Kenneth Ma, who has been in the industry for 20 years, has always been down-to-earth and upright. Recently, he has challenged the major antagonist, 'Wai Chok Wing', for the first time in the anniversary series "Line Walker: Bull Fight", even dyeing his hair light grey; even his image has undergone a major reform! He revealed that, when executive Felix To approached him to play a villain, he readily agreed because there is more room for execution, so he was very happy. Asked whether there would be pressure when playing an antagonist, Kenneth laughingly said, "There is never any pressure when I act because I am an irresponsible actor. Don't care about ratings and awards. Only enjoy the process of filming. Ha ha!"

Evoking a Collective Memory for Series Fans

Apart from the gimmick of a 'TV King' playing a villain for the first time, Kenneth and Raymond Lam are collaborating again after many years, which is also a collective memory of many TV fans. "Also evoked a lot of memories for me. It feels exactly the same as ten-plus years ago. Once [we] get into position and glance [at each other], already know how we want to act it out. This kind of tacit understanding cannot deceive people. What [I] remember the most was, when filming 'The Four', Raymond, Ron Ng, Sammul Chan, and I had the same uniform. Would randomly sit when there was a long shot; the order would be different from the close-up shot, and it has not been discovered to this day. Ha ha!"

Back then, Kenneth was promoted with Raymond, Bosco Wong, Ron, Sammul, and Lai Lok Yi as the 'Olympic Six Stars'. Kenneth frankly said that he is closest with Lai Lok Yi...would occasionally go to his house for dinner and talk about cars, and highly praised his cooking skills as being good. "We are quite close in our personalities. Can say that [we] stand aloof from worldly affairs. The only difference between me and him is that Lok Yi is much richer than I am. He also says that he is waiting to retire. I still have to earn a living. Really slightly jealous of him. Ha ha!" Back then, Raymond, Bosco, et al. were leads early on, but Kenneth confessed that he enjoyed the years of being a passerby. "I didn't long to be a lead, and also don't love to compare. Firstly, did not think that my acting was good back then. Secondly, also not a handsome guy. It's just that viewers have watched me for so many years that they find that I am not so ugly. Besides, it is very fun and happy to act as a cockroach and corpses".

Used to Be a Fat Guy with Acne All Over His Face

Kenneth was over 180 pounds when he returned to Hong Kong after graduating in a foreign country, and he also had acne all over his face, but became thinner and thinner after being in the industry for almost 20 years. He said, "I wanted to be an actor. It's not like [I] wanted to be a celebrity. Ugly but can also try it out! Besides, the economy was very bad in 1998. I sent 60 or 70 résumés in Hong Kong, but there was no response. There was only a response from the Acting Class. Ha ha!"

Acting for 20 years, Kenneth frankly said that he is still full of enthusiasm for acting because only actors can experience different lives. Did a lot of things that [he] would not have done in reality and encountered many good roles, such as "A Fistful of Stances", "The Hippocratic Crush", "The Exorcist's Meter", etc. Already luckier than a lot of actors. He said, "Certainly happy to encounter a good script; however, even if [I] encounter a script that is not so good, [I] can find fun in the character, a partner, or a scene. Thus, I have never encountered a script that had zero fun!"
