Samantha is excited about leading a Lunar New movie for the first time: "Being the female lead in a movie for the first time, and it's a Lunar New Year movie, so it's even more worthy of being happy about it. I think that it's very prosperous. Going to watch our Lunar New Year movie would be even more prosperous". Kenneth felt the same way: "It's literally also my first time shooting a Hong Kong movie. Previously shot Mainland movies. Even my first time being the male lead...very happy. (Competing for the 'Newcomer' award?) I really don't know about this!" In the movie, Samantha plays a queen of mahjong who is very skilled at playing mahjong, but she does not even know how to count the score: "The past two years, have been going to my friends' place to exchange New Year's greetings...would find me to join in to make up the numbers. The Lunar New Year movie "Queen of Mahjong", starring Kenneth Ma and Samantha Ko, held its premiere [today]. The two are a couple in the movie, but their liking toward mahjong is different. Samantha is a mahjong master in the movie, while Kenneth hates mahjong. Samantha expressed that, because mahjong-playing scenes had to be filmed, they had to be filmed at least four times. The staff had to stack the same mahjong tiles, and it had to be filmed until midnight, and also had to remember how to play and take the content into account, frankly saying that there was a certain level of diffulty. TVB's annual event "TV Awards Presentation 2024" was held tonight at the Grand Lisboa Palace. 'My Favourite TVB Actor in a Leading Role (Greater Bay Area)' and 'My Favourite TVB Actress in a Leading Role (Greater Bay Area)' were won by Kenneth Ma for "The Airport Diary" and Tavia Yeung for "Darkside of the Moon"! Kenneth expressed that he felt very happy: "Did not expect a series that aired at the beginning of the year would also be able to win an award at the end of the year. Very thankful to the viewers who voted for me, the crew of 'Airport', and the airport's control team for their full support!"

Tavia expressed that she was actually very nervous, so she became emotional because she had never thought that the TV king and queen of the Greater Bay Area would be presented so quickly: "It's my first time winning it, so I am really very happy because I have already collected all of the awards, and I have already not received an award for 12 years. Samantha Ko and Kenneth Ma have been working together since the series "The QUEEN of News", especially recently breaking into the movie industry together, filming Patrick Kong's Lunar New Year movie "Queen of Mahjong". At the same time, the two had an acting battle again in TVB's series new series, "The Game of the Married", and have already developed good chemistry with one another. It turns out that the two only took five days to finish their scenes in "Mahjong"; however, looking back at the work schedule of over 20 hours a day, it was definitely extremely tough.

Samantha, who described 'making money as being more practical than dating', frankly said in an interview [yesterday], "Worked on two shows at the same time! Frankly speaking, it was very fulfilling and satisfying this year. Just like today (13th) is my birthday and even had to work. I am okay. Regarding Samantha's hard work, Kenneth called her 'Queen' and revealed, "It was tougher for her than me. Just like filming "Game", she has to keep changing her makeup and hairstyle. One scene has to be shot at least twice because different stages of the character had to be performed. She also had to act as a mahjong master in "Queen". Shooting mahjong scenes overnight was the most time-consuming. Luckily, my character hates playing mahjong the most". After hearing this, Samantha added, "Due to having to change the makeup non-stop, previously suffered from eczema on my eyelids. Actually, I just learned how to play mahjong these two years, and even won with 13 orphans before. At first, it was a friend who took [me] to make up the numbers. Luckily, [I] learned how to play mahjong from watching a Lunar New Year movie in the past. It turns out that, apart from being able to laugh, can even gain knowledge from watching movies. Remember to go to the theatres to support us, everyone...ha ha!"

Had Not Seen Her Parents for Three Months

In addition, due to work, Samantha expressed that she had not seen her parents for three months.
