"Back to the Past" Box Office Surpasses $66 Million, Louis Koo Blows Kisses, Actors' Salaries Are a Trade Secret

Louis Koo, Jessica Hsuan, Raymond Lam, Sonija Kwok, Joyce Tang, and Kevin Chu attended an appreciation banquet for the movie "Back to the Past" in Causeway Bay last night to celebrate the box office surpassing $66 million in Hong Kong and Macau. Louis, in a rare move, blew kisses twice.

Louis expressed feeling happy about this movie's good results and still hopes to achieve even higher box office figures. Netizens posted a clip of him dancing in an MV in the past, hoping to see him dance again. Louis readily said, "If the Hong Kong box office surpasses $200 million, I'll dance! To make everyone happy. If the box office exceeds $120 million, will first sing. How come it sounds like fundraising?"

Talking about him opening an account on Threads and interacting with netizens, rapidly gaining 200,000 followers, Jessica denied being the one who got Louis into it. Louis said that he uses Discord and blogs, and has had a Threads account for a long time, but just mostly browses. During a recent movie promotion, [he] was encouraged to communicate online, so [he] complied, jokingly saying, "I'm online more diligently than Jessica now...also looked at her posts and comments".

Jessica laughingly said, "Are my posts and comments silly?" Louis said, "No. Very meaningful!" Some netizens unearthed some semi-nude photos that Louis shot in the past. He kept a slight smile and said, "Have read all of the netizens' comments; however, regarding my own photos...."

Many netizens are discussing when the extended version of "Back" will be released. Louis expressed that the editing and post-production will take three or four weeks...will observe the market's response. The box office needs to at least exceed $100 million in order to consider releasing an extended version to meet the audience's demand. Jessica added, "Some of the family life scenes are very interesting. Look forward to them being able to appear in the extended version to bring joy and memories to everyone".

In addition, a list of salaries for the cast of "Back" circulated online, claiming that Jessica received $1.5 million and Louis received no salary. Louis replied, "I am responding once on behalf of the company. We cannot disclose anything involving the company's trade secrets. Filming every movie is difficult. Every actor has put in effort. I did what I was supposed to do. It doesn't matter how hard it is; what matters is that the audience likes it. Hope that the box office will be profitable to make the atmosphere in the movie industry better".

Louis' "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In" is about to start shooting a sequel. Regading Sidney Yim recommending herself to join to do action scenes, but it depends on Louis' decision, Jessica chimed in, "I also want to join. Everyone taught me.
