"Lo and Behold"'s 'Kam Sing On' Leads HKIU Students in Recreation of MJ's Dance Steps, Overnight Rehearsals for a Week for Halloween Easter Egg

The sitcom "Lo and Behold" brings surprises to viewers from time to time. Last night's Halloween episode, the main story was a Halloween party on the campus of Hong Kong Island University (HKIU). 'Kam Sing On' (played by Chow Ka Lok), 'Chu Ling Ling' (played by Ricco Ng), 'Hung Sam Yu' (played by Andrea So), 'George' (played by Aaryn Cheung), 'Bonnie' (played by Iris Lam), 'John' (played by Sky Chiu), 'Dandruff' (played by Keefe Ng), 'Bookworm' (played by Oman Lam), 'Face Oil' (played by Tom Lo), 'Candy' (played by Sophie Yip), and 'Jessie' (played by Helen Seng) dressed up and designed a 'haunted house'. At first, the HKIU students disappeared one by one. It was thought to be a supernatural incident. Unexpectedly, everyone met the fugitive 'Sung Tin Kei' (played by Jack Hui) in the 'haunted house' again, and there was a gunshot. Fortunately, the students were alert enough to successfully subdue the gunman.

After the episode aired, the rolling credits naturally appeared. Unexpectedly, the good show was at the end. 'Kam Sing On' led the HKIU students in a reinterpretation of the MV of Michael Jackson's song, "Thriller". At a glance, whether it was the expressions or the dance steps, they were synchronized with the original MV. It is known that the actors specially rehearsed for this short 1'10" 'ending scene' before the shoot. Many nights after finishing work, they rehearsed in the dance studio in the early morning...extremely professional and immersed. Last night, on Halloween, they specially watched the live broadcast with the producer to celebrate their passionate performance together.

Chow Ka Lok accepted a phone interview with Sky Post, expressing, "Actually, this was Producer Lam Kin Cheung's decision to add it in. This time, it was 'Bookworm' Oman who helped us choreograph the dance. He was the one who stayed the latest every night because everyone in the HKIU did his or her best to diligently learn. Was so united that I was so touched! (Who had the hardest time dancing?) No one. Everyone unexpectedly had some dancing talent. Plus, there was hard work accommodated with Oman's clear instructions, so the result also reflected that everyone also did well!" He said that the look relied on the attentive help of colleagues in hair and makeup in order to make the entire thing come into fruition. His makeup took about an hour. "Lo and Behold": 'Kam Sing On' Becomes a Dance King; 'Bookworm' Started Off as a Dancer and Was Aaron Kwok's Backup Dancer

"Lo and Behold" has hidden talents. Last night's episode, "Dance King's Second Shadow", fully revealed an actor's potential. The story tells of 'Kam Sing On' (played by Chow Ka Lok), who is usually useless, accidentally becoming the 'Dance King of Hong Kong Island University' due to avoiding a cockroach. Later, his classmate, 'Bookworm' (played by Oman Lam), is discovered by 'On Jai' to have been secretly teaching him. It turns out that 'Bookworm' was once 'Dan God', but made a fool of himself during a performance when he exposed himself after splitting his pants when he was not wearing underwear, which left a shadow, and he stopped dancing. Later, 'On Jai' tries his best to put him on the stage again, achieving a collaborative dance in the end, which was amazing.

Oman actually started off as a dancer. He began doing street dance when he was 15 years old, specializing in hip hop, breakdancing, and social dancing. He used to perform as a backup dancer at concerts for Aaron Kwok, Eason Chan, Coco Lee, et al. Although Ka Lok was mainly using humour while being embodied by a cockroach, his dance moves were also rhythmical, and he seems to have a certain degree of dancing skills. Ka Lok expressed in a phone interview from Sky Post, "I took part in dance academies before. When studying in Australia, also had two years of elective dance courses. As for the rest, it was mostly self-taught online because I like the street dance styles of popping and locking. Think that robotic dancing is cool, so also practiced it. Muscles and bones are rather loose and flexible. I am not very good. Just good at imitating...not really good at dancing".

Ka Lok is grateful to the director, Emily, for notifying them two weeks before filming started; thus, he and Oman looked for the music and rehearsed the dance, practicing for approximately four to five days. When asked about having to split his legs for the 'falling seven' action many times in the series, Ka Lok said, "Really did this action many times on the day of filming. It was slightly painful, but there was no problem. It was okay!"

As for Oman, he frankly said that he was grateful to the producer, Lam Kin Cheung, the scriptwriter, the director, and Ka Lok. Although he came up with the dance steps this time, Ka Lok used a dramatic perspective to think of different movements to integrate into the music. He laughingly said, "Thought about how it felt when I was a dancer to help dance for the series. There was a scene about 'Bookworm''s past. When dancing, everyone was cheering and clapping below the stage. Really felt like performing a concert in the past. It belongs to the interaction between the performer and the audience". As for whether 'Bookworm' will develop a romantic storyline with 'Grace Chan' (played by Blossom Chan), Oman said, "It is not known yet. Have to wait for the producer and the scriptwriter to arrange it".

Hoffman Cheng Gifts "Lo and Behold" Wife Vicky Chan with New Song

Hoffman Cheng released the new song 《只准你話我是傻》 [tonight]. Apart from inviting Vicky Chan to be the MV's female lead, it turns out that the new song was also personally written by Hoffman. The content commemorates 'Max' and 'Jenny''s relationship. Even the 'knight' and other elements were included. Is it an implication that Vicky is really leaving the series crew?

Today, Michael Miu and Michelle Yim were in Tseung Kwan O TVB City to cameo for an episode in "Lo and Behold". They are being themselves in the series, acting as ribbon cutting guests for the opening of their endorsement brand's new store. Michelle finds filming sitcoms very fun; the whole group of actors feels like a family. Michael also felt the same; he said that, although it was only a cameo for a day, was also extremely happy.

Asked whether the producer had invited them to act in more episodes, Michael said that "Lo" has always been many watched by many people. The hit series "Lo and Behold" is on every night, and the main actors are really well-received. He himself has never given up on singing, as he does recordings, shoots videos, and puts them on the Internet in his free time. For his latest video, he even got 'Kam Sing On' and 'Chi Chi Hau' Hero Yuen to sing 《上善若水》 together to encourage Hong Kong people. Coincidentally, it is a pun on the names of 'Kam Sing On''s mother, 'Hung Seung Sin' Joyce Tang, and aunt, 'Hung Yeuk Sui' Koni Lui.

Among them, Chow Ka Lok and Hero were incredible, as they were responsible for rapping. Chow Ka Lok was wearing a cap and rapping with a stern look, while Hero was focused on the hip hop hand gestures. Aaryn, who is the best singer among the three of them, was certainly responsible for being the main vocal singing the hook. This time, 'Lo''s strongest boy band is certainly them; later, another group of female fans will be gained!

"Lo and Behold" to Air Seven Days a Week, Starting January 4th, 2020

Today, the cast of the TVB sitcom "Lo and Behold" attended a Halloween event where it was announced that, starting from January 4th, 2020, "Lo" will be airing every night at 8pm from Mondays to Sundays.

An hk01 reporter asked producer Lam Kin Cheung whether there would be some hidden worries about broadcasting seven days a week. He responded, "Well, the period of time for studio [filming] is definitely longer and more, and the actors will be having more tight filming. [We] usually do five days of studio [filming]; now, it has changed to seven days. There are also more locations. Other things are really dependent on the operation of studio [filming] in order for it to work in coordination".
