- The series is a warm and humourous comedy that uses a lighthearted way to bring out a warm series.
- The series title is the spirit of Nina Paw's character, and is also the central theme of the series. Nina's character teaches her children that, as long as they are not afraid of difficulties and are willing to face them, all problems can be solved.
- Nina will play Kwok Law Mei Lan (郭羅美蘭), a humourous and witty mother. She raised her three children by herself, using her hands to do Chinese embroidery for a living. She always works, has seen many affairs pertaining to the society and the world, is also rather open-minded, and would not use traditional methods to teach her children. She is so busy with work that she even delegates the responsibility to taking care of the siblings to Joe, the eldest son, because Joe and younger brother Mat Yeung are twelve years apart. Her children are also middle-aged, facing various problems related to housing, marriage, work, parenting, the future, etc. She will stimulate their thinking, letting them get out of their predicament and find their way in life. She has a tough and optimistic personality, and is confident in her children. She has three children: Joe Ma, Stephanie Che, and Mat.
- Joe will play Duncan Kwok Tak Kan (郭得勤), a model who acts cool. He has an astute and tough appearance but is actually easily deceived. He thinks that he is right and craves money. He is the big brother but is slightly foolish. He is a cool but exaggerated character. He and Natalie Tong have a romantic storyline. Natalie is his wife; he really loves her because she is pretty and rich. He loves his wife but also craves money. He is also playing the father of his character.
- Natalie will play Tin Yu Fei (田羽菲), the daughter of a Datuk. She is a down-to-earth girl from a wealthy family who does not have too many famous brands to wear. Nina is her mother-in-law, while Joe is her husband. She and Joe are divorced at first, but they later date. She and Joe are divorced, but he is still by her side; she left him, but he still loves her.
- Mat will play Kwok Tak Ming (郭得明), a well-known fashion designer who intends to design wedding dresses. He is Nina's well-behaved second son. He and Stephen Wong seem to have a 'hehe' relationship: the two are good friends, but their actions cause his family and Grace Wong to misunderstand that they are a pair. He and Grace are a pair.
- Grace will play Chong Chi Ching (莊致澄), a Western-style embroiderer who is a half-beat behind. She an artsy girl who is obsessed with fashion design and knows how to live a slow life. She is Nina's embroidery apprentice. She has to inherit Nina's skills. She has a romantic storyline with Mat.
- Stephanie will play Double Kwok Tak Po (郭得寶), a photographer. Fei Wu is her son. Jeremy Wong is her boyfriend. Grace is her apprentice.
- Tsui Wing will play the owner of a coffee shop. He is a filial son. He used to be a wanderer, but his mother, Helen Ma, had a stroke, so he returns and settles down in Hong Kong to take care of her. He and Stephanie have a moving love story.
- Eddie Kwan seems to be Mat's father. He is grateful toward Nina but also has some beef with her. He will clash with Nina's family because he owns half of the building that Nina's family lives in. He, who has just been released from prison, will fight with everyone for the building, but he has to follow Nina's spirit of protecting her children and letting them grow up together. The Kwok family is fearful of the stranger who has come into their house, but he is a good person who always has to protect them. Stephanie is the first to accept him. His triad brothers are Stephen Ho, Kevin Tong, Terence Tung, Anthony Yu, Calvin Chan, and Hellston Ching.
- Stephen Wong will play Mountain Fung Yiu San (馮耀山), who admires Mat. He and Grace are romantic rivals; Grace becomes the third party.
- Fei will play Danny Kwok King Hin (郭景軒), a 25-year-old part-time expert and server at ½ Moment Coffee (「半刻咖啡」). He is kind and optimistic, meek and obedient, independent, and tidy and orderly. He also has his own thoughts but does not often express them. He has not been in love before, and he would be nervous and shy when facing his crush. Once he encounters the thing that he likes, he would bravely charge forward and work hard to fight for it. He loves fine food and is a foodie. When he was born, his father was already missing early on. His mother, Stephanie, was still a minor; thus, his maternal grandmother, Nina, was responsible for taking care of him. He has been living with Nina since he was young; the usual activities of his daily life are taken care of by Nina, and he is doted on. Although it is like this, he does not become arrogant; rather, he keeps Nina's teachings in his heart, building a close grandmother-grandchild relationship. He has a crush on Grace; there is a scene where she sticks up for him, so she becomes his goddess, but she likes his uncle, Mat. He has always thought that his uncle is gay, so he has always hoped that he would be able to woo Grace.
- Gary Tam will play Chong Ching Yuen (莊致遠), an Inspector of Police. He is an incredible undercover detective. He is Grace's elder brother.
- Helen will play a woman who has had a stroke. She is in a wheelchair. Tsui Wing is her son; she always wants him to get married. She likes Stephanie.
- Fung So Bor will play the maternal grandmother of Grace and Gary.
- Stephen Ho will play a triad boss who values friendship. He is a major antagonist.
- Griselda Yeung will play the younger version of Nina's character. She has a rather frank personality and is tough, supporting her family. She is blunt and speaks faster. Joe is her husband.
- Nicholas Yuen will play the younger version of Eddie's character.
- Jessica Kan will play the younger version of Stephanie's character.
- Derek Wong will play Larry, Joe's manager.
- Terence will play Stephen Ho's underling.
- Kelly Fu will play Erica.
- David Do will play Sam Ling Yik Wo (凌亦和), a regional marketing manager. he is Natalie's suitor. He was Natalie's university classmate, and is now her superior at her company.
- Amy Fan will play Joe's office rival. She and Mat have an ambiguous relationship; it is a short-lived but unforgettable relationship that leaves him unable to go back.
- Kelvin Yuen will play a fashion designer.
- Aliya Fan is responsible for taking care of Helen. Helen thinks that she would be an ideal wife, so Helen introduces her to Tsui Wing. She becomes particularly attentive toward Tsui Wing.
- Kelly Gu will play a coffee shop employee with a tomboyish personality.
- Jeremy will play Johnathan Cheung Lik Hang (張力行), Stephanie's boyfriend. He and Stephanie met in Mainland.
- Kevin Tong will play 「蠔屎」, a ruffian in the '80s who later joins the triads.
- Xiang Ma will guest-star as the 20-year-old version of Joe's character.
- Anthony will play Stephen Ho's underling.
- Calvin will play Stephen Ho's underling.
- Hellston will play Stephen Ho's underling.
- Lisa Lau will play Tin Yu Bing (田羽冰). Natalie is her paternal elder cousin. She likes Stephen.
