Personal Note: The results for Astro are never a surprise because the winners are usually fan-based. Malaysians love their idols! However, I believe TVB rigged the female award. Why else would the final five be exactly the same as the top five at TVB's 40th Anniversary? Malaysians would not shut Myolie out. She is quite popular over there. Don't get me wrong because Louise had every right to win, but she is not classified as an idol. She's a 'sat lik pai'. I bet either Jessica or Charmaine was supposed to win.

I thought Jessica was going to go up and accept the character award for Bobby. When Nat Chan said, "Let's have Bobby's partner to accept the award...Virginia Lok", Joe was all smiles and nudged Jessica. Jessica look was either "How come I didn't know I had to go up to accept the award?", or "What? How come I'm not accepting it for Bobby?" Ha ha....
After Moses pretended to kiss the female host, Vivian, during the 'Favourite Actor' portion, Raymond's expression was priceless! Ha ha....

ReplyDeletehm..as for the female leading...it relaly depends... cause well in the way i see it..i dont think Louis was suppose to be the lead actress ..i thought Susanna and mayeb Linda was..and in Moonlight Louise was suppose to be female lead... but i guess its cause everytime Louise scene..she gets the most climax in Heart...i mean..what scene is she not in..where she gets to yell at the bad guys? i think its a matter of climax too...
as for Myolie..i didnt quite like her in To Grow With Love (rooting for her more for WOIL2 for next year)... and
it's possible some of them were actualyl voted that way..cause if you look at it this way,
Charmaine Sheh has a large fan base..they've always been very supportive of her..so she's bound to be one of the highest voted...
Louise Lee and Susanna Kwan very popular with Heart of Greed...andlike you said..Sut Lik
Jessica also very popular and has skills..i think i always see her at astro..so she probably really popular in malaysia as well..
so i guess there's possibility the awards were rigged...but i guess it depends on how we see it..
I still think TVB had something to do with the results.
ReplyDeleteMyolie already won Astro's Female Lead in 2006 for "War Of the In-Laws."
Also, Jessica is always in Malaysia. She has been to the Astro Awards since the first year they had it, and that was in 2004.
Hhaha..i feel TVB has to do with all results ..lol.but i always hope..since they use to not be so...in-your-face type of idea..HAHAHA

oo isaw that shows..partly .,.. was that the one with Roger Kwok, Sonjia Kwok, Flora Chen, Nancy Sit, Lor Lan, Ha Yu, Charmaine Sheh too?? LOL.. and Roger, Jessica, Vivian Yeo and Nancy did this hilarious skit??
So far, no female artiste has won twice in Astro. Only Roger and Moses won twice.

ReplyDeleteI'm not saying that Myolie should have won, but it was kinda a surprise that she wasn't in the top 5 since i read that she was at least #2 in votes. i think it's funny that they love to tease boscolie (and bernice and moses!)
