Kenneth Ma and Roxanne Tong have been dating for over two years and have always been sweetly in love. The two have also had many marriage rumours, but Kenneth only said that the marriage date has not been confirmed yet, only expressing that he had plans to marry Roxanne in 2023 and already having a consensus to have a destination wedding! Stepping into 2023, the good news has finally come out. Kenneth posted a pair of [pony and] unicorn plushies on his social media. There was a ring on the head of the unicorn representing Roxanne. Kenneth simply posted ring and heart emojis and wrote, "#forever". Roxanne also posted the picture on IG and announced the good news: "2023 1.1 13:14 #1plus1 #forever #engaged". The future newlyweds accepted an interview with stheadline today. Regarding everyone's blessings, the two were certainly very grateful. Roxanne said, "We actually haven't decided on many things yet, so just announced it first. We are not talking about other details. Want to keep some secrets as fond memories".
Later, Kenneth accepted a telephone interview with stheadline: "Previously said that [I] plan to get married in 2023. The marriage proposal was very simple and happy. Two people every day...would not be a big group of people...adding two cats at most. (Was Roxanne moved to tears?) You ask her. I don't think she cried". He said that [they] have started to prepare for the wedding. Previously, they said that they hope to have a destination wedding, but the format has not been decided yet...will tell everyone when the time is right. Bride-to-be Roxanne also said, "Keeping the process and details of the proposal in [my] heart. Have not talked about it with others all this time. All in all, was happy, moved, and very comfortable. (Were you moved to tears?) Not talking about it. There's a consensus to not talk about it". Speaking of already having good news to announce at the start of the new year, she said that she hopes to have a new start and that everyone is happy. This year, the New Year's atmosphere is great...hope that 2023 will get better and better.
As for the wedding date, Roxanne said that, after opening the borders, many people are travelling and having destination weddings. In addition, she likes spontaneity, and it may change at any time, so it has not been decided yet. She is afraid of the heat, so it will most likely be in autumn...hope to get married within this year. Previously, Stephen Wong attended an event where he suggested going to Turkey to shoot wedding pictures with Kenneth; she said that she did not hear Stephen mention it but knows that Turkey is very pretty. However, she is afraid of the heat; she hopes to go travelling in Europe. She and Kenneth went to Japan for leisure earlier...want to fly farther next time. As for whether she will be a mother as soon as possible, she expressed that this question is too far away...will slowly plan after marriage.
Roxanne's good friend, Tracy Chu, revealed that they were not present during the proposal: "We were not present during the proposal, but after knowing their news, also extremely happy for them!" Angel Chiang was caring toward her good friend, telling everyone to give the two future newlyweds space: "Announcing the good news on January 1st...very happy for them!!! Congratulations to Roxanne and Kenneth!!! A lot of people should be giving them their blessings now, and [they] have to prepare a lot of things, so give them some space and time".
