[Kenneth Ma] frankly admits to being a 'bore'; apart from playing soccer, mostly just stays at home. [His] favourite outfit is a tank top and jeans, and [his] favourite pastime is looking after [his] cats. In the past year, because of his wife, Roxanne Tong, he has picked up another interest: watching horror movies.
"I also never expected my wife to like watching horror movies so much. We've watched almost every horror movie available online, yet she doesn't get scared when watching horror movies. For example, [when] watching 'Ring', she'd actually analyze how Sadako crawls out of the TV screen and whether she crawls out is good or not...ha ha".
When the naturally blank encounters a unicorn, even the mundane details of life become delightful.
Another amusing quirk about Kenneth was discovered: whenever he is being photographed, really likes to keep [his] hands in [his] pockets. In the pictures taken for the interview, there was 80 percent that features the exact same facial expression and the hands-in-pockets pose. Looking back on the married couple's pictures on Roxanne's IG, his expression remains virtually the same in most of the pictures; Roxanne is the only one actively striking poses, so she also could not help but tease her husband, "How is it possible that the [expression] has not moved at all?"
The naturally bland reputation is certainly well-earned.
Quite Good to Be Boring!
When the somewhat wooden Kenneth encountered Roxanne, who studied psychology, she had a knack for peeling back the layers of her husband's heart, much like peeling an onion.
"She really knows how to read my mind; it is quite easy to get me to open up. In the past, even with [my] girlfriends, also rarely talked about my own things. After being with her, I talk a lot more. Sometimes she knows that I'm unhappy just my looking at my facial expressions. She knows how to guide me to share my innermost feelings without holding back. She has the ability to make me trust her and give me a sense of security".
In viewers' eyes, Kenneth is very faithful and is not a player; however, to put it bluntly, [he] is boring. Upon hearing this, he readily admitted it: "My wife also often says that I'm boring, but she also says that being boring is quite good...can stay at home and keep her company all the time".
In fact, both he and Roxanne like to stay at home; on days where there is no work, able to not leave the house for days on end. "If [we] don't need to work, we can stay at home and not step out the door for an entire week, playing with the cats, brewing coffee, and watching movies. My wife really likes to watch horror movies and has recently become obsessed with learning about coffee, always brewing different coffees for me to drink".
Kenneth's faithfulness is not an act. Recently, Roxanne was looking back at text messages that her husband had sent her and discovered that over 2000 messages used the exact same expressing love emoji. "She said to me, 'Look how boring you are...sending this one to me again'. However, she is actually very happy. These are our sweet memories".
His wife likes that he is 'boring', while he loves her sense of humour. "While watching a movie at home, she would suddenly do impressions of this one and that one, and is good at doing impressions. I always laugh at her for being suitable for doing skits. As long as she encounters the right role, would definitely nail it".
Roxanne's absentmindedness also becomes endearing in his eyes. "Sometimes she would twist her ankle while walking...it's very funny. Thus, whenever we go out, I would definitely hold onto her hand tightly so that she would not fall".
When an emotional Aquarius guy encounters a Taurus girl, bickering also becomes delightful. "[We] are human. Of course, there are times when [we] are in a bad mood, but usually, when we sense an argument brewing, would not say anything. We cool off, and then she might go play with [our] female cat, while I would go play with [our] male cat...then would not continue quarrelling".
Roxanne has been leading a life of luxury lately; it has been rumoured that she has been taking care of her health in preparation for having a baby. However, Kenneth said, "Taking care of one's health does not necessarily mean it's for the sake of having a baby. Health is very important. She used to stay up very late and had a somewhat inverted sleep schedule; however, after being with me, [she] slowly got [her] routine adjusted by me. I go to bed very early and have to get up at 4 or 5am to feed the cats, so if [we] don't have to work, we sleep after 9 or 10pm".
The naturally blank and the unicorn are both willing to change for love. "The past me would not waste too much time on a girlfriend...needed a lot of me time. However, I am now willing to spend more time with my wife. It's the same with my wife. In the past, she would ask her boyfriend to accommodate her; now, would change herself for me".
