Kayee Tam revealed earlier that she had personally written a Chinese version of "Can You Hear" called 《願留住你》. Her duet partner is "Big White Duel"'s Kenneth Ma.
Kayee expressed, "This time, it was me who actually boldly went to Kenneth for a collaboration. Because [we] also had a chance to collaborate when filming 'The Exorcist's Meter' earlier, I wrote these Chinese lyrics and invited him to duet with me". Kenneth actually also released his solo work before, and has also had experience dueting with other singers; thus, regarding Kayee's invitation, he quickly agreed to it. Kayee also said, "Initially, he also said that he was scared that he would not sing it nicely. Of course, I comforted him and told him that he did not have to worry. The recording could be done slowly. Finally, he made me a promise but jokingly said that, if the song is recorded such that it does not sound good, then it would not be released". Initially, Kayee only planned on treating the song as a cover, putting it online after recording it. Afterward, the company heard the finished product, and then proposed an official release.
The song has not been released yet; however, it can be imagined from the song title, 《願留住你》, that the content of the song lyrics must be related to love. Kayee explained, "When I recorded 'Can You Hear', I kept thinking about a past relationship because, before entering the industry, I previously dated a German guy; however, in the end, [we] were forced to separate due to the long distance. While recording and thinking about this past relationship, I discovered that this relationship is actually very unforgettable, so I could not help but cry during the recording". For the lyrics of this Chinese version, Kayee was thinking about that German guy, harbouring that longing to write the next character and phrase; thus, it may be even more heartfelt than the original.
