TVB 1999 Calendar
Back then, the first month was seen as the most important month. It would always showcase TVB's 'Number One Brother' and 'Number One Sister'. After the success of 1997's "Old Time Buddy", Gallen and Maggie again played Lee Kei and Ching Bo Chu in "Old Time Buddy - To Catch a Thief". In 1999, Maggie also received one of the five TVB awards for the millennium's 'Most Memorable Female Leads' for her role as Ching Bo Chu (the other four were Josephine Siao's Lam Ah Chun, Liza Wang's Lok Lam in "A House Is Not a Home", Nancy Sit's Leung Yun Ho in "A Kindred Spirit", and Angie Chiu in "The Bund").
In 1998, Lawrence and Kenix starred in the series "Till When Do Us Part". Like Maggie, Lawrence also received one of the five TVB awards for the millennium's 'Most Memorable Male Leads' for Paul Ching Chi Mei in "Healing Hands" (the other four were Chow Yun Fat, Damian Lau, Andy Lau, and Dicky Cheung).
In 1998, Yu Yeung returned to TVB to film "A Kindred Spirit", playing Nancy's new love interest, Ko San Ching.
There are two main reasons why certain artistes get to be in the calendar: one, to show who is "big" in TVB; two, to show who will get promoted.
In 1999, the ratings of "A Road to Eternity" peaked at 45 points. It was also after this series that Gordon stabilized his status as a male lead.
Other than starring in two series together in 1999 ("A Man's Best Friend" and "Detective Investigation Files IV"), Louis and Jessica also won TVB's 'Favourite Male Lead' and 'Favourite Female Lead'. The ratings of "Detective Investigation Files IV" peaked at 40 points.
"A Kindred Spirit" has made Ah Hoi and Choi Yiu/Ah Gwai household names.
In 1999, Nick and Ada were not in any series together, but Nick had "Game of Deceit" aired and Ada had "A Matter of Business" aired.
Fiona and Frankie were one of the earlier fa dans and siu sangs to be on TVB's calendar. They have already appeared on the calendar in the early '90s.
"Untraceable Evidence" aired on December 22, 1997. Due to the Christmas holidays, the first week ratings were very poor; however, the second week of ratings went to an average of 33 points from an average of 27 points on its first week. The ending even peaked at 37 points. In 1999, TVB aired "Untraceable Evidence II" again during the holidays (January 4 - January 29), but still managed to peak at 41 points. Everybody was in love with Flora!
After "Secret of the Heart", Amy did not film for TVB until 2002's,"The Trust of a Lifetime". Felix, on the other hand, had four series: "Kung Fu Master from Guangdong", "Time Off", "Flying Fox of the Snowy Mountain", and "Incurable Traits".
In 1999, Bobby and Esther each had their own series. Bobby's "Happy Ever After" peaked at 40 points, while Esther's "A Loving Spirit" peaked atgoo 39 points. Although they were filming "Armed Reaction II" in 1999, they managed to show up in "Anti-Crime Squad" (aired in 1999) as cameos with character names from "Taming of the Princess".

All Singers for TVB Anniversary 2008
Charlene Choi, Kay Tse, Denise Ho, Eric Suen, Wong Cho Lam, and Justin Lo open the party singing songs from 'The Four Heavenly Kings'.
George Lam and Shirley Kwan (with Lee Heung Kam) sing while the singers catwalk their costumes.
Grasshopper dances with Carol (Dodo) Cheng.
Eason Chan sings with Sun Nan.
Susanna Kwan, Miriam Yeung, and Joey Yung sing classic theme songs from "Hotel", "Radio Tycoon", "A Kindred Spirit", "Awakening Story", and "Heart of Greed".
Kenny B @ Wynners, Joey Tang @ Tai Chi, So Tak Wah @ Blue Jeans, and Paul Wong @ Beyond jam songs.
Leo Ku sings with Qing Shan.
Hacken Lee and Alan Tam sing songs from the '80s.
Personal Note: This year's "All Singers for TVB Anniversary" is actually not bad, but I still would have liked more singing though. A lot of newbies I don't know were here because Hacken said that most of the big singers were not in HK. The best costumes were Eric, Eason, Wong Cho Lam, and Kary Ng. Steven Ma told Linda Chung to dress up as Mariyn Monroe.

3 Weekly: Moses' Love - Moses Chan
"When You Fall in Love With Me"When Moses was asked to pose, he did a very cool pose and said 得戚ly, "I have never depended on good looks or coolness to get the appreciations from others. My acting is the result of training and my charm is slowly developed. Once you like me, there will be no turning back! Ha ha ha...." After saying that, it suddenly felt like Ah Ka has taken over Moses' body.
Afterthoughts:
Most of the context in this article is similar to the old articles about Moses.
- His love life, which he never openly talks about
- Bernice Liu
- He describes his relationship with Bernice as "We look out for each other".
- How he entered TVB
- How he is favoured by TVB executives
- NG-ed 40 to 50 times while filming "Where the Legend Begins" back in 2002
- He analyzed his few rumours from entering the business and came to a simple conclusion: "When compared to the average person, I have a lot of self-control. Plus, when it comes to love, I am very faithful".
- He purposely gained weight for the beach scene in "Moonlight Resonance" to exhibit Kate Tsui's hot body.
Also, Moses said that, one time, Kate offered to catch the same taxi with Moses, but when Moses found out that it would just be the two of them in the taxi, he rejected her. He didn't want the media to make up stories. Even though he knew Kate was being nice, he felt bad for rejecting her. He knows that she wouldn't mind.

Moses Chan and Tavia Yeung Strike Waltz Pose
Moses Chan and Tavia Yeung were present at a mall function wearing ballroom clothes and dancing the waltz. Before the function, Tavia quickly learned a few dance steps and was very worried about her dress falling off. Tavia had fallen ill recently and had lost a few pounds, making her tube top and back-revealing dress seem a bit loose. Although she had made all the precautions to prevent any revealing of herself, she instructed Moses to hold tightly onto her waist while dancing and not to step on her dress.Moses has already admitted to losing out on this year's 'Best Actor' award, saying he will not repeat this year. He believes it is between Ha Yu and Raymond Lam.
Personal Note: I was wondering where Tavia has been recently. She wasn't at Thursday's pre-event to get her 'Ten Year Gold Medal' for her ten-year service at TVB with Ron and Raymond.
I so wanted to see the three of them to hold their gold medals together. It would have looked something like the praying of the Buddha at Lantau Island (not the blessing ceremony, but the praying ceremony before the cast left to film "Twin of Brothers") for "Twin of Brothers" where Tavia was standing between Raymond and Ron and elbowing the both of them. How time passes by so fast...that happened on July 17, 2003. Wow!
