Filming of TVB Grand Productions Delayed Due to the Pandemic

TVB currently has many grand productions that are waiting to start filming, including "Paediatricians" (starring Kenneth Ma, Kevin Cheng, and Linda Chung), "Big White Duel II" (starring Kenneth, Natalie Tong, Nancy Wu, Kelly Cheung et al.), and "Barrack O'Karma II" (starring Selena Lee and Joel Chan). Although all the actors have been waiting for a long time, due to the pandemic and the ban on gatherings, the filming of many series has been affected. In addition to changing to full indoor shooting and shooting within TVB City, many series have been delayed due to shooting location problems, and filming has failed to start as scheduled. The filming of "Paediatricians" was originally scheduled to start in July, but it has been delayed until August due to the pandemic; however, it has not fully started shooting yet. "Big II", which was originally going to Mainland to film in October, also has to be delayed. "Barrack II" will not start filming until the end of August at the earliest!

Kenneth was originally going to film "Big II" after completing "Paediatricians". He, who is currently on holiday, was asked whether he would have even more time to spend with his girlfriend, Roxanne Tong. He said, "No! Recently, I have also been busy doing homework. There is a lot of preparation work. Certainly not dating all the time! Delaying is also good. There can be even more time to prepare, and I have time to exercise at home: jump rope on the rooftop, push-ups, and planking. Now, if there is no absolute need, would rarely go out. Hope that the pandemic will pass soon". Asked if any work has been postponed because of this, he said, "It's okay! My manager also said that she helped me accept some things. Will shoot later. For me, there is not much of an effect. In addition, I played more doctor characters that were in neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery. Have transferred to paediaric surgery this time, so there is a lot of homework to do. Also have to go to class. Really doing my homework in seclusion!"

Kevin secretly took part in a blessing ceremony and a costume fitting at TVB City with executive Felix To, the producer, et al. the other day. When he was interviewed by "TVB Entertainment News", he admitted that his eldest son usually sticks to him; thus, having to film for several months, he is also afraid that his eldest son would not be able to recognize him. Kevin laughingly said that his youngest son is not as noisy, but he eats a lot, eating once every two hours and more than ten meals a day!

Linda, who returned to Hong Kong to film, was asked whether the delay in filming would slow her return to Canada to spend time with her children. She said, "The most important thing is that everyone is safe. We still plan to finish the series on time. Hope that the virus will be brought under control soon". Bowie Cheung, who is taking part in "Paediatricians", also said, "There is no choice because of the issue of the ban on gatherings. Everyone wants to be rest assured, so it has been postponed; however, everyone has handled it in a systematic and well-organized manner, which is a good thing!"

"Big II" producer Marco Law said in an interview, "It should be delayed until the beginning of November before filming can start. Also have to wait for Kenneth to finish filming 'Paediatricians' first, but we will also not be going to Mainland for location filming that quickly. Will not be going until the beginning of 2021 at the earliest. Hope that the pandemic will stabilize soon".

Joel, who is busy filming "Super Emissary", was originally filming "Barrack II" immediately afterward, but now, it has to be delayed. He said, "I have not received the producer's notice about how long the delay will be yet. Actually, for me, it's a good thing. Allows me to have more time to digest the script and to take a break first".
