- The main outdoor scenes are shot in Hong Kong, while the studio scenes are shot in Mainland. There is location filming in Japan for seven days.
- The title of the series also has a subtitle, 'The Redemption of Survivors', which also refers to the fact that the three leads have the additional identity of survivors. They have an additional sense of mission, which is to seek relief and redemption for the survivors.
- Bosco Wong will continue to play Yu Sing Pak (余星柏), who is in the forensic science department. It starts off with him and Venus Wong being newlyweds. Unfortunately, Venus disappeared during their honeymoon abroad, so he spends all of his spare time looking for his missing wife. His character is rather heavy. He suffered a major blow and has become much more depressed than before. His dialogue has a lot of technical terms. He and Jacky Cai are merely friends; there is no romantic storyline. He and Mason Fung will have many scenes opposite each other.
- Benjamin Yuen is in the Major Crimes Unit. He has many action scenes. In the first episode, he has already broken up with Sisley Choi. He develops a vague relationship with Kelly Fu. He and Mark Ma are good friends; he frequently helps him take care of his son. He takes care of a six-year-old for his sister-in-law, Kelly.
- Jacky is in the forensic pathology department. In the previous installment, she encountered the serial killer Kelvin Kwan, which left her with a huge trauma. In this installment, Kelvin will appear as another character; when she re-encounters the man who caused her to suffer from PTSD, it has a huge impact. Stuck in the middle of Bosco and Benjamin, she is responsible for being the funny one. She and Bosco are good partners.
- Joman Chiang will play a top international model. She is Bosco's neighbour.
- Kelly will play Ng Shu Ting (吳書婷), who specializes in jewels. She and Mark are a married couple; they have a six-year-old son. She has many heavy and crumbling scenes.
- Joey Thye will play Fong Hoi Yan (方凱欣), Bosco's subordinate.
- Kelvin will play Gabriel Sam Yeung (沈陽), a character who is both good and evil. He circles around Jacky.
- Yvette Chan will play the daughter of a wealthy family who needs mental support. She lacks a sense of security. She gets kidnapped and brutally tortured. After getting kidnapped, she suffers from PTSD and has psychological and mental problems and chaotic thoughts. She has a bit of a mental illness and dual personalities. She has a romantic storyline with Benjamin; she is quite obsessed with him.
- Mason will play the autistic younger brother of Venus. Because Venus disappeared, he moves in with Bosco.
- Juliana Kwok will play Ka Ka (嘉嘉), a forensic officer. She is Bosco's subordinate.
- Niklas Lam will play Ching Long (程朗), who follows Bosco.
- Osanna Chiu will play Ling Si Wai (凌詩蕙), Jacky's bestie.
- Ball Mang follows Joman.
- Mandy Yuen has more scenes with Benjamin.
- Mina Kwok will play Bing Bing (冰冰).
- Sisley will film the first and last episodes as a guest appearance.
- Venus will have a special appearance.
