- The series will also have the dramatic plotlines that are in the originals, but there will the addition of new elements. In the original stories, the four leads die for love, but the series' ending may not necessarily be like this; there will be an unexpected surprise.
- The background of the story happens in a fabricated time and space and place. The series will have a Western flavour; there are a lot of cowboy-style shootouts.
- There are three regions in this time and space, among which there are two big families, and there is also an eighth region with a special background.
- The Law family consists of Elena Kong, Judy Kwong, Felix Ng, Poon Chi Man, Frederick Chui, and Terence Siu. The rich Zhu family that runs a pharmaceutical business consists of Timothy Cheng, Helen Ma, Yuki Law, Tsui Wing, Wai Lit, Kelly Gu, Mok Wai Man, and Michael Wai.
- Moses Chan will play Liang Shanbo (梁山伯), a gun god. He and Aimee Chan are lovers, but there are not too many sweet scenes. Initially, they even want to kill each other. There are many rivalry scenes, loving vigourously for once.
- Aimee will play Zhu Yingtai (祝英台), the chairperson of a pharmaceutical business and the person in charge of the Zhu family. She dresses up as a man. She is a fighter girl. She has action and gunfire scenes. She has a rough side.
- Joman Chiang will play Zhu Yinghua (祝英華), the boss lady of a rice shop. She is more of a wanderer and is more tragic. She seems ordinary, but she is not simple. She is a gun god. She is the mother of one son. There are a lot of action scenes. She even intervenes in Moses and Aimee's relationship.
- Chow Ka Lok will Law Mat Au (羅密歐), a doctor. His character is rather quiet and gentle but is also passionate and cheerful. He has a lot of Shakespearean-like dialogue. His and Kayan Yau's love story is closer to the original novel; it begins with love at first sight, unable to help themselves, and the love is vigourous. There are intimate scenes.
- Kayan will play Chu Lai Yip (茱麗葉). She is very rebellious and free of outmoded ways of thinking. She has a lot of action and gun-wielding scenes.
- Elena will play To Lai (杜拉), Poon Chi Man's third wife. She has four sons and one daughter. She has many different looks.
- Judy will play a more mature character. She is in the line with Chow Ka Lok and Felix.
- King Lam will play 「Copy哥」, a local tyrant.
- Helen will play Aimee's mother.
- Man Yeung will play a local tyrant. He is villain from head to toe.
- Tsui Wing will play Ma Man Choi (馬文才).
- Kelly Gu will play the younger version of Aimee's character.
- Kyle Lee will play the younger version of Moses' character. He is a local tyrant.
- Ho Pak Lin will play 「皓仔」, Joman's son.
- Michael will play Chu Chi Ko (朱志高), the son of a pharmaceutical business.
- To Yin Gor will play a supporter of justice.
- Andy Siu will play a supporter of justice.
- So Lai Ming will play a bold and unconstrained prostitute in a brothel from Japan.
- Fanny Lee will play Rose, a prostitute in a brothel. She values relationships and is sentimental, sincere, and clever.
- Clementine Sze will play a prostitute in a brothel.
- Chu Fei Fei will play a prostitute in a brothel.
- Aurora Li will play 「泥鰻姐」, a local tyrant.
- Gary Tam will play Leo Kwan, a private investigator.
- Frankie Choi will play Roy, a slightly antagonistic character.
- Tony Chui will play John for one episode.
