's episode of the series "The Hippocratic Crush", starring Kenneth Ma, talked about his doctor character not being able to save his younger brother, 'Yat Hong' Nathan Ngai, blaming himself, breaking down, and bursting out crying. The tear-provoking storyline touched netizens, supporting him for being able to compete for TV king, becoming hotter property.

Kenneth, who is regarded as the industry's 'Hot Property', has received the support of netizens to compete for 'TV King', seemingly becoming even more 'hot'. When he accepted a phone interview yesterday, he said, "Thanks for the audience support, but do not dare taking the credit. It's the editors who wrote it very well...everyone's chemistry. As for awards, taking things as they come. It's only March now; there are many grand series coming up. Already very happy with people feeling that I have the qualifications to compete for TV king". When asked whether there are hopes to film a sequel, he said, "Tommy (TVB Executive Tommy Leung) jokingly said that, with such good feedback, must film a sequel. Kenneth Ma: More Important to Make Money Than Date

Kenneth Ma attended an opening ceremony for a fashion shop, gaining the support of many fans. He expressed that the most recent two episodes of the series "The Hippocratic Crush" averaged 33 points...hope that the ratings increase again. Afterward, will have dinner and watch the ending with the cast and crew; he and Tavia will pay the bill: "Recently, many viewers scolded that the endings for series were not good. I believe that it won't be this series. The ending is quite good; it is an open ending. (Foreshadowing a sequel?) Hope so". "36 Hours on Call" Blessing Ceremony

Yesterday, the new series "36 Hours on Call" held a blessing ceremony. Tavia Yeung, Kenneth Ma, Him Law, Mandy Wong, Candy Chang, and Ben Wong, who play doctors in the series, as well as a group of newcomers were in attendance. Tavia expressed that she and Kenneth are an arguing couple in the series; she will also fall for him, but he unfortunately does not like her. As for Him, he will have an admiration for her. Working with Him for the first time, Tavia feels that he is a cheerful and sunny boy. When asked whether she would be worried about having rumours, Tavia laughingly said that she treats Him as a younger brother, as she likes guys who are mature, steady, and have a sense of security.

The series has used a large group of newcomers. When asked whether she would get really angry from frequent NGs when working with newcomers, she said, "Would not, but would say 'hurry up'". She pointed out that newcomers would definitely NG. She also continually NG-ed when she was a newcomer...sometimes do not have enough sleep, and would also NG over ten times. However, having filmed for two or three days, have gotten off work on time. Him, who has been frequently filming series for TVB, has even more opportunities than TVB's biological sons [i.e., TVB-managed artistes]. When asked whether he would become a biological son, he laughingly said, "At most, be a godson. I still have a contract with Filmko...cannot say the term".

Personal Note: Ma Ming and Tavia definitely looked more refreshed at the blessing. Ma Ming had a few days off to do a stage performance in Toronto; however, instead of sleeping on the plane, he used the time to read the scripts for the first five episodes of this series. Ma Ming also said that he ate well, and it does show on his face. :P

Ma Ming and Tavia are always so funny...they are becoming more and more matching in appearance. :D

Wouldn't be surprised if Him did ask the producer to add some romantic scenes between him and Mandy.... :P

Very nice of Marcus, who worked as an emergency doctor in Australia before entering TVB, to stay on the set even when he is not in the scene. :)
