- The story is divided into four stages: divorce, infidelity, wrong love, and restoration. Each theme has five episodes, and each episode will start with one or two character perspectives, talking about the same thing from his or her perspective.
- Him Law and Yoyo Chen will play husband and wife. Since the story spans five to eight years, the two have a 12-year-old daughter, as well as an 18-year-old daughter played by Stephanie Au.
- Him will play Poon Sin Yan (潘善仁), a writer and university lecturer. He has a rather heavy burden. He is in a very bad condition because there are many problems: being unhappy about his divorce, family pressure, and issues about his child's further education. He lives a hapless and dejected life after his divorce. His and Yoyo's relationship is not good at first. He has three separate romantic relationships (with Yoyo, Venus Wong, and Toby Chan), and he has many intense scenes. He and Yoyo are originally a pair, but his emotional affair leads to a divorce; at the same time, he develops a romance with Toby. He is hypocritical and rigidly adheres to old ideas; even with Venus, it is not really an extramarital affair. There is a scene where he is being intimate with Yoyo but is fantasizing about Venus. The breakdown of his and Yoyo's marriage causes their daughter to be hurt. He has kiss scenes with Yoyo and Venus.
- Yoyo will play Cheung Ming Sam (張明芯), a cooking Internet celebrity. She has many dancing scenes; thus, the producer has arranged for a well-known dance teacher to teach her social dance techniques. She is the boss lady of a domestic helper company. She and Him are a divorced couple. The series starts off talking about the breakdown of her marriage with Him. After her divorce from Him, she gets pursued by her university classmate, Lai Lok Yi, getting entangled among the two guys; the three's relationship is complicated. She has huge mood swings. It seems as though she is alway crying, crying when she is happy and unhappy. She has many intense scenes; the most intense ones are with Lai Lok Yi.
- Lai Lok Yi will play the incarnation of a perfect man. He is tall, handsome, and rich, so many females get close to him. He and Winki Lai are a couple; they have a lot of intimate scenes. Because of his experiences, he no longer dares to immerse himself into loving someone. He is a chaotic person. He fails to live up to Winki, who is always by his side. He also has a romance with Yoyo. He dates Winki at first, and then later falls in love with the divorcée Yoyo; he also gets entangled among different members of the opposite sex. He has kiss scenes with Yoyo, Winki, and Purple Ng.
- Winki will play Lui Ching Lam (呂靜林), Venus' elder sister. She really loves Lai Lok Yi; she knows that he has a lot of women, but she still puts up with him, and they seem to do things that would greatly hurt the other.
- Venus will play Lui Ching Hoi (呂靜海), a loveholic who would die for a guy. Her mistake causes the people around her to suffer. She has relationships with Him and Joey Law; she has many intimate scenes with them, but it is more intense with Him, even having a bed scene. She has some antagonistic sides.
- Joey will play a crude and rough character. He and Venus are best friends; he would support her regardless of what happens to her. He has an intense scene with Nicole Wu.
- Toby will play Ho Yeuk Suet (何若雪), a marriage and family counselor. She is Him's ex.
- Stephanie will play Poon Yuet, a university student. She is the 18-year-old daughter of Him and Yoyo; because of her rebellious personality, she often gets into arguments with them. She starts to rebel at age 12. When she gets older, she becomes slightly rebellious, chases after trends, and likes to dress up. She meets a bad guy and does a lot of things to get her parents' attention. She has intimate scenes and a romantic storyline.
- Wai Lit will play Him's father; they have a complex relationship. He has disagreements with his daughter-in-law, Yoyo.
- Law Koon Lan will play Venus' maternal grandmother.
- Eva Lai will play Ku Lan (顧蘭).
- Heidi Chu will play Helen, a barrister.
- Tiffany Ng will play a university student.
- Vincent Choi will appear in one scene as a young finance talent.
