TVB's 40th Anniversary is about a month and a half away, and people are already raving about who is going to 'Best Actor' and 'Best Actress'. TVB will be having a light switching ceremony on October 6th, 2007, and on the same day, they will reveal the nominations for all the award categories. The awards presentation will take place on the night of November 17th, 2007.
Will anybody from this year's 3 highest rated series, "Fathers and Sons", "Family Link", or "Heart of Greed", come out on top? Like every year, the results will most likely be rigged by TVB. However, that does not stop the predictions from happening!
Distinguished Performance Award
My Guess: Liza Wang
Even though I would like producer Lee Tim Sing to get this award since he will be retiring this year, TVB might give it to Liza Wang. This is Liza's 40th year in the entertainment business and not once has she left TVB. With this in mind, she might just get this award
Best Actor
My Guess: Moses Chan
Many people have lost faith in this award ever since Kevin Cheng won the award last year. The best leading males this year are, without a doubt, Damian Lau and Bobby Au Yeung, but TVB will not let a chance to earn big bucks go to waste. Thus, this year's winner will continue to be a TVB-managed artiste. This is Moses' time to shine! His performance as 得得地 has already won the audience over. Although some may find his acting in the series to be a bit exaggerating, it is understandable since his character is responsible for relieving the stress and misery in the family. Plus, TVB will be airing "The Ultimate Crime Fighter" as one of the anniversary series next week to help Moses out. If Moses wins, he will be getting a pay raise. Therefore, TVB will get a bigger cut from his "outside job" earnings.
My Favourite Male TV Character
My Guess: Bobby Au Yeung or Raymond Lam
Bobby deserves to win 'Best Actor', but since he is not 'TVB's son' (managed by TVB), his chances of winning this award is higher. Bobby has proved that he is more than comedy with his performance as Chai Foon Cheung in "Dicey Business". With "Fathers and Sons" being the highest-rated series of the year, he is the "King of Ratings". TVB better give Bobby some recognition since there is a chance that he will be representing TVB at the International Emmys in the States on November 19th, 2007 (they will announce the final top four this month).
If TVB also decides to give this award to one of its 'sons', then it can be Ching Leung or it can be Wah Chun Bong. Either way, it is going to be him--Raymond Lam! However, Raymond is still young. Let more deserving actors have the award. TVB will eventually let him have a taste of the big awards.
