Maggie Shiu will return to TVB at the end of this month to film the new comedy "Undercover Gals". The cast also includes Eddie Kwan; the two are playing a prominent married couple. Because they are playing upper-class people, Maggie will have a noble appearance. Other actors include Kelly Cheung, Jeannie Chan, Yuki Law, Mark Ma, et al.
This time, the new series is an investigative comedy. In the series, Maggie and Eddie have a daughter played by Yumi Chung. Yumi is being herself in the series, as she likes to sing and dance and wants to join a girl group. In 1987, Eddie already collaborated with Maggie in the ancient series "The Conspiracy", and they also had many collaborations afterward. He said in an exclusive interview with on.cc [today], "There are many of them. We also collaborated in the stage play 'I Have a Date with Spring' in Shanghai, and also went to Taiwan to shoot a serial drama produced by Stanley Fung. Everyone is also very happy about her coming back this time. We are also good friends. We have already had a costume fitting. We are very harmonious and would discuss [with one another]. Looking forward to having sparks".
Jeannie, Kelly, and Yuki create a lot of laughs while investigating a drug case. Speaking of working with Maggie, Jeannie said in an interview, "Extremely happy. I really like watching her acting projects. However, although it is a comedy this time, the producer told me that I am not responsible for being funny; rather, have to have a sturdy side. It's very unfortunate. Have not collaborated with many of the actors this time, so it feels very fresh". Kelly plays a psychologist in the series. She said, "The role this time is very different from
the usual me. Have filmed some lighthearted series before; the atmosphere was particularly happy during the filming. It is the first time collaborating with the actors in the series, especially Maggie. Also saw her many years ago. Hope to be able to have more scenes with her this time and take advantage of the opportunity to learn from [her]".
As for Mark, who won 'Most Improved Male Artiste' at the beginning of the year, when asked about being promoted by the company and having many leading roles, he said, "Will seize the opportunity. Also confident in myself. The producer is great. Found me to be a 'bad spirit' last time and changed me as a person". He, who is playing an undercover agent in the series this time, has a great sense of justice. On the surface, he is a playboy, but is very suppressed on the inside. Mark said, "In the series, I am said to be good at fighting and also have to ride a motorcycle. Because the character requires having to train to become muscular, have been going to the gym to build [my] muscles recently. I exercise regularly...have a method to get muscular quickly, but also very worn out from training every day".
