- The story talks about the police acting as guardians of the dark night guarding this city, and through different cases, revealing the stories behind the people in the cases and exploring the dark side of society.
- The series is crime drama. The focus of the cases will be on the victims and those who died in the cases. The series will bring out the stories behind them, presenting the dark side of society.
- Ruco Chan will play Ko Fai (高輝), a police officer of the Major Crimes Unit who was once an undercover. He suffered a heavy blow because of the triads' hauling operation, and has since become demoralized. He has a rather conservative and inflexible personality, and is a simple person. He speaks listlessly. He is not very capable, and he becomes very 'hea' after he encounters an accident. He and the people in the triad sociey were once known as brothers, but now, he has returned to his position as a police officer, still having to face the entanglement between the past brotherhood and justice. He and Alice Chan are partners in the Major Crimes Unit; they have a more mature romantic storyline.
- Alice will play Fong Chi Kiu (方梓翹), a Station Sergeant of Central District's Major Crimes Unit. She has a lot of drive and is always working, and has a fiery temper. She is rather straightforward, tough, and is slightly mean. She is a single mother with a 14-year-old son who is starting to rebel. She finds satisfaction from work; however, her boyfriend suggests having her family move to Shanghai. She has to make a choice between finding herself and her family. She has a talented and handsome boyfriend (played by Andrew Yuen) who is an extremely good boyfriend, but he is too good, which is a lot of pressure on her, and her son also does not really like him. After separating with her ex-husband, she has always been enjoying being loved because Andrew always thinks of her, but she does not show much consideration for him. Her son is in a rebellious phase, so she can feel that her son needs some time to get accustomed to him and that they are not really close. She cannot fully accept her relationship with Andrew because of her son. She has an extraordinary relationship with Ruco. She and Ruco are partners who solve cases together; after a lot of friction, they develop a tacit understanding.
- Sharon Chan will play Lo Sin Man (盧倩雯), who gave birth to a gang leader's daughter when she was young. She is burdened with a heavy past; she wants to love but cannot love. She and Lee Kwok Lun have a daughter, Kaman Kong; she had her before she was 18 years old. Back then, Ruco was ordered by the gang leader to take care of the then-pregnant her, and affection between the two developed with time. Unfortunately, due to the two's past, they were unable to develop further. For many years, their ambiguous relationship has been frozen. She greatly admires Ruco, and she has a daughter but no husband, so Ruco takes care of them a lot of the time; they have a complicated relationship that encompasses friendship and gratitude. Ruco gets entangled in her relationship with Lee Kwok Lun. Her and Kaman's relationship is like that of sisters. She is also called 「Da姐」.
- Lee Kwok Lun will play a gang leader.
- Kaman will play Lo Siu Po (盧小寶), a 20-year-old KOL who is a high-functioning sociopath. She is a new generation of the Internet. Through shooting videos and being a KOL, she discovers a lot of people's secrets, including Brian Tse's secret. She gets raped by someone. Her family owns a hot pot restaurant.
- Brian will play Lee Man Kit (李文杰), the developer of a gaming company who has trained many youngsters. He is an eloquent and clever finance talent who went from rags to riches. He is a new generation of the Internet. He meets Kaman by chance; the have a different romantic storyline.
- Andrew will play Lam Wai Lun (林偉倫), a gentle businessman. He is Alice's perfect boyfriend.
- Stephanie Che will play Tong Yuk Lan (湯玉蘭, a Senior Inspector of Police of the Major Crimes Unit. Ruco and Alice are her colleagues.
- Paisley Hu will guest-star as a career woman in a case.
- Parkman Wong will play a gangster.
- Ken Law will play 「翻啄」, a finance company employee. He is a gangster.
- Lee Sing Cheung will play a gang leader. He and Lee Kwok Lun started their careers together, but he is stuck at a hot pot restaurant. He cannot stand Lee Kwok Lun, so he does a lot of illegal things. Kaman is his daughter.
- Chun Kai Wai will play a hot pot restaurant employee.
- Penny Chan will play a gangster who sells drugs.
- Leo Kwan will play a cop who follows, Alice, Ruco, and Stephanie Che in investigating cases.
- Andy Wong will play Law Ka Ming (羅家明), a police constable in the Major Crimes Unit.
- Milkson Fong will play 「食腦」, a gangster who sells drugs.
- Ngai Wai Man will play a Yuki Law's father. He is a bad, irresponsible father who has a mistress. His daughter dies.
- Wai Lit will play a gangster.
- Kevin Tong will play a gangster who sells drugs.
- Kanice Lau will play May Chow Hang Mei (周幸美), a CID.
- Amisha Ng will play Kei Kei (淇淇).
- Stephanie Au will play a 16-year-old ludicrous problem student who is willing to be a rent-a-girlfriend to make fast money. She is Paisley's daughter.
- Arthur Sy will play the leader of ruffians, leading high school students.
- Nono Yeung will play a high school student. He is Alice's son, who is entering a rebellious phase. He does not really want to study and is always gaming. He has a crush on Kaman.
- Blossom Chan will play Amy.
