TVB has recently confirmed a remake of the 'godly series' "Return of the Cuckoo" from 20 years ago. The 2000 version starred Julian Cheung and Charmaine Sheh as 'Chor Gor Gor' and 'Chuk Kwan Ho' respectively. After its huge popularity, it was made into a movie version, and the two were also the leads. Earlier, it was rumoured that TVB would be promoting Regina Ho to take on the character 'Chuk Kwan Ho'. As for the character ''Chor Gor Gor' Man Chor', it was not announced. This newspaper received news that Hubert Wu is becoming the new version of 'Chor Gor Gor' because TVB hopes to find a male artiste who can sing, act, and is liked by the audience to play the role, just like Julian did in the past, as he was the lead and also sang the theme song.

It is known that the new series will start filming in February of next year. Due to the pandemic, it cannot be shot in Macau. The background of the series will be changed to Lau Fau Shan. Apart from the male and female leads already having been selected, 'Szeto Lai Sun', played by Steven Ma, who competed with 'Chor Gor Gor' for 'Kwan Ho', will be played by Joey Law; 'Chu Sa Kiu (Aunt Q)', played by Nancy Sit, will be played by Michelle Yim, but the character setup has been changed from 'Chor Gor Gor''s adoptive mother to his paternal grandmother.

Has Not Received the News: There Is Definite Pressure

When Hubert was interviewed by on.cc, he frankly said that he had not received a notice from the company. When asked whether he would be happy or feel pressured if he were to really play 'Chor Gor Gor', he said, "Have not thought about it! Really have not thought about it, so I also don't know how to respond because I have not received the news. (Did you watch the broadcast back then?) I should have been only ten years old at the time. Have not seen it in its entirety, but I am familiar with the song 《祝君好》. Also previously sang it outside at commercial appearances. If it is true, there would definitely be pressure. Previously had such exceptional seniors perform it before, and this was also a godly series! (Have to learn sign language though!) If this character is really handed over to me, apart from doing my best, for the time being, I really don't know what other things are like!"

As for the new version of 'Chuk Kwan Ho', Regina also expressed in an interview that, if she had the opportunity, she would definitely do her best: "Actually, I also just knew from seeing the report. I just know that there will be some new work soon, but I don't know the details yet. If the company gives me an opportunity, I would act it out very diligently. For the time being, I am not clear about other things yet".
