- The series is packaged with eight cases, each of which is an independent story, bringing out different life principles.
- Case 1: 'The Mystery of the Gas Lamp' (煤氣燈之謎): Matthew Ho plays a heartthrob. Hera Chan falls into his psychological manipulation and is unable to stop her infatuation.
- Case 2: 'Blood Antique' (血古董): Yuki Law is murdered due to an antique that was passed down from her family.
- Case 3: 'Butterfly Killer' (蝴蝶花殺手): There is a killer who specializes in killing pretty girls. Kaman Kong laughingly said that the prettier the girls, the earlier they die.
- Case 4: 'Dark Genes' (暗黑基因): Ching Ho Wai said that they are a family because of their genes, but the relationship is not as simple as it seems on the surface.
- Case 5: 'Slaughter Exam Room' (殺戮試場): The prosecutor exam room has turned into a slaughter exam room, so either you die or I die?
- Case 6: 'Orphan's Resentment' (孤兒怨): Kayan Yau will join forces with other orphans who possess unique skills to commit crimes.
- Case 7: 'Beautiful Temptation of a Crime' (美麗誘罪): Ivan Yau will play Alice Chan's son. As a cosmetic doctor, he will get involved in this case.
- Case 8: 'What Is the Price of Righteousness' (仁義何價): Helena Law is taking part in this case, which is related to gangs and the grandparent-grandchild relationship.
- Joe Ma will play Pau Hei Yan (包希仁), a prosecutor, but he does not go to court because he pays attention to the feelings of the victims and believes that the most important thing is to assist the victims. For him, the court is only a place for debate. Thus, he will lead the team to use extraordinary methods to get the criminal to plead guilty before going to court so that there is no need for the victims to get hurt again. The truth will be revealed, and the victim will feel a sense of relief from getting justice. He teams up with his assistant, Winki Lai, and cop Ricco Ng to form an iron triangle team investigating cases and standing up for justice together. He has mirror-touch synesthesia, so he can experience other people's feelings and even pain; him and Alice falling in love, separating, and becoming rivals is also related to this illness. He and Alice were each other's first love, but he later gave up his love because he knew that his elder brother also liked her, so she ended up marrying his elder brother. His elder brother later dies, and Alice becomes resentful toward Joe. He and Alice often have opposing views, and they often bicker at work due to their private resentment. Alice even becomes his superior.
- Ricco will play Chin Hung Fei (展熊飛), a Chief Inspector of Police. At first, he goes undercover as a gangster. He is both good and evil. He is an orphan who grows up under the care of Bill Ng, the head of the orphanage. He had a rough upbringing, so when he grows up, he lends a helping hand to people with difficulties and does his best to help the victims; this is similar to Joe's philosophy, so they get along. He is actually a very righteous person; however, when it comes to certain areas, certain people, and certain things, he would do whatever it takes to achieve his goal. If his friends or colleagues get hurt, he gets revenge for them. He has a romantic storyline with Kayan; they go from being a bickering pair to a couple. He changes Hera's perspective on love, but they do not have a romantic storyline.
- Alice will play Wong Chung Sing (王頌星), a barrister who is quite ruthless and is really good at fighting legal battles. She harbours resentment toward Joe, hating him to the point that she marries his elder brother as revenge. There are many cases where she and Joe are in opposition, and they will use the cases to target one another.
- Poon Chi Man will play a super rich person. Ching Ho Wai is his elder sister, while KK Cheung is his younger brother; they were born into a big family. Many complicated things happen in between.
- Angel Chiang will play Pong Sin Yuk (龐善昱), a former prosecutor who is both good and evil. She and Joe have a mentor-mentee relationship. She initially has a lot of trust for her father, Lee Sing Cheung, going to develop in the business world to help him strive for power and position. She is the PR of an enterprise. She is the daughter of a rich family. She will collaborate with Ricco on some cases. Through some cases, she discovers her father's unspeakable secrets. She slowly discovers that her father has done a lot of things that cross the boundaries. She will place righteousness over family, causing him to go to jail.
- Hera will play Chun Seung Yin (秦湘言), Matthew's wife. She gets deceived and verbally abused by him, and it even gets violent. She meets a scumbag and even becomes a stepmother, causing her to no longer believe in love. She has many emotional and crying scenes.
- Kayan will play Pak Yat Tung (白逸桐), a garage attendant who is loyal to her friends. She is a pickpocket. She is a feisty girl and is a rather crude character. She will have a hot relationship with Ricco; she takes the initiative to pursue him. She has to ride a motorcycle.
- Aska Cheung will play Chiu Chi Ching (趙子幀), a trainee prosecutor. He is Joe's disciple. At first, he is rather naive, thinks that book knowledge is either black or white, and does everything by the rules; however, he later finds out that some things can be observed in different ways, or that there can be different methods of resolving a matter. Later, he becomes a rather mature lawyer who is able to take charge of something on his own. He has a crush on Winki. At first, he and Winki are a bickering pair, as she always mocks him for not knowing anything; however, in the end, she finds that he seems to have matured and thinks highly of him. Alice is like his family. KK is his father.
- Matthew will play an idol in a Korean group. He is a Chinese person who flourishes in the Korean entertainment industry after changing his face. He is a scumbag because he does not admit that his wife is Hera. He is a villain. He has four episodes of screentime.
- Lee Sing Cheung will play Pong Jit (龐喆), an incredible businessman.
- Kaman will guest-star as Yuen Tin Chung (袁天樅), a psychotherapist. She has difficulties that she does not bring up. She has many scenes with Ricco.
- Yuki will guest-star as Yiu Hing Yi (饒馨儀), a university student. Her role is related to a supernatural incident. She thinks that her father is already dead and frequently encounters ghosts. She has always been dealing with the death of her father while having to find her father's killer. She has many scenes with Winki.
- Timothy Cheng will play Yiu Ying Bat (饒英拔), Yuki's father.
- Oman Lam will play one of Kayan's elder brothers. They are both orphans. He grew up with a group of children in an orphanage, going around committing all kinds of crimes.
- Feix Lam will play a garage attendant who gets entangled in a case and has to go to court.
- Skin Chow will play Ngai Hap (艾俠).
- Amisha Ng will play Sita.
- Joey Leung will play the younger version of Alice's character. She is a university student who likes to ballet. She gets caught between Felix Ng and Nicholas Yuen.
- Toby Chan will guest-star as the boss of an auction house in a case. She and her husband dismember a corpse together; the corpse is played bu Timothy.
- Tiffany Choi will play Tsui Yin Fung (徐彥楓), a law student.
- Niklas Lam will play a law student. His family is quite wealthy. He has his own insight and thoughts and is slightly arrogant. He and Joey Thye are in the same case.
- Kris Lam will play Ng Ka Chun (伍家俊).
- Carman Kwan will play Yiu Shu Kam (姚舒琴).
- Axity Chong will play Ying Man Bat (刑文珌), a fashion designer. When she was young, she was jealous of Kaman's painting skills, and she knew that her family was well off, so she bullied her.
- Joey Thye will guest-star as Fan Siu Yu (范小禹), a law student.
