- The series uses sauce as the theme, mainly talking about soy sauce. The series talks about the resentment of a big sauce family in the '30s, as well as the story of young people fighting for their dreams and careers.
- Hugo Ng, Timothy Cheng, Gary Chan, and Tsui Wing are brothers.
- Matthew Ho will play Man Cheuk Fung (萬卓楓), the fourth son of the Man family. He and Rebecca Zhu are a bickering pair.
- Rebecca will play Ha Siu Moon (夏小滿), a courier who later becomes a soy sauce girl. She comes from the lower class. At the big sauce factory, she meets Matthew, who does not really have dreams and only focuses on having fun; the two influence each other, as she makes him begin to work hard, while he helps her embark on the road to success. She gets raped by someone, and then Matthew rescues her. Wai Ka Hung is her master. Kong Wing Fai is her adoptive father.
- Katy Kung will play Yip Sai Yiu (葉細么), a shrewd worker at the sauce factory. She and Rebecca both came out of a brothel. She has a crush on Matthew, and she and James Ng also have a romantic relationship in which they use each other. She and Andrew Yuen are a couple.
- Kaman Kong will play Ko Seung Seung (高雙雙), Andrew's younger sister.
- James will play Wah Gor (華歌). He has a major secret: he and Matthew are actually twin brothers. Why did one become a rich young master, while the other is from a poor family? Akina Hong is his mother.
- Stephen Wong will play Man Cheuk Nam (萬卓楠), the eldest son of the Man family. He is the son of Timothy and Stephanie Che. He discovers that Kaman's elder brother, Ko Siu Wing (高兆榮), has a major conspiracy behind justice. As the plot progresses, she clearly sees her elder brother's true colours, which gives her an epiphany and makes her grow.
- Hugo will play a traditional property protector. He is a loving father who takes care of his children well. He and Mimi Kung are a married couple that manages a big sauce factory; Matthew is their son. He is a mean husband.
- Griselda Yeung will play Man Yuk Ang (萬玉鶯), the fifth daughter of the Man family. She also helps out at the sauce factory. She has a rather miserable past.
- Andrew will play a commissioner.
- Maggie Yu will play Andrew's wife.
- Lee Kwok Lun will play a wealthy person who sells soy sauce. Wong Yee Kam is his wife, while Hero Yuen is his son.
- Wai Ka Hung will play a master at making soy sauce. He protects and guards Griselda.
- Gary will play a very honest person who frequently gets bullied by his brothers. He hits his wife, Florence Kwok. Jonathan Lee is their son.
- Tsui Wing will play Man Kai Kong (萬啟江), who is faithful toward his wife, Amy Fan, but also has a polygamous attitude. Ng Cheuk Hang is their son. He and Timothy belong to the same faction because they are both plotting for the family property.
- Amy will play a Shanghainese. She speaks nonstandard Cantonese.
- KK Cheung will play a general. He is Andrew's superior.
- Jonathan will play Man Cheuk Cheung (萬卓樟), the second son of the Man family. He is the son of Gary and Florence.
- Ng Cheuk Hang will play Man Cheuk Yu (萬卓榆).
- Lee Yee Man will play Chan Ying Suet (陳映雪).
- Mina Kwok follows Amy.
- Michael Wai will play Chan A Lik (陳亞九), an accountant. He has an eight-year-old son.
- Russell Cheung will play Tai Heung Fuk (戴厚福), who specializes in collecting debts.
- Terrence Huang will play Andrew's competent lackey.
- Carisa Yan will play Hung Chan Kiu (洪陳嬌).
