- Eight episodes long.
- The series is about seven people, who are frustrated in their careers and have no way out, inadvertently setting up a deception troupe. They use their experience as former filmmakers to deceive everyone. The seven-member deception troupe consists of Lawrence Cheng, Ngo Ka Nin, Angel Chiang, Sammi Cheung, Kirby Lam, Vincent Lam, and Enson Lau.
- Lawrence will guest-star as Herman Lee On (李安), the leader of the deception troupe and a producer.
- Ngo Ka Nin will play Chan Chi Yeung (陳志揚), an award-winning director. He has a romantic storyline with Angel. There seems to be love triangle among him, Angel, and Max Cheung.
- Angel will play Lee Sa Sa (李莎莎), an artsy, aloof, and confident movie screenwriter who has a sharp observation of people. She gets recognized by producer Lawrence. She has a light romantic storyline with Ngo Ka Nin; they are a couple with the feeling of an old married couple.
- Sammi will play Lau Ka Ling (劉嘉玲), a has-been celebrity. Lawrence says that she is at the start of the seventh tier or the end of the sixth tier. She has been in the industry for many years but has not gotten her break yet, but she is very passionate about acting. She is one of the members of the deception troupe.
- Kirby will play a production designer who is addicted to alcohol. She is the mother of an eight-year-old daughter.
- Vincent will play a martial arts director.
- Enson will play Choi Chi Lok (蔡子樂), Ngo Ka Nin's assistant director who is engrossed in movies and carries a silliness. He has hopes for movies. One day, Lawrence holds a talk at a university, and Enson goes to chat with him, but Lawrence brings him to see his idol of artistic films, so he naturally joins the troupe. Ngo Ka Nin is his idol. He wants to become a director. Coincidentally, JW holds a movie investment competition about scriptwriting, and he ends up winning. He is also called 「樂仔」.
- JW will play the boss of a science and technology company. She is a domineering CEO who is quite crazy. She really likes movies and love. Fred Cheng and Enson work for her. She is like the Asian version of Steve Jobs. She has an emotional line with Alex Lam (not sure if it is a love line); the plot is rather funny, and there are no intimate scenes. She is in one of the short stories.
- Max will play Cheung Chung (張忠), an evidence room cop who is responsible for arresting the deception troupe. He loves movies. He is Ngo Ka Nin's good friend; they have a close relationship.
- Fred will play a director who is rather successful in the movie industry. He won a Hong Kong Film Award before; thus, JW hires him to help her shoot a movie or write a script. He is Ngo Ka Nin's rival. He used to be Ngo Ka Nin's production assistant but later ventured out and shot a movie, which was very successul, but Ngo Ka Nin thinks that he stole his idea. He has more scenes with JW.
- Rosanne Lui will play Angel's mother.
- Poon Chi Man will play a rich father.
- Tse Ho Yat will play Poon Chi Man's son.
- To Yin Gor will play a triad boss.
- Snow Suen is rather coquettish. She and her boss, Geoffrey Wong, have a slight ambiguity.
- Carlo Ng will play Griselda Yeung's husband.

FYI: The Mainland title of this series is 《荒誕劇團》 (literally translated as "Absurd Troupe"). The official English title is "Fraudstars".
